Today representatives of 400,000 residents of Lokogoma districts gathered to bring attention to the deplorable state of primary infrastructure in the area. The procession was called today to draw attention to their plight. This action today was a fallout of the death of a man and his two children during a heavy downpour of 17th August at the gate of his estate in Ipent5,lokogoma. The rally today is aimed at meeting with the FCT Minister to request for an urgent need to provide primary infrastructure to forestall calamities. The area, part of the mass housing scheme of the FCT administration. The government is expected to provide lands to developers who are in turn develop the critical tertiary infrastructure. But since 2007 the area has suffered from lack of such basic structures. The demand for the provision of the requested primary infrastructure will no doubt accelerate the development of the area and reduce the pressure on the city centre and metropolis of Abuja.

As much as I am a proponent of experience. You cannot pretend that there are some exeptional young person out there able to perform when provided the opportunity. What His excellency, Obiano had demonstrated is knowledge that there are budding competent fellows out there who should be given the chance to serve.I am not sure all qualified persons can be engaged at the same time anywhere in the world. And anyway I expect the governor to select individual he can work with in his team and capable of delivering the expectations of the electorate.Nobody should grudge the governor on that at all...What youths need to do is to support their own and not put so much pressure on the apointees to give others to be recognised for the quality of governance they can contribute to the society. |
I hope we wont be here another 50 years struggling about who stole what from government coffers?W hat I am simply asking from the government is to simply put in place for those who had stolen not to even imagine about doing it it again. If it looks like come over and return your loot and get a handshake and a pat on the back....it will mot discourage others who have the intentions of stealing US blind in the future. How do you feel when you are hounded by "tax collectors" to pay up what is due to the federal government whether in the public or private sectors and find out later that most of these monies end up inside private pockets?I insist for fairness and posterity all public looters who by the way know fully the weight of what actions they have taken should be discouraged from such acts again in future.I don't know about you sha..but I am feeling the pinch of their actions.I no dey look face. |
Ok! Can invoke my freedom of information right to know who the "thieves of state "are? Me thinks that after all said and done it still relevant that we figure out a way to discourage future stealing from our "commonwealth".A form name and shame with dire consequences should be entrenched in our polity to discourage anyone with such intention.infact cut off the person forever from profiteering from government patronage as well as in the private realm.something must have to go for it.It just shouldn't be a walk in the park for looters of public treasury anymore.I rest my case |
How much school fees can be considered too much for you to pay for your ward/child?I had the opportunity to be at a venue for common entrance recently. The interesting thing is though the amount charged is in the region of half a million naira per term. The interesting part is that some parents think it is cheap and very affordable. So will you be willing to set a limit to what you are willing to pay as schools fees or is there no limit? |
I know that Pascal Bafyau died sometime back.News should be verified before put on FrontPage. It should not be a product of someone's brainwave...haba....it must be the sun I think |
Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.Sometimes I wonder how our so called leaders travel round the world and enjoy all the beautiful places.Forget that it takes well articulated plan to also bring the nation to that point where people will be queuing to apply for visa to Nigeria. We don't say Nigeria will be great in a day.But the selfless and well planned reforms must start now |
Good memory.Must have started like......I was in Nigeria in 1984 specifically Lagos... ![]() |
maupe:This is the most humorous comment I have heard all year. Two things are involved here.I see no reason why the President should be embarrass at all.Afterall the President had picked every international forum the last 10 months to reiterate how "recklessly corrupt' his fellow countrymen are without caution. It begs the fact that when you serially slap you wife whenever you have a small quarrel in your bedroom.Soon your fight will become the subject of bedtime story for the security man and his wife. There is truism in the saying that "its the house rat that go and invite other rats and notify them of where the best gcheckeredin the house." More so where did Cameron get the effrontry to refer to Nigeria in such way when their system have proven that they are also the best permit me to say "abetters" of corruption in the world.Afterall there is no way the UK system do not know about every 10 thousand pounds take get into the UK.They unashamedly know that the money that is transferred into UK are mostly stolen public funds from impoverished nations and simply turn the other way as all that fund arrives in their shores and scream high heavens after they have confirmed the funds have well settled in their banking system to further boost their fledgling economy the more.In fact the UK have as much to be blamed for tolerating and encouraging corruption by dangling all those real estate without due diligence as to the source of the funds. Please Mr.Cameron can you confirm to me that the UK did not collect any tax when all those public servants or their proxies buy those choice UK properties. The giver and taker of bribe have much part and portion to take in the blame game.Explain to me why they will allow that much money to enter into the UK borders running into millions several times by different governments in power throughout our chekered history. The joke is on Cameron who have supported corruption unparreled over the years joor.Let's see who still smiling now.You that encourage corruption and the one know a he can find a safe haven for it are the same. |
For anyone to function well in any position it is important that accommodation should not be among things to worry about na.Simply there are so many houses in Maitama and Asokoro painted boldly in EFFC bold red colours.I suggest while they are trying to sort out whether those properties are "illegally acquired" the houses can be put to better use housing the Ministers.Invariably houses of "befitting quality" need to be built for them to save money in the long run. After all the rents for some of those properties are 'overhyped' jare. |
Are EFFC now telling us that every action they take follows "text book rules". I believe the burden of proof still depends on how well they prove the cases they bring before the judges. Also there is room for appeal if they are not impressed with the outcome.A lot of time EFFC has been known to bungle many cases because of sloppy side prosecution. What I expect from them is focus on due follow of the cases and avoid scenarios where they are thrown out because of insufficient evidences or proper prosecution. |
It is always easy to figure out what someone is not doing right and castigate to high heavens. It is always the person who wears the cap that knows where it hurts most.In tthe way forward is what we want to hear afterall if the ideas are good you must not be in government of the day to share the ideas that will move Nigeria forward.Abeg enough of this public display of intellectualism while we know many of these persons have direct access to the seat of power.Lets hear how they can take us out of the doldrums.God you know my heart I want this country to work it does not matter who is in power. |
