nateevs: No mate, my logic is not flawed for the simple reason that I accept that Tammy is over-performing at this level for his age. You cannot call Tammy disappointing at any point of this season. If he was truly disappointing, he would have cost at least £50m by today's transfer market standards. PL leading scorer. He cost us zilch, he had no expectations to rise up to, no promises to fulfill, and generally nothing to prove. In fact, if he'd scored no single goal till date, no one would have worried. That's fact! How then do you call that disappointing? Disappoint who? My boy is doing more than we bargained for. You probably want to say that having seen what he can do, you want to see him do more. That's understandable. Your perception and appreciation of his abilities have changed. But that view cannot be held in isolation of his age (I repeat again, just turned 22 in October), his PL experience and general experience of his managers and coaches. There is no precedence for any expectation of Tammy to score against big teams. Hence, no disappointment can be attributed. Please leave Tammy where he is abeg. Like I say, perspective is everything. 22 year old who's scored 35% of our total goals? Remove those goals, where do you think we will be? With the number of chances, this team creates every match, it's logical to deduce that many strikers would score a reasonable amount of goals. quite alright, many expected less from him prior to the season commencing, however that low expectation was because of the uncertainty of how the team overall would play or perform, but the team attacks quite well and sets up loads of chances, it's expected that the striker scores those goals. By the way, I'm not saying we should discard him or stop using him, I commend the efforts he has made so far but it will be absolutely necessary that we have a healthy competition upfront so that other strikers can perform well when called upon. Squad rotation will be required this period and for Giroud to perform optimally, he has to feel trusted, that's my point. |

Ibime: Giroud has been in Chelsea two years now, and has been utter shyte, to where we preferred Morata in certain games.
Start of season, Giroud had starting shirt and was doing nothing, till Tammy came and blew him away.
Yet we keep hearing Giroud name on here. Are people blind? Even Batshauyi record as a substitute striker has always been better than Giroud, abi is it Europa league stats against Thessalonian farmers that is confusing everyone?. The Arsenal reject has 5 fücking premier league goals in 2 years. Even when Morata was fumbling, Giroud could not take shirt despite the coach not wanting to start Morata.
If I hear anyone mention Giroud name again here ehn. Giroud was reliable for us last season. As a matter of fact, one could argue that Giroud single-handedly won us the Europa league with his plethora of goals. Your attempt to belittle his efforts last season is very feeble. He scored more than 15 goals last season and that's very okay for a 2nd striker. My problem is that Lampard has scarcely used him this season even in games where one feels his superior holdup and linkup play combined with his good aerial ability would have changed dynamics of those games. Giroud has a legit case to get better minutes than he has currently. |

DExponential: I don't know what your problem is with Tammy. He has done pretty well for us so far. When you're free, bring out Giroud/Morata's seasonal stats let's see how 'badly' Tammy is doing. Tammy needs to do better in the big games simple and short. Giroud might have flopped today but one game isn't enough to judge a player. The chances he missed today could also have been missed by Tammy. I want better competition upfront. it will help us in the long run. |

nateevs: Please, please, stop saying Tammy has been disappointing in big games and UCL games. This is the most disingenuous statement uttered in here this season.
Not even us, ardent supporters of Tammy thought by now, he would have scored 5 goals, let alone 11.So he's not scored against any big team so phucking what Is this what you expected at the start of the season? So where is this disappointing feeling coming from? From the highlighted posts, you can see how flawed your argument is. I said that Tammy has disappointed in the big games this season and that is a blatant FACT. We have played about 12 big games this season including the UCL games and he has only one goal to show for it. That's stark poor, especially when you consider the amount of chances this team has created, even in the big games, it's logical to expect the striker to score goals. Yes, I agree with you that there are genuine reasons why he doesnt score goals on the big stage ie, lack of experience and limitations of the manager and the club in general but the FACT still remains that he has massively underwhelmed in the big games. There is no fault in advocating for Giroud to have a little run in the team. It will encourage a healthy competition between them and Giroud has posted good numbers for his country where and when he has been given the chance. |

airmark: When i read his post after the match i laughed because i remembered how he queried Lampard for not using Giroud. You cannot use only one match to judge a player, after all, Tammy has been very disappointing in our Champions League campaign and the big games overall this season. Giroud has been very productive for France this season and rightly deserves a run in our team. That he did not turn up today does not mean he wouldn't perform better subsequently, but he needs a run in the team and to know the manager trusts him so he could perform better for us, especially in this tight fixture period where we would expect healthy competition between the strikers for them to perform optimally. |

BikeMan: Finally, you showed your true colours chameleon. We know you've been praying so hard for Chelsea to lose. So we lost against City and Westham and we've slumped? LMAO! And who said Chelsea is contending for the UCL or the PL. All we've been saying is that they've performed far more than we expected but you wanted us to be sad and hope for a slump. GTFOH fake fan! You are an Idiot, a very confused one as well. In the course of our winning run against the small teams, Some people here believed we could win the league and I advised for caution, and since then you began to misconstrue my posts as attacks against the club. Tell me what was wrong in the post I made below? donjazet: This is what I was warning against few days ago, our current form might make people lose sight of the teams deficiencies and start setting a high standard for this team only to become massively dissapointed if and when a slump begins.
While the team looks good, people are forgetting Ajax is the only big team we've won and also our defense isn't solid enough yet to mount a serious challenge. As for me, I just take every result as I see it while being very happy with team developments. You said I was expecting only negative results and I've tried to make it very clear to you that this team is not YET ready to challenge at the top. After every match we win, you keep calling me out in a flawed concerted effort to shame me and I remind you to wait till the December fixtures to truly ascertain the teams level and correct that notion in your confused head, that I want the team to fail. |

Bikeman, this is the I TOLD YOU SO moment. When an experienced fan says something, you listen.
I told you to be patient till this festive period and fixtures before assessing the team correctly.
This is not the 1st or 2nd time, the team goes on a winning run before a costly slump. The teams winning run blinded you to its limitations thus exposing your football analytic ineptitude and inexeperince.
Just forget about any title challenge or UCL run and hope for a top four finish. It will be a miracle/anomaly for Lampard and these boys to win anything. |

BikeMan: Still desperately looking for your "I told you so"
This team will not slump! Clearly, you lack comprehension skills if that's what you understood from my post. We are yet to win any big team comprehensively this season and I am telling you to accept the results as they are this season. Before this season began, I believe our expectations for the team were low, and clearly we're not appropriately developed yet, so why the high bar? |

SkimpleD: Guy, you saw the future.
There is just no ‘extra bite’ in this team to see out games with big teams and that’s really disturbing. I am convinced that a lot of individuals here analyze football sentimentally rather than objectively, that's why i dont comment as much. I told people to wait for this festive period before analyzing our team accurately only to be seen as being pessimistic. Folks are already setting high bars for this team in the champions league, because of our winning run, forgetting the limitations of the team. As i've said previously, i'll just take the results as i see them this season. |
