By Law, if convicted, they may each have 21years behind the bar for crimes against State. PRAY FOR RIVERS STATE...

Undiluted news straight from today's sittings at the tribunal. veraponpo: |
TRIBUNAL THINGS: Counsel for Wike, E.C.Ukala has failed to produce evidence of the Appeal Court judgment in which he claimed yesterday had ordered the tribunal to stay proceedings until ruling on eligibility and inspection. The tribunal Chairman, Justice Mohammed Ambrosa has ruled that hearing on Dakuku's petition continues. Looks like Ukala is running out of ideas on how to save Wike's controversial victory even as INEC has continously failed to produce evidence of the elections it claimed to have conducted in Rivers. The premature jubilation in the camp of the PDP in Rivers over the adulterated judgment of the Appeal Court has just been aborted. The plethora of lies by the PDP media is now being extinct by the courts. How long will the ignorant supporters of Wike and the mindless Rivers people be deceived by falsehood? It's only just a matter of time and the truth will be unveiled! |
Lol.na only ths pdp woman nkiru carry ths MSG.I live here in ph there s nothing like jubilation anywhere. |

Rivers state is the archetypal state where things happen: the good, the bad and the ugly. Recently, the political upheaval in the state has kept it in the news - all for the wrong reasons. Those who thought that with the emergence of one political party which appears to be in temporal control of state government apparatus, things would stabilize were rather hasty in their judgment if the palpitating stories emanating from the Rivers State House of Assembly is anything to go by. You need to understand what is happening to know the intrigues of political intricacies about to play out in Rivers State, it bears the trademarks of Machiavellian brutality and it promises to be one tumultuous, breath-taking political conflagration. Recently, Chief Nyesom Wike, has become increasingly suspicious of Prince Uche Secondus, National Acting Chairman of the PDP who has been dreaming big for his Andoni tribe and surreptitiously placing his puzzles in the political labyrinth with expert masterstrokes to achieve that dream. If you are still struggling to fathom the magnitude of Secondus dream, fret no more: the Acting National Chairman of the PDP seeks to erect a new order out of the burble of Wike's fledgling political flatulence. That grand design, cleverly and opportunistically woven, is the root cause of the coming political tornado in Rivers State, and if nothing is done to arrest the situation, it is set to unravel in a catastrophic dimension from which Rivers PDP cannot recover. Prince Uche Secondus, a clever political mathematician, is already savouring the prospect of his godson emerging acting Governor of Rivers State, a possibility that will make him control the levers of power for at least three months, and make history as the first time a minority Andoni will become the number one citizen of Rivers State. If you are wondering how, read the next paragraph. Rt. Hon Ibani Awaji is the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly. He is an Obolo man from Andoni. He is political godson of Uche Secondus who is in absolute control of the speaker's political pulse. He directs him. He determines what he does and how he acts. Uche Secondus is to the speaker what a remote control in an expert hand is to a television. Bearing in mind the incredible nature of the Rivers guber election, it was the intentional design of Uche Secondus to be in charge of the Rivers legislature through his lackey and Wike fell for the trap by imposing Ibani as Speaker. In a few months, secondus’s motive for that position would become clear. But Nyesom Wike is nobody's fool. He too, is a clever political juggernaut. Even though he couldn't understand Uche's predilection and obsession to the speakership when power slates were being drawn in the state after his purported victory in the governorship poll, he has come to appreciate the stark political reality confronting him, the dangerous minefield of an Ibani led Assembly in a state “combustively” angry at the fraudulent emergence of another Ikwerre man as Governor, and how he may be at the mercy of Uche Secondus in a few months. If you are still unsure where the political puzzle game is heading, then know this. Faith in Wike's ability to weather the legal storm against his election unscathed has weakened and is evaporating very fast as the Rivers guber election tribunal enters the home stretch. Wike himself knows what is to come, and so it is that he has started engineering pragmatic political moves aimed at watering the ground for re-election. In doing that, Wike wants his own man, a trusted Ikwerre ally as Speaker, not anybody else’s man, not Secondus' man. Constitutionally, the Speaker of the Assembly is expected to take over as Governor and be in charge in the period leading to the re-run and during the re-run itself, once Wike’s election is nullified. This appears to be the tomorrow which Uche Secondus has foreseen, not only for his own benefit, but for that of his Speaker godson and his Andoni people. In furtherance of this agenda, and to the utter dismay and disappointment of Wike, Uche Secondus reportedly made overtures to Dr Dressman, candidate of the APC for Rivers State House of Assembly in the Andoni Constituency to withdraw his petition from the tribunal against the speaker, Rt Hon Owaji Ibani in the bigger interest of Andoni people and to keep their dream of producing the acting governor alive. Dr Dressman refused the offer made to him to drop his case and is presently in the tribunal challenging the victory of the speaker in the Governorship and House of Assembly election. Unsure of the kind of meal Uche Secondus-controlled Rt Hon Ibani would cook for him in the possibility of emerging Acting Governor of Rivers State and how that would affect the possible rerun, Chief Wike is currently moving against the Speaker with a view to getting him impeached and installing his own man as Speaker. To the shock of Wike, Uche Secondus in a bold counter-move has reportedly told his close allies that if Chief Wike continues with his belligerence against his "boy", he is willing to sink the boat and as a proactive measure, has detailed the speaker to galvanize his loyalists in the house for an impeachment showdown against the Governor. It is a move that will clearly take toll on governance in the state as the common good will be abandoned in the execution of political survival strategies with all the resources sure to be pumped into that effort to the detriment of the people of Rivers State. The Governor is planning to get the speaker impeached and get his own man installed in the role. As a counter strategy, the speaker, backed with the resources and contact of his godfather is fighting back, galvanizing support of his colleagues to get the Governor impeached instead. Uche Secondus has already armed the Speaker with seemingly justifiable reasons to go after the jugular of the Governor. Since Chief Wike started the the Operation Zero Potholes in Port Harcourt, he has been unable to tell Rivers people how much that is costing the tax payers. That business has been conducted in secrecy and the Governor has rebuffed all overtures to make him tell the people how much he has pumped into the exercise. Chief Nyesom has already obtained loan facilities totalling a whooping thirty billion naira since he took over from Amaechi on 29th May, 2015, making Rivers State the only state that has borrowed that much in internal loans. Bulletine, and many other failed construction companies that were vestiges of former Governor Odili's pillage and malfeasance have already been resurrected by Nyesom Wike, creating reasonable suspicion that the Governor is using these companies to siphon the state's resources for re-election purposes. There is no road that Bulletine constructed during the Odili years that didn't fail few months after. Talk about the Airforce-Eliozu overhead Bridges. Talk about the Salughter Bridge and the Slaughter Road. All the roads and bridges that the company built failed and were repaired/rehabilitated by Amaechi. That company is back and Uche Secondus has armed the speaker with all the anomalies going on that the impeachment notice should contain. In addition to these malfeasance, it is not news that local Government funds have been tampered with by Wike, this is part of the reasons he procured judgements to remove the elected councils hand-in-glove. These records abound with documents reportedly made available to Ibani through Secondus by insidious government officials, civil servants and disgruntled Wike insiders. It remains to be seen who will come top in what promises to be a fight of Titans. Yet again, Rivers State is set to be in the news for another rattling impeachment saga, and if the brewing brouhaha is not nipped in the bud, Rivers people would be in for another unfortunate political crisis |
Cry me a river Ezenwammadu: |
"If you conduct election 100 times, I will win. Even if you like bring Ban Ki Moon (sic), I will win." - Wike Now the story has changed. What we have now is desperation at its peak to survive the sledge hammer waiting for them at the tribunal. 1. Four (4) generators have been damaged inside INEC office in Port Harcourt because somebody or group of persons helped by the security personnel attached to them poured salt into the diesel tanks. And PHEDC had to suddenly cut off their light because debts are owed, all in a bid to stop the APC from accessing electoral materials. 2. At the tribunal, their lawyers for over 120days have maintained all manner of frivolous motions to ensure that the petition brought by Dr. Dakuku Peterside is thrown away. But God has severally disgraced them. 3. Over 20 Billion Naira have been spent as bribe to judges, yet all the decisions of the tribunals have ended in the favour of the APC. 4. INEC has suddenly become an enemy to them. Therefore they must lead a violent protest to shut down the complex or worse still, burn it down. BUT GOD PASS THEM. 5. They have suddenly known God and now visit from one church to another, host crusades and huge financial promises made to them. He should please don't forget Rev. Mbaka's church oh. Since he believes that God can be mocked. 6. Even Prince Secondus now knows and has began to porch the APC house of assembly candidate from Andoni to withdraw his suit because he wants his crony to be an acting governor. Somebody should tell him that what is good for the goose is also good for the gander. 7. All their e-rats no longer have mobile data to withstand the wind of change on the net. 8. Former Gov. Amaechi, their once beautiful bride has suddenly become very corrupt overnight and must be blackmailed. Such an effort in futility! 9. They have resorted to blackmailing the tribunal judges since their bribes were rejected. They now want to forcefully pay money into the judges account and accuse them of collecting bribes. All in a bid to stall the legal process. *Please somebody should help me tell them that nobody can stop the wind of change when God is involved. The mandate stolen SHALL be recovered no matter how much they pay. APC is the party, Dr. Dakuku Peterside is the Change Leader, all National and State Assembly candidates of the APC are the generals, and APC members are the change agents. Support the APC today to be part of this history, as the Egyptians you see today, very soon, we shall see no more. |
I was at Government House Port Harcourt today. I had to accompany the Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria on his visit to Government House in the morning hours. It was a must that I had to go. We were already discusing with Nyesom Wike, Governor of Rivers State when someone just whispered to his ear the judgement from today's tribunal. Immediately, he just shouted no no no no again and again. Suddenly, his eyes became very red. The next thing that happened was that he knelt down, shouting, man of God, please pray for me. Pray for me, please pray for me. The prelate prayed for him." "Nyesom Wike immediately instructed his Chief of Staff to cancel all appointments he scheduled today, stressing that he was not in a good mood." Ok, at this point, I know the question PDP folks want to ask me, but I can't disclose my source.

His story is quite familiar. But remarkably, his is one of those poignant tales that seem to get even more interesting despite how often they are retold. Born on May 27, 1965 in Umuordu-Ubima, Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi schooled at St. Theresa’s Primary School, Ubima; Government Secondary School, Okolobiri (now in Bayelsa State), and the University of Port Harcourt where he obtained BA and MA Degrees in English language. As a student activist he exhibited great leadership qualities which led to his election as the President of the National Association of Rivers State Students. Rt. Hon. Amaechi’s distinctive leadership legacies are deeply rooted across the length and breadth of Rivers State. His love and commitment to education, culture and youth empowerment found expression in his creating of enabling environments and infrastructure for the growth of educational and cultural activities in the state. Apart from driving rapid physical and intellectual development of the state, his efforts at ensuring security of lives and property yielded enduring dividends evident in the return of entertainment activities and night life in Port Harcourt, which was fast becoming a dreaded theatre of bloodshed before he took over as Governor. He also initiated and completed the construction of a 5-star international conference centre to boost conference tourism in the state. It was to the credit of his administration’s commitment to security of lives and property that Port Harcourt hosted, at various times, the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association meeting, National Sports Festival, Miss ECOWAS Beauty Pageant and the African International Film Festival, to mention just a few. Worthy of special note is his revival and elevation of the Rivers State Cultural Carnival (CARNIRIV) to international standards and physically participating in the carnival, always leading the entire state executive council and legislature in the carnival processions. His support for literary activities also boosted the Read Campaign in Rivers State, leading to the globally acclaimed Garden City Literary Festival, now Port Harcourt Book Festival. It was not surprising that Port Harcourt eventually became the UNESCO World Book Capital. Amaechi has long carved a niche for himself as a far-sighted strategist whose convictions cannot be swayed no matter the contending forces or attractions. Rising through leadership ranks, he was twice the Chairman of Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria; an honourary member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, USA and recipient of many distinguished national and international awards, including the Man of The Year 2007 by The Sun Newspaper, Lagos. A strong advocate of value re-orientation for youths, he has been conferred with the Papal Knighthood of St. Sylvester by His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI. Notwithstanding the controversies or varied sobriquets his political stand in recent times may have generated, Amaechi left an undisputed legacy of physical, socio-economic and educational development unparalleled in the history of Rivers State, for which he remains a role model to millions of Nigerians. The fundamental lesson of his political odyssey to date resides in the wisdom that, in pursuit of conviction, it is better to die for something than live for everything, as those who live for everything end up dying for nothing. Being honoured in Abuja today by his colleagues, I proudly join other friends, associates and admirers to celebrate this rare icon of humanism and undeniable example of political courage. Congratulations, Your Excellency. May God continue to bless you with higher wisdom. — |

Rivers APC Assures Members Victory Is Around The Corner, At The Election Tribunal Rivers APC Assures Supporters Technical Setback On Dawari, Odili Matters Temporary The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Wednesday assured its members that victory is awaiting the party at the various election tribunals in both Abuja and Port Harcourt despite temporary setback.A statement issued by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Chris Finebone, said the negative reports being bandied around were attempts by the PDP and their agents to sell to the public the impression that the APC petitions before various tribunals at Abuja are on the verge of being thrown out on grounds of technicality. According to Finebone, “This is sequel to the ruling Tuesday by the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal in the matters of Dr Dawari George and Mr Lucky Odili of Asari-Toru/Akuku-Toru Federal Constituency and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Federal Constituency respectively. ” Both men had filed petitions challenging the victory of Hon. Boma Goodhead of Asari-Toru/Akuku-Toru Federal Constituency and Prince Nnam Obi of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Federal Constituency. But the Tribunal ruled that the APC revised notice for conduct of Primaries was not within the stipulated 21 days. “Since this development, the PDP and their agents have inundated the media claiming that all other APC candidates’ petitions will be affected by the technicality of time.” The statement added; “The APC feels obliged to explain for the benefit of our members and Nigerians that there is no atom of truth in the assertions by our opponents regarding this matter. The truth remains that the APC National Headquarters issued notice for conduct of party primaries on 19th September, 2014 which is more than the 21 days required by law. However, due to certain circumstances, the APC, out of courtesy, sent a revised notice to the INEC informing the electoral umpire of a slight change in its primaries schedule to which the INEC acknowledged receipt. All of the actions eventually happened within the period specified by INEC in its timetable. “However, it appears curious to the APC that the Tribunal sitting on the matters of Hon. Dawari George and Hon. Lucky Odili would base its decision on a revised notice that might as well not have been written, to technically set aside the petitions of both APC candidates. ” However, both candidates have promptly appealed the Tribunal ruling and we believe justice will be served the candidates and the party accordingly. “It is rather shocking that the PDP and their agents have started bandying that the rulings on Dr. Dawari George and Hon. Lucky Odili also affect all other APC petitions before different tribunals. That is a white lie meant to distract and misinform the public. “The APC would like to re-assure its members and Nigerians that the said revised notice of primaries has no consequential effects on all other petitions by APC candidates at all levels, be it the House of Assembly, Governorship, House of Representatives and Senatorial petitions presently being heard at the different tribunals. ” We would like to urge APC members to remain steadfast and prayerful as victory at the various tribunals is around the corner.” |

As you travel to the Amasiemaka Stadium from the Owerri axis, I know you may be tempted to close your eyes and drive because of the smooth "federal highway" built by Governor Chibuike Amaechi, however I have to advise you to drive safely as you will be needed to cheer our U-23 to victory and your family will surely be waiting for you to come back alive!
