I have 26 Gripen jets but only 8 pilots qualified to fly them, now show us how that firepower will work without full manpower.

I know you trying to knock off the military manpower issue because Nigerian has 200,000 armed forces personnel and south Africa 60,000. You are already afraid of Nigeria's more than 3 times bigger number of soldiers that will white-wash south Africa worse than seleka rebels grin

Run @msauza, run ! Nigerian army is near your door, hide your wife and children under the bed grin

Nigeria's Security Forces(Army, Navy, Airforce, Police, NSCDC) Totals near 700,000

saengine: My mistake. It means the NAF has never, and will never conduct long distance operations outside the borders of Nigeria using their helicopters. And I don't means neighbouring countries. Even the U.S and U.K put their helicopters in heavy transport aircraft, and assemble on sight. And im guessing all Nigerian APV's are also driven to places like Mali? Not taken by air? Just asking.
Are you trying to be ridiculous...... You can't get over the fact that SA spent hundreds in millions to chatter aircrafts and Nigeria hardly does so you are looking to make cheap points by screwing @Agaugust's post. Come on! zetdee: WHY OBAMA WON'T VISIT NIGERIA

The United States on Tuesday hinted on the reasons why President Barack Obama won't visit Nigeria during his upcoming three-nation trip to Africa.

According to US officials, the ongoing insecurity appeared to be responsible for the exclusion of Nigeria  in Obama's second visit to the continent.

Obama is scheduled to visit Senegal, Tanzania and South Africa.

The US government said the trip would focus on trade and investment, democratic institution-building, young people, and enhancing  economic growth.

American Deputy National Security Advisor, Ben Rhodes, made this clarifications at a briefing on Tuesday.

The briefing was addressed jointly with the Senior Director for African Affairs Grant Harris and Senior Director for Development and Democracy Gayle Smith, on Obama's upcoming visit.

The text of the briefing was made available to journalists in Abuja by the Information Office of the Public Affairs Section of the US Embassy.

Rhodes said, "With respect to Nigeria, we certainly believe that Nigeria is a fundamentally important country to the future of Africa. We've put a lot of investment in the relationship with Nigeria through their leadership of ECOWAS, through the significant US business investment in Nigeria and through our security cooperation.

"Obviously, Nigeria is working through some very challenging security issues right now. And in that process, they're going to be a partner of the United States. We certainly believe we'll have an opportunity to further engage the Nigerian government through bilateral meetings going forward. But at this point, we just were not able to make it to Nigeria on this particular itinerary.

"I will say that we purposefully designed the  itineraries to be able to reach West Africa, South Africa and East Africa, and in West Africa, to visit Senegal, a French-speaking, Muslim-majority democracy that is an important partner of the United States and also provides a platform for the President to speak to the broader region.

"We are also looking at ways, at the President's town hall in South Africa with young African leaders, to draw in through technology young people in Nigeria and in Kenya, among other places, so that the President is using this trip to speak to the broader African audience. We recognize we'd like to go to as many countries as possible.''

BCraig: Well, your government has traded lives inside nigeria and is busy failing against Bok* H*. See link above.

Useless government can't even control its country - is the Nigerian administration.
Maybe you're new here but your comrades @Andrewza or @Fightepilot will advice you better that I don't indulge and forbid insultive arguements. Take note. Anyways I expected that you would give a refuttal or debunk or address what my ex-SADF comrade revealed to me, you should know the truth like he does not just about CAR but the current shape of the SANDF and it's exploitation by Zuma for self serving and ego-launching purposes, maybe you know the truth but is only too disappointed or extra-patriotic to reveal it since it might put you to a great disadvantage over our debate but if you realy don't know the dirty game Zuma is playing with your military then boy you have to go learn some more. And lastly you could only reply my last post by attacking my military, if I were you I would fight address the point raised so as seem mature.

And how do you know how old he is mm did you ask him.
You southafricans are only wasting your precious time here defending your government that decided to trade the precious lives of your soldiers just for some mining agreement with CAR. I personally know the root and crocks of the CAR saga so I am only enjoying the lies. I have also heard from a former SADF personel who enlightened me a lot about the rot in the SANDF that allows Zuma trade with it. He also lamented about lots of experienced SANDF personel leaving the service as retired SADF personel are not willing to help. You southafricans should quite the stress in defending your government because someone in my person is too enlightened to be decieved by teens who knows nothing about the polity and the military. My boys, its much more than weblinks, journalists, .co.za, photos, etcs .

andrewza: some points you may have missed out on.

SA was preparing for M23 attack on goma if the DRC army failed, has in they can not worry about civilians, just because it is a un base does not mean it is a refugee camp.

of those 93 cases only 15 were found guilty and that is 93 cases over the past decade or in another word 93 out of 26000, no punishment is ever brought against nigerian soldiers, there is video evidence of them murdering and torturing people (actually children) yet nigeria is blind to that, there are constant reports of police and military violence and abuse in northern nigeria is it all BH propergander. so lets see SA actually does something when her soldiers step out of line and nigeria closes her eyes.
You are talking poo. The last time I checked thesame Yvonne Ndege that made that "fictional" report was languishing in a Nigerien cell for what she can explain best. Now bear in mind that Konny's LRA is waiting for SANDF to deploy fully to Congo and we watch from there. Wishing SANDF all the luck.

I couldn't even believe that sowetanlive is a house of touts, senseless and illiterate people, can imagin how one South African was calling for xenophobic attacks on Foreigners. I personally think that apartheid is having a bad mental and social effect on most black southafricans so much that they still fear and respect the whites but hate other blacks that even helped them, one of them even suggesting that all white SouthAfricans should be deported. But to where? Don't get me wrong I don't support crime of any form, I believe criminals should face the law wherever and whenever they are found wanting no matter their race, country or religion without victimizing everyother person of thesame race . Please were you not the one who said we don't grow because we see NAIRALAND as a NIGERIAN stuff and so we should not use other social sites outside NIGERIA? And also since NIGERIA needs a "foreign" footprint maybe a South African helped Oluwaseun create NAIRALAND. The popular opinion here in PH is tilted in favour of Amaechi. You can help yourself out by tuning into any of these radio stations. Nigeria Info, CoolFm, Wazobia and, what have you.

Most callers are now asking what good has Jonathan's presidency brought to south south and Rivers State. The nearest possible time to deliver the east west road at this snail's speed could be around 2020. You may want to start telling us why any sensible rivers state indegene should leave a man that physically transformed their state for someone with zero presence even in his Village. Your propaganda can only work on people browsing from thousands of miles away.
You are a born liar! Let me tell you if you cast a poll on Rivers people about Amaechi's misfortune they will tell you Amaechi is been used to destabilize GEJ's re-election, they will tell you they want GEJ till 2019, they also believe that Amaechi has the constitution and human right to aspire for higher position but that he should understand the term TRAITOR, and that Amaechi will not be forgiven if he helps the north take back the Presidency no matter what he(Amaechi) does for the State, they also believe the SE must takeover from GEJ in 2019, they also believe GEJ is not directly hunting Amaechi but Southerners who believe that Amaechi is been used and has the support of GEJ and I also listen to those fm stations, your claim is biased . Rivers people believe some Northerners ganged up to aid boko haram against GEJ's government and so even believe APC is dead on arrival. I live in Rumuorlumeni and the roads here are death traps as work is been postponed always in guise of rains making it very difficult for people as there is a University here(Ignitious Ajuru University of Education). The people here in rumuorlumeni demand that Amaechi should give them back their Timothy and stay clear of their lives. Hence they don't care if hes impeached.

CraigB: More shameful conduct from a so-called researcher. Can't argue. Can't sustain a debate with a clear path and authority.

1. The F-7 - a Chinese brand jet was called cr*ap. An accusation you have clearly accepted as true and moved on from.

2. Now, you post articles which talk about the Chinese manufacturing sector.

The difference between 1 and 2 is simple

1 = the F-7

2. = the Apple computer and the iPhone.

The common denominator is China, but the difference is obvious.

Again, what kind of a researcher are you? grin grin Lost in the middle of a debate.

No debating skills. No research skills. No military industry knowledge.

I should go. You're wasting my time.
Ngwanu buru lawa!
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Donian007: 8:58am On Jun 18, 2013
CraigB: "Fake Researcher", never mind that you've been found wanting and your research skills cast in the shadow of doubt, now you've lost yourself in the middle of a debate, because you don't know how to formulate and stick to an argument. You've tied yourself in knots:

Here's the debate (not this wilderness that you're wandering in):

Naai-jeria: "the F-7 Jets are top jets"

South Africa: "No, they aren't. You were silly to even look at them!"

Naai-geria: "No I wasn't"

South Africa: "Yes you were! You bought cheap Chinese copies"

Naai-geria: "China is ranked 3rd and South Africa in the 30s"

South Africa" "oh, the same China that's been caught trying to copy South Africa's weapons? shocked"

So we pause here, because you've been lost. Your argument is in pieces grin

The point is that the China that you love so much finds value in South Africa's creations. No one is blaming China right now. We shall do that another day. Instead, we are saying to you that you cannot use China's ranking against South Africa because China loves our products to the point of trying to copy them.

Secondly, the point is also that South Africa is entitled to call the F-7 jets cr*ap given the above. The jets that you bought are rubb*sh Chinese copies. If they were Russian copies, we could talk and perhaps consider your views. But they are rubb*sh.

What kind of a researcher are you, dude? grin grin grin grin Can't even sustain a simple argument. You're all over the place.

Now, moving along - even the off-on-a-tangent argument that you are on is clearly off-the-mark, as your own countryman has exposed you on three counts!

grin grin grin You do not know the difference between a copy and a variation. You do not know the difference between a copyright and a patent. You do not know the difference between an R-series rifle and the Russian Kalashnikov. You do not know the difference between a hummer and South African vehicles. Basically, you do not know the industry that you claim to be a scholar of.

You are a fraud. Like Gibson of Lagooosss, who tried to get into London by claiming he's 15 when he was in fact 35. grin
