I had lundstrom on my bench and otamendi starting, only for guardiola to put otamendi in the last minute That man na bastard. |
Thecassanova:That's Very good from him. It keeps all players on their toes. I hope Tammy scores today sha, he has been on quite a drought. |
Ladies and Gentlemen, get the ground ready, we are coming for a party!!! |
Nairaland is fast becoming a beggars dumping site. Every page you now open must have one or more people begging. It's quite disturbing, I suggest Seun creates a section or thread for all these people so that the generous individuals can have an avenue to help if they so wish. Rather than littering every thread with a beggar, it's difficult knowing those who genuinely need help and the Gboys. |
Leyqute: ![]() Wetin person no go see for nairaland? ![]() Where you get this gif from? So funny ![]() |
BikeMan:I don't know why you are sounding like this?? You are lost in your belief that some Chelsea fans wish to see their club fail just because they criticize the shortcomings of the manager who lost a match he wasn't expected to lose at home. You've lost your sense of unbiased intuition. That's wrong, no Chelsea fan wants his team to lose. You say people should wait for reality to set in. But the reality is that we have just lost a match we shouldn't have lost a major rival at home and more so we can't say we deserved victory, so stop spouting vagaries all in a bid to sound logical. If our team wins Watford during the weekend AS EXPECTED, we will all be happy and celebrate and continue to hope for consistency and more team growth. Just stop towing this abrogated vindictive path you are hell bent on. |
BikeMan:all out war ![]() I don't stan sarri, whatever that means, he doesn't even make my top3 list of best coaches we have had. My favorite coaches are Mourinho, Ancelloti and Conte. Neither is he in the worst 3 category. AVB, scholari and Benitez takes the cap. I appear to "stan" sarri to you only because once again, I don't fall in line with those who make a former coach appear totally worthless despite achieving some things. You are misconstruing my positions. My being unbiased towards sarri seems to you like I "stan" the man which is false. I AM JUST BEING OBJECTIVE. |
SkimpleD:Get away from here you this fake fan. Carry your negative energy far from here. Dem no born you well to criticize our legend Lampard. You this fucking_ hater. Remove your thinking cap and be welcomed to our great citadel. ![]() |
Segedinho:If you know me well, you would know I. I'm not one who let's sentiments cloud my sense of judgement. I strive to be objective in my assessment of situations. I have praised Lampard here consistently, I always point out his obvious progress, the adaptation to opponents, his excellent public man management, his attacking style of play and belief in youth. Yesterday was the very FIRST time I criticized him because there were obvious faults of his which costs us the match. In our previous matches we lost, I didn't criticize because the team played very well, there was enough done in those matches lost that made us feel that the results were undeserved but not yesterday. Our team played quite poorly and there were changes he could have made to change the dynamics of that game hence my constructive criticism. I don't wish our team bad, I can never do that, this loss really does pain me, worse so is the opponents we lost to, our major rival who we believed we stood a very good chance of beating at our home. You certainly can understand why I would criticize Lampard. I certainly don't hate him and I wish him the best. |
BikeMan:Wow!! So you fault Lampard too but you keep attacking any post that points out faults too. Clap for yourself, you try. |
Leyqute:I tire my brother, it just seems like they don't want to see anything wrong at all with Lampard yesterday. The guy looks like the real deal no doubt, but he faltered yesterday, no wrong in pointing that out. At this point, I give up, if the Chelsea fan base refuse to be accurately objective in our assessment of the team, na just to dey by the sidelines dey watch be that. Everybody suppose be student of the citadel be dat. ![]() |
airmark:At this point, we're not 100% sure of UCL qualification ourselves, there is nothing wrong in taking this "small cup" seriously. Chelsea's strength over the seasons have always been our penchant for winning trophies no matter how bad our season is, these small cups do help when the league and UCL is out of reach. Because truthfully the EFL cup and FA cup are the logical chances we have at a trophy this season. |
Emaprince:Nobody is waiting for an opportunity to say I told you so, I believe that no Chelsea fan would want his team to fail. Man-u came with a predictable formation and tactics yesterday which was to defend well, be very compact in the midfield and strike on the counter, and this worked for them, they successfully restricted us from passing the ball forward centrally, we were restricted to the wings where the channels were also blocked, He should have switched tactics and matched their formation yesterday. Nobody would criticize Lampard if we had played so well and not deserve to lose but we didn't create chances yesterday, our only goal came from a superb solo effort unlike other goals. We had very few shots at goal. Man-u executed their game plan perfectly and got their desired result which is painful because before the match, we seemed in a better position to beat that team. |
BikeMan:But that's what I've been saying since and getting trashed for. I have been advocating for accurate perspective when it comes to the team, which led to my being called a negative energy. And most importantly, Lampard should not be immune to criticism when he makes a mistake, unless you chose to be blind to those mistakes. While praising his good progress, there is nothing wrong with constructive criticism. Many teams rotate teams and still win, one thing Lampard has shown his adeptness at doing was to tweak his formation according to our opponents faced, so why not yesterday? If he had used the 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 formation yesterday like he did against wolves or Lille, we would have matched man-u in midfield and created better chances than we did. You may call this a small cup but it's still a cup nonetheless, if the scummies finish 11th and win the "small cup", and we go trophyless, they might be adjudged to have had a better season than us for winning something, just saying. Anyways, yesterdays loss doesn't take away Frank's magnificent work so far but when he makes a mistake, it's okay to mildly criticize. |
afrodoc2:chisos ![]() that guy is a huge loss to this forum. |
I prefer losing to every other team than the scummies, the pain is tripled. Anyway this result serves as a reality check for those who were easily carried away by our recent form. Clearly, in my bid to make us see this team in retrospection, I have been called a "negative energy" on this platform. People did forget that Lampard himself is still a rookie developing together with his team. Anyways, I commend him for his courage and consistence in his belief in our talented youngsters, however they say "too much of everything is bad". I don't think this was a game for Gilmore and guehi in defense. Not every young player is ready to be thrust into the first team neither will all of them have what it takes to succeed at the highest level, Chelsea is still an elite club, And more so considering the opponent faced today, he should have been better prepared. His tactics and selection today was very faulty but I believe today is one of those moments he learns his lessons on his upward mobile learning curve. He has started this season well and not withstanding today's result, there is still enormous positive belief and goodwill towards him and the future of this great club. #KTBFFH |
Shit!! boys come on ![]() |
I don't expect us to lose to this man-u team. Our front three lack communication, our midfielders are not creating enough spaces for the attackers and Alonso is just brain dead defensively, wan-bissaka is chewing him raw. I think Hudson and Pulisic should switch positions as Hudson looks more dangerous as an inverted winger. I expect Lampard to add more bodies to the midfield like he did against wolves. There is enough hope for us to win this game but the youngsters need to do more. |
Sholaani:I said 1 month not 1 year. |
Am I the only person seeing that the picture is clearly photoshoped?? |
What the fuck_ did I just read?? Wetin musa no go see for gate?

People always forget something important when commenting about this long lasting battery issue. The phones then were basically made for just calls and SMS. Their basic functionallity was so simple unlike today you have smart phones that multi task so many functions. You play HD internet connected game while video calling over the internet, you can watch binge watch HD movies and browse etc. these are all battery sapping functions which the Nokia phones didn't have hence the longer lasting batteries. A smart phone battery can go a full month without dying if it's used only for calls too and nothing else. |
popizaino:I'm looking forward to our matches against the top teams during the festive period, those results I believe will determine our fate this season and give an accurate view of the team's overall growth. My greatest joy this season however has been the faltering of our opponents this season, man-u and Tottenham are not looking like top 4 teams at the moment and that plays fully to our advantage. So far as they continue in their misery, we have no problem so Long may it continue. |
thorrvik55:I share that hope with you that things turn out fine for us, that we win trophies while playing beautiful football with our brilliant young boys who can carry us on that winning platform for a decade, however while we hope for this, there is no problem in advocating for caution. Failure is always a possibility, especially now, with all the odds stacked against us, it will be a miracle for us to succeed immediately, so once again there is no fault in advocating for patience and caution. People are already beginning to think we can win the league, that's a very low possibility right now. I don't know why he would call it a "negative energy", we must try to distinguish emotion from reality. |
BikeMan:I'm sorry if my cautious optimism or objectivity seems like a "negative energy" to you but as an old Chelsea fan, I'm tired of the constant cycle of fire and hire system at Chelsea. This is not the first time a new manager starts relatively well and everybody is happy only for a slump to begin and we succumb to pressure by sacking him. Although this time feels different, with our legend as a coach and an exciting group of our young players, one is enamoured with what he sees and tempted to begin to dream big. But with our numerous past experiences you never can tell what happens when we hit a rough patch. Chelsea's board has always been unpredictable. So forgive me for not basking in the euphoria of the moment like you. I'm just being cautiously optimistic. |
nitrogen:2 wins na him dey enter your head, don't worry on Wednesday, our revenge for that 4-0 go sweet. No disappear from thread oo. |
BlueAngel444:Ferguson actually had a consistent system for a very long time which was the 442. He usually played an attacking system with two strikers up front. If you noticed, I usually paired the words philosophy with system. Ferguson might not have had a defined philosophy but he had a consistent system upon which he was successful, success which needed a lot of time to nurture. I also believe Lampard will be successful, I just hope the time for that success to materialize will be short and not so long. |
BlueAngel444:I can't say anything for certain right now. Lampard is a manager with less than 18 months under his belt, so one cannot objectively assess his pattern although early signs indicate the latter. Someone who will groom players but you can't tell his philosophy. |
thorrvik55:I don't understand. Is this for only Chelsea players? |
BlueAngel444:There are two kinds of successful coaches, the one's who need above average players to succeed, What they are good in doing is organizing the good players to become a powerful unit in a very short space of time. These are coaches like Guardiola, Mourinho and zidane. On the other hand, you have coaches who are very adept at developing average players to become world beaters, they follow a certain philosophy or create a system that allow these average players to thrive. Coaches like Kloop, Pochettino, Sarri, Simeone and arsene Wenger. These coaches usually need an extended period of time for their works to be seen and their philosophy/system to be implemented. For the former, without the huge money, success is not guaranteed, but with the latter, they rarely spend astronomically to achieve success but need time. |
HewlettPackard:I agree that everybody has right to an opinion but when you see an opinion riddled with lies and derived from just sentiments, it's difficult to just ignore because if that lie goes on and on, it starts to look like the truth to gullible people(of which there seem to be a lot here), which is why some posts filled with lies can't be easily ignored. As for the insult, it's just me following the carrot and the stick principle if you understand. |
