Students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso who are presently in Abuja have commenced a peaceful protest to the National Assembly complex.

The peaceful protest commenced after the students had submitted a notification letter to the office of the Inspector General of Police  at the Force Headquarters Central Area, Abuja.

Ajilete FM news, which has been monitoring the journey of the students since they took-off from Ogbomoso yesterday evening gathered that the office of the Inspector General of police acknowledged the receipt of their letter and gave a nod to their peaceful protest.

The students numbering about a hundred are led by the executive of the students Union Government of the institution.

They are in Abuja to further present the plight of the institution especially as regards its improper funding by the two owner states of Oyo and Osun before the National Assembly.

The situation led to an eight months industrial action, which was later resolved.

However non-payment of salary arrears of staff of the University and inability of government to meet the demands of workers ‘unions have again made ASUU LAUTECH branch to commence another round of indefinite strike action.

Meanwhile, Students of LAUTECH have taken the peaceful protest to the National Universities Commission, NUC, Abuja.

LAUTECH: Oyo, Osun pay N500m to end crisis

The Oyo and Osun state governments have paid N250 million each to the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) to end the crisis rocking the institution.

The Nation confirmed the development from a very top source in the university yesterday.

The source said: “Yes, both states have paid the amount as promised and the sum is now in the kitty of the university.”

LAUTECH students have been at home for eight months due to the industrial action by all categories of workers in the institution.

The crisis reached a peak last week when LAUTECH students protested to the Office of the Governor of Oyo State in Ibadan, the state capital.

While addressing them, the governor promised that each owner state would contribute a sum of N250 million to get back workers to their duty posts and build on it afterwards.

Governor Abiola Ajimobi said the sum would enable the institution to pay some salaries and reopen for academic activities before the end of this month.

Reacting, the President of the Students’ Union Government of the institution, Olatunde Bakare, commended the two governors, saying it was a way forward.

According to him, the sum, though not up to exactly what is needed to clear salary arrears for two months, would help kick-start the process of implementing the short term solution to the crisis.

Bakare said once the short term solution is implemented, it would pave the way for the
medium and long term solution the financial problem plaguing LAUTECH. He promised to confirm the payment.

I want to your opinion on this estimate, i think it's its high but my contractor insists there is no west we could do it cheaper.

Foundation for 6 flats, i.e Of 2bedroom each. 3flats ground floor and 3flats upstairs.

Within the last 24 hours; broadcast messages has been sent to all groups and all sorts of social platform in our citadel of learning about a 200Level Agricultural Economics student called *Ajayi Adewale Muktar* also known as *Wale Bouncer* even with a picture to prove the apex at which the illness has done damage to his organs.

Leukemia is a sort of cancer of the blood cells that affects the bone marrow which symptoms are extreme pains in the bones and joints, night sweats, feeling weak, bleeding and bruising easily, weight loss, discomfort etc. I am not mentioning this symptoms to mock him or make jest of him, as I deeply bow my head in despair to pen down this dark moments but to make us know our friend, our brother, a son to some parents, a future leader any kind of relation he fits in our dear life would be feeling right now.

According to our sources as at 19:36HRS 24th August 2016, that is 7:36PM some tests were carried out on him today and to our utmost suprise(not happy to tell you this), the doctors said "he needs to be flown out of the country(INDIA)" to receive proper care and treatment as the medical equipment for the treatment is not available on our dear soil.

In lieu of this, we are urging Ladokites far and near, Parents from all nooks and cranny of Nigeria to kindly help our dear brother with whatever is within our reach - although the amount hasn't been disclosed yet for medical proceedings.

I must be emphatic, he needs our support *Financially*, *Spiritually*.
