Politics / Re: Protests: Peter Obi Tells Tinubu To Address Nigerians by Donian007: 11:51pm On Aug 02
Shut up and shut it. This stupi.d blackmail using IPOB against Obi is stale, expired and nonsensical. Buhari was everywhere sometime ago threatening fire and brimstone over elections and even openly issued statements making light of the atrocities of BokoHaram yet super dunces like you queued up to campaign and vote for him. All of una dey ment.
blabulu2000:
....As if Peter Obi have the good intention of the country at heart ....A person who refuse to comment about activities and violence of IPOB. Terrorists group in the east but can quick response to the happening in other states ....How far as he solve the wanton killing and incessant sit at Home order in his region but can quickly speak about the violence in other region....this is pretentious. and hypocrisy or the highest order ....

President Tinubu. Knows how to solve the issue , he doesn't need his adulterated. Counsel or advice whose intention is to collapse the government ...

Peter OBI who cannot not solve Labour party internal crisis has suddenly become a professional national conflict resolution adviser to the government on national crisis .....what an irony!!!!

The President intervened as a concerned citizen who wants peace. He was publicly begged by the Rivers Elders who are loyal to Fubara to intervene. If he wants to intervene as the President and Commander-in-Chief , he will just declare a State of Emergency, and appoint a Sole Administrator.

If he appoints Wike as the Sole Administrator, the National Assembly will approve it. Anybody wey wan die, make e die, the President has spoken. This was what Wike was working towards, that was why he went to Rivers State to cause himself to be attacked and chaos will start, but Tinubu cautioned Wike to let Fubara be. If not, Nyezom Wike would have returned as the Sole Administrator of Rivers State and INEC will conduct another election which will be won by Wike's new stooge. Una go cry tire

Legend has it that:

If you are destined to collect slap in Kogi state. and your flight is on its destination to Abuja. Enroute abuja, when you reach Kogi. You will jump down anyway and anyhow so as to collect that slap. It was destined.

A man who is destined to Embarass himself will always find a way to collect the embarrassment. Even if it is by going from one place to another wey dem no invite am.

Reality check: If you watch the video, they all laughed at Obi after Apkororo said those words not jokingly but seriously. This is awakening to reality i am always talking about that has started manifesting.

No Christian vote anywhere to depend on. The true Christian believers believe the only way out of this current Nigeria situtation is to vote a competent man like Asiwaju , a proven candidate. Not depending on trial and error like Obi, who is not practical about even the quotes and figures he is dishing around. A man without manifesto. Someone that cant even honour his Political engagement and rallies. Skipping it like a spoilt brat missing lectures.

Nigeria are wiser now. It is no more that country where you can use religious partioning and division to attain an unrealistic political ambition. Apkororo is from south-south i guess and also a Christian. I spoke to my Ijaw friends yesterday, they said same thing. That the whole south-south rural areas are tilting to the tent of Tinubu. Even some south-south nairalanders are confirming it here themselves.

With the rate this is going and turning out. Peter obi will not even win a single state in South-EasT, the only hope left for him too now, is shaky.

gazeup1:
I created this new handle to hide my identity.

I got married 11 years ago. We both started working before we got married, but my salary was way above my wife's own. I was earning 195k while she was on 108k when we got married, after my MSC, I was promoted and started to earn 350k, this got to me and I started to misbehave, I was doing all sorts and would insult the hell outa her. As the cry cry girl, she would cry, and thereafter I would hear her praying. At times she would say she will one day be greater than me. That to me was an impossibility.

I can't even remember ever giving her money for home keep but we never lacked food at home (we delayed before having kids, so I don't see the need for me to give her monthly money and she never asked). I started giving her after we had kids. She agreed when I told her her money was for the home and mine for investment, but I never included her name in my properties. she knows this as well.

After our kids, it became very demanding, coupled with her office not increasing her pay, she resigned, and that was when I felt the impact of her income. Meanwhile, her pay was reduced to about 80k and mine was increased to like 600k as at when she resigned. In one month I started asking her to return back to her work as to me I was not ready to foot her bills, she never even asked for money, she would even say what I gave her is left 5k or more self at the end of the month.

Now her new journey - When I started disturbing about going back to her former office or getting a new job, she said never and asked me to stop giving her money but go to market to buy food myself. In less than 4 months to her resignation she started talking about online job here and there, I thought it was a scam so I warned her. One day, I was in the office when she said she needs me to help her wit the best laptop to buy, I tried to talk her down on buying one but she ended the call on me.

I got home to see her with a new laptop. fast forward, she paid for a training on how work from home without my knowledge, got her first job of about $200, I also washed her down on going that low for such an amount but she said it was better than her former 80k job, before I knew it, she started talking about $1,000, now it's $3,000, to $4,000 monthly. I earn lower than #1M, my wife gets over #2M monthly working from home. She helped me finished my house project, very transparent and would not hide any $ she earns.

I have not been able to forgive myself of all the things I did to her, the insults, talking down on her but in a way I think I pushed her to become who she is now. I remembered when she asked back then to open a joint account with her, I laughed her to scorn, like how would the ratio be. she saved over 6M and credited my account with everything, just for us to complete our home. I can't even produce 1M.

She doesn't seem hurt, but sometimes she reminds me of those words, I have never officially told her sorry neither have I really changed because I am just like that, I don't mean evil. I wanted her to braze up and never stay low.

Married, men, please how do I ask for her forgiveness? I don't think we have up to 2% of her type out there.

As I observe keenly I see that many of the people here who comment about the IPOB, ESN, UGM issue do not actually do it with all the variables, causes, effect, solutions, etc and with a balanced view. Some deliberately distort the history of this menace just to be politically correct, others even make unsubstantiated claims just to massage their blind and political and ethnic biases. Here I see many Nigerians who are blind, deaf and dumb to equity, justice and fairness. I have seen how misguided MNK and his group have been, I have also seen a President that is completely clueless, unintelligent and unfit for that exalted position.
Governors of the South East also created a vacuum in governance, while their people were being slaughtered at night much much earlier they put up acts that portrayed them as powerless and helpless.
As it stands Nigerians take the word of their security forces with a pinch of salt because of years of abuse, corruption and injustice perpetrated by these security personnel and a government that is usually indifferent. See ehn we can talk from now till tomorrow, until we have leaders who are ready to do right and citizens who are ready to stand United against bad leadership without ethnic, religious or blind political bias this country will go nowhere.

Can we stop this Nonsense already, all of you. We wouldn't be discussing such nonsense if not for the very stup*id and unintelligent people we have produced in power over the years who have absolutely no idea on what to do with it. This country is sinking deeper into all indices of a failed state. Can we not choose to be that generation that will pause and take a right turn? And see that whatever divisions and hatred and bigotry and injustice we perceive were planted by the political class just to have enough space to do as they like? Very sad that we've not leaders who truly understand what Nigeria needs.

We blaim Buhari or the federal government for everything that befalls us, we have terrorism and kidnapping/banditry in the North East/Central and West and now ESN/UNG palaba in the East. Now let's assume there is another terrorist group named- "Odua people's fighters or WSN".... etc then there will be chaos every where, am just sighting an example.
Don't let us forget that its the grass people or the poor that will suffer the most, and the soldiers would always be the ones called to clean up the mess. All these stupid young men joining armed group bearing dangerous weapons causing troubles in there communities will still be the ones that will suffer the most. There also jobless youth doing something meaningful with there lives rather than carrying ak's in other regions of the country.
Honestly I don't understand how the federal government mismanaged security in the region. If that's your point, then it's enough reason for the Oduduwa whatever to start bearing arms and turn another region to a blood sucking area. .

Buhari Appeals To US Over Insecurity , Wants AFRICOM In Nigeria

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Tuesday stressed the need for the support of the United States and other “important and strategic partners” in combating the security challenges facing Nigeria.

He said the support was necessary because the consequences of insecurity in Nigeria would affect all nations.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the President made the call during a virtual meeting with the US Secretary of State, Mr Anthony Blinken.

The statement was titled, ‘Security: President Buhari asks US to relocate headquarters of AFRICOM to Africa, warns of likely spill over.”

Apart from seeking the assistance of the US, according to the Presidency’s statement, Buhari also called on the US to consider relocating US Africa Command from Stuttgart, Germany, to Africa, nearer the Theatre of Operation.

Buhari said, “The security challenges in Nigeria remain of great concern to us and impacted more negatively by existing complex negative pressures in the Sahel, Central and West Africa, as well as the Lake Chad Region.

“Compounded as the situation remains, Nigeria and her security forces remain resolutely committed to containing them and addressing their root causes.

“The support of important and strategic partners like United States cannot be overstated as the consequences of insecurity will affect all nations hence the imperative for concerted cooperation and collaboration of all nations to overcome these challenges.

“In this connection, and considering the growing security challenges in West and Central Africa, Gulf of Guinea, Lake Chad region and the Sahel, weighing heavily on Africa, it underscores the need for the United States to consider re-locating AFRICOM headquarters from Stuttgart, Germany, to Africa and near the Theatre of Operation.”

The statement also quoted the Secretary of State as saying that he was pleased to make Nigeria part of his “first virtual visit to Africa.”

He added that he would be delighted to build on the foundation that was laid between the two countries over 60 years ago, disclosing that areas of discussion with Nigeria would include “how to build our economies back after the COVID-19 pandemic, security for vulnerable communities, and climate issues.”

Soldiers killed over 10 peaceful demonstrators and left scores more injured.
After Initial denial by the Nigerian Army that its officers were not at Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos, where peaceful protesters were shot and killed last Tuesday, the military has come out to say its officers were only ensuring compliance with a curfew put in place by Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, earlier that day.
Soldiers killed over 10 peaceful demonstrators and left scores more injured.
The Nigerian Army has now said its officers were simply ensuring compliance with the curfew put in place in Lagos State.
In a statement credited to the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Sagir Musa, said some people were trying to discredit the military and Nigerian Government.
Though Musa did not make direct reference to Tuesday killings at Lekki, he said, "Detractors both local and international have mischievously and deliberately misrepresented troops’ efforts to ensure compliance with the curfew imposed by legitimate civil authorities in Lagos and other states.
“These agitators are falsely accusing the NA of being responsible for the activities of the miscreants despite glaring evidence to the contrary.”
He also decried that the detractors are threatening to report the Nigerian Army to the International Criminal Court and also impose a visa ban on them from foreign countries.
“Criminal elements are threatening us with travel ban but we are not worried because we must remain in this country to make it better.
“The first time I travelled outside this country, I was already 50 years and a general, so I don’t mind if I live the rest of my life here,” Buratai said.
SaharaReporters had revealed that the soldiers involved in the attack on peaceful protesters were deployed from 65 Battalion, Bonny Camp, Victoria Island, Lagos.
“They came in two Hilux vans with at least eight bodies. Some were still alive when they returned. They dumped them at MRS Hospital. They told us clearly that it was Governor Sanwo-Olu that sent them,” a brother to one of the victims told SaharaReporters.
Contrary to the denial by the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu, that he knew nothing about the killing and maiming of peaceful #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate area of the state by personnel of the Nigerian Army, soldiers involved in the operation have since confirmed that they were actually drafted in for the mission on the request of the governor.

SAHARA REPORTERS

Is this a volte-face? Accepting that the army were indeed at Lekki Toll Gate after initial denials? Pray, tell.
