Griffon:Nice one I see what you did there. ![]() |
airmark:I am not looking for anybody to support anything, I'm just very beleaguered as to how supposed enlightened individuals will be blind to the obvious truth. |
Ibime:And this is why I admire your thinking. One which is devoid of sentiments and half baked informations. Its an eye sore seeing individuals who talk without brains. |
SkimpleD:This is what I was warning against few days ago, our current form might make people lose sight of the teams deficiencies and start setting a high standard for this team only to become massively dissapointed if and when a slump begins. While the team looks good, people are forgetting Ajax is the only big team we've won and also our defense isn't solid enough yet to mount a serious challenge. As for me, I just take every result as I see it while being very happy with team developments. |
Emaprince:On what grounds will you say mount is better than Alli?? Career wise, Alli is far more established and successful, statwise, the same. Mount is still developing, it's a massive blunder to place him above Alli. |
Ibime:Ibime, you've been eerily quiet on this sarri's tenure issue, what's your take? How would you rate the man? |
Again with the false sarri narratives, come on!!! ![]() |
Emaprince:No I beg to differ, he wasn't all hype, actually mason mount and Alli share similar playing patterns. Good positioning and movement around the opponents 18. A good eye for goal from midfield, good pressing and ball recovery from the front. They are very similar in their styles of play. Alli wasn't hyped, his stats backed him up, he has over a 100 goals and assists at a very young age. I just can't explain his sudden demise. |
PDPGuy:Too early for this question, just enjoy the moment as it is. If by late January, we're still within 6 points of the top, we can begin to dream of it. But for now, just enjoy the developments. |
nihilistjnr:What do you think about opening a new FPL league for the European sports section fans? The constant comments here about FPL indicate that we can have a much better thread than the other one. |
Greatihex:I really can't understand Alli's predicament. 2 years ago, he was England's best midfielder, his drastic fall from grace is very surprising. |
I think kepa has quite a small body frame for a keeper. Courtois and Cech will catch or at least deflect that ball away from goal most of the time. No matter how much kepa streches, his small palms and slender frame will not provide adequate cover. His strength is mostly his composure and accurate passing. |
Up and on we go. Come on Chelsea. ![]()
|
Pulisic again |
SkimpleD:Hopefully soon. I almost have a heart attack anytime an opponent has a chance at goal. |
Pulisic!!!! ![]() |
Ibime:haha big mistake. do you have any Leicester players? |
larride:I have just bought vardy now. No time to waste. What position are you now on nairaland fpl? |
I dey rush go buy vardy now now. Jesus see scores. People that have Leicester players will smile this weekend. |
BikeMan:Haha ![]() I dey like make my point clear, no blame me ![]() |
@nihilist, our ugly promulgated history is no secret. I'm in no mood for our ugly sparring today. If you're not being mischievous, you would highlight the points I made in that post and also show my subsequent recantations towards mourinho since then. There is something called evolution of ideas. I made that post 4 years ago, of course I have since renounced that position so why bring it up again if not tomfoolery? |
airmark:But I am not "emotionally" attached to him, I just choose not to rubbish his stay here or join in painting it as an abject disaster like you do. |
weedtaker:I can understand the weed you've over smoked hinders your ability to read well. ![]() |
nihilistjnr:You know You're being mischievous by highlighting just that part of my post made a very long time ago. Yes I stated that mourinhos first stint with Chelsea drew me to the club but how does that juxtapose the post I made up there ![]() You are comparing apples and oranges. And more so, I have abandoned that notion long ago, even mocking his disaster at man-u severally but you chose to overlook that in your vain attempt to be silly. |
I'm quite disturbed by what I am seeing here. ![]() I don't know how one outlining past events in our club means the person loves the past coach to the detriment of the present. Chelsea's fan base is really a complicated group, though understandably brought upon by the unstable nature of the club. Chelsea have consistently gone from extreme high to extreme lows. We're famed for our apparent lack of faith in managers and the fans have zero undrrstanding of the word loyalty. We consistently make the same mistakes. Under ancelloti, Chelsea played breathtaking football, smashing a lot of attacking records and winning the double in his first season, during this period he was praised and loved by all. The next season, the team was still performing fairly but man-u under Ferguson found their feet again and won the league and the fans who had earlier praised ancelloti turned on him and demanded his head. On this same forum, people argued that he didn't know what he was doing and that the players were responsible for his success not him. He was sacked and went on to achieve greater things. Likewise under mourinhos second tenure, he brought back the league to SB after four years, only for most fans here to turn on him the minute things went bad, maybe sacking him at that point was a good decision for the team but my problem is that people here laid all the blame on him while absolving the players of any. Like wise conte and sarri. Coaches who started extraordinarily well and liked by the fans only to be turned against the moment things went pear-shaped. Of course, all these managers had some degrees of faults of their own making, however, can someone tell me what is wrong in outlining the positive aspects of their stay here? Once a coach has been sacked, many people just cast them off as failures, a lot of fans here will tell you how they hate ancelloti, Mourinho, conte or sarri. But these are coaches with varying degrees of success. Chelsea fans are mostly derided by other team fans as the least intelligent and intellectual, why do we give them the ammo needed for their derision? Someone says something and a lot of people latches on to the bandwagon whether it's true or false. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging the good qualities of other coaches work. That I'm doing that does not mean that I don't like Lampard or wish him to fail. Any Chelsea fan who bears ill will towards the club is clearly a troll and not a supporter. Lampard's tenure has got off to a flying start and we wish and hope that it is an indicator of great things to come. |
airmark:the way you dey misyarn and obsess over this sarri matter just dey vex me. Any match we win, The first thing you go comment na "thank God the chain smoker is gone" as though he never achieved any thing good here and was a terrible person or the worst manager we have ever had and that is blatantly wrong. At the end, we are all chelsea fans and have same passion for the club but you mostly pass information not substantiated or borne out of sentiments and it's not easy to the eye seeing such. Anyways, I'm sorry, let this episode end. |
nihilistjnr:The point I was making in that post was simple. Chelsea fans should manage their expectations this season and not let this current form make us lose complete sight of our shortcomings, he was just being mischievous pointing out that line alone and capitalizing on it. Whether 5 it 10, the fact is that we were on a very long positive unbeaten streak. Whether I said winning or drawing shouldn't matter because the point is we were very successful at that point before crashing and any sane person understood what I meant. This sarri matter just dey obsess the guy, for what reason is what I can't understand. ![]() |
airmark:Clearly you have a problem and I have just taken note of that. Any smart and intelligent individual who read my previous post will understand it immediately and deduce it's implications but it seems I need to break it down for you. When sarri started, he started so well, and even exceeded expectations and was praised by all. Sarri's system was successful instantly, HE WENT ON A 16 MATCH UNBEATEN RUN, WINNING 12 MATCHES AND DRAWING 4. At a point, we were the ONLY unbeaten team in EUROPE'S TOP 10 LEAGUES. We were also topping epl table. Sarri had picked up epl manager of the month, twice I think. Likewise hazard notching up goals and scooping the monthly awards. The team looked perfect at that point with his system. We lost our 1st match of the season to Tottenham on the last week of November thus offsetting a series of bad results. His inability to tweak his system or adapt to his opponent became his undoing. He was stubborn with his tactics, believing that only his way would work. However, toward the end of the season, things began to change positively again. Kante had now become soo good under sarri, our midfielders became adept at possessing the ball and their movements were good. RLC and HUDSONS careers were established. Hazard had a personal best season. Results too improved and we ended up with our primary objectives which was to qualify for the Champions League and we also won the Europa league. You seem to be the only one who needs a reminder of events that happened in just less than a year. I have just observed that you suffer from amnesia and clinical dementia. I pray for you and hope you get better. I wish you the best. But please, since you know you have this problem, don't be arrogant in your limited knowledge. Verify your information before posting so that gullible fellows would not follow you behind in soaking up wrong information and boasting ignorantly about it. Thanks. |
chelseabmw:We dey manage oo. E don tey person sight you oo, You just create thread, abandon us run, make we dey suffer this citadel boys alone. ![]() Anyway, how you see our small boys na? ![]() |
airmark:It seems when you hear sarri's name, you block your brain from analyzing and processing information correctly. Abeg stop to dey quote me on top this sarri matter. I said he went on ABOUT a 10 game winning streak, MEANING it might have been close to that. We even topped table at a point. He actually set a premier league record. If I dig some posts here then, you would see how everybody praised him INITIALLY. It was his inability to adapt to different systems that was his undoing after our mid season disaster but he eventually ended the season on a high. Please be objective to facts. I will not be one of those who will engage in a mindless back and forth with you. Go and continue teaching your brainless students sentimental nonsenses and unsubstantiated misinformations.

chelseabmw:You're really scarce my nigga. How far na? ![]() |
lordfalcao:I agree. That December period has mostly been our make or break period of the season for the last few seasons. |
