EmmanuelScott1:This!! I'm really hoping a new 3rd force emerges. That's why I'm emphasizing on people going to register to vote right now. We still have a lot of time to debate on candidates but time to register to vote is running out.
|
PDPGuy:And you think it's a funny situation.
|
donstan18:I never talk finish, him drop another one. ![]() Expect the fool to reply with one of these.

Whenever donstupidity is asked to make an opinion, he will resort to useless memes because he can't even align words correctly in his head. He will start Posting useless pictures like these. ![]()
|
donstan18:You see! You've not made a choice or a decision but you go around, criticizing everyone's decision. That's what you do best, criticize and criticize when you don't even have an idea of what exactly you want. Call for Tuchel's head, call him a racist but you don't even have an inkling who you would think can be a replacement, it's all about the criticism. Foolish somebori. |
izzou:I know it's not voting time but the window for the registration is closing. After next month, you cannot register to vote again. As for candidates choice, I disagree with you, you should already have your set of values and know the candidate that aligns closest with them. And moreso, our sights shouldn't only be set on the presidency, let's not forget the governorship, senatorial candidates and our constituency representatives at the national and local level. |
izzou:Have you registered to vote? Do you have your PVC ?? Have you done your research on the candidates, who do you prefer to be our next president? |
Joezinho:Have you registered to vote? Do you have your PVC?? Have you done your research on the candidates, who do you prefer to be our next president? |
andrewbaba44:That's just one aspect of it, but you're correct, the fact that he's not been in the system for more than 10 years now is a key selling point. Secondly, he is famed for being stingy, Peter obi had a lot of political problems because he was not the greasing of arms type. He fought against the likes of victor umeh them because they wanted access to Anambra state coffers and he refused. He refused to play the politics of godfatherism. He was able to come back to Anambra governorship seat through the Catholic archdiocese, the states labor union and the civil service. Anambra is deeply religious state and the priests and bishops are quite active in political issues. And he cajoled them by giving them back control of a lot of schools in the states. anyways, I digress. Peter obi's famed frugality is what we desperately need right now. Pros of a peter obi presidency; 1. Lowering the cost of governance. Be rest assured that all this news we used to hear about aso villa clinic taking 5 billion yearly will be a thing of the past. Excessive aides and offices will be made redundant. 2. Putting together a team of technocratic government. Peter obi's commissioner of health was a medical doctor, his commissioner of works was an engineer. His commissioner of education was a retired state principal. It's only irrelevant posts like women affairs and so that he used for political compensation and the likes. Key jobs are given to professionals in that field. 3. He will close those leaking taps. I'm sure corruption will be minimized because stopping corruption starts at the top. He has consistently said that politics made him even poorer. 4.He's a hands on person; unlike the skeleton at aso rock right now. He's not the delegate type that delegates everything. He's a workaholic. Him and wike are very similar here. 5. He's not a part of the current system. Nigeria needs revamping, not a continuation. We need a full about turn in the direction we're heading and Obi is that breath of fresh air. I've made my case for him. The disadvantage of men like tinubu, wike, osinbajo, atiku is that they've all been part of the system. They continue to raid and loot our state and national treasuries, we need an end to that. If not Obi, hopefully someone new. |
EmmanuelScott1:The truth is, at this point, many youths who are actually active on social media are still undecided about this. They're still apathetic to our politics and are not just interested enough to actually vote. If only we knew how many we are in number and the power we have to tilt the election, we would take this seriously. People are always saying the votes are not online, but thats where the biggest rallies can be had. I wish we can sit up and take This seriously. |
raumdeuter:Key word, WORST CASE! As in, no other logical choice to make. That's where, there is no obi, no sowore, no moghalu. That's me saying, rather than do NOTHING, I do something. I settle for the lesser Devil. |
donstan18:Have you registered to vote? Do you have your PVC? Have you done your research and settled on a candidate? Pertinent questions for yourself. |
ribbit:Are you registered to vote? Do you have your PVC? Now, who is your preferred candidate so far? It's not enough to criticize, do your own due diligence and make your choice now. |
We've said it before, Peter obi is not a saint, but what he is, is the best of the rest. Voting Tinubu or osinbajo is an endorsement of this past administration and a continuation of the malady wrought upon us the last 8 years. Things are soooo bad from how they were in 2015, mind you which we thought was also bad. This turned out to be 5 times worse. This administration effectively set us back decades. An economic failure, both fiscal and policy wise. This administration which tinubu and osinbajo are a key part of, promised to end corruption in Nigeria. Today, we're seeing with our eyes how terrible it has become, with the flagrant abuse and the dollarization of our politics. It's not even been up to one month I made my choice on obi. Obi keeps increasing his followership because people have looked for who the better alternative to atiku, tinubu, wike, osinbajo are, and people have settled on the best among the rest. If there was no obi, I might look on sowore or moghalu or worst of all, at frustration levels, Osibanjo. BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO GET INVOLVED. GET YOUR PVC. |
donstan18:You really have to be the most stupid he-goat I've ever come across in this life. Like, you say the most foolish things with a certain kind of confidence that is just mind boggling. You love to criticize and criticize but you can barely proffer any reasonable solution. You are incapable of taking positions on issues. You would shout "sack tuchel, sack tuchel" but you can't proffer a better replacement. You see a manager who was on the cusp of quadruple, you call him "overrated". A Christian who doesn't believe in bible. You really are stupid and confused my friend. Now we are talking about the way forward for our country, I'm sure you've not even registered to vote but here you are, criticizing the choices of others without even stating where or who you stand with. Aren't you just an ugly idiot? ![]() |

Ibime:Lagos state is the biggest city in the whole Africa. It's bound to generate a lot of money. Partly by being the capital of Nigeria (biggest African country) for 100 years. Tinubu just created soo much avenue to siphon money for himself. No Lagos governor has ever failed because the state is simply too big to fail economically. But when you look at their public infrastructure, you see the failure of his policies. |
Ibime:So what do you advise we the youths to do? Fold our arms and follow you and laugh at how the politicians are mocking us to our faces and sharing our wealth for themselves? Give into the hopelessness and sorrowful pain of the situation. I get that you're now safe in UK but you could at least join in the struggle to lobby for us to make efforts in changing the situation.

Wise words from David.

raumdeuter:Time will tell the party I will vote for. My candidates at all level would be spread across the parties, I'm sure of it. You've still not answered who you wish to be Nigeria's president next year? Who is your favorite contestant and why? |
raumdeuter:Stop comparing American elections to that of Nigeria? Americans are divided along ideological lines. One party stands for this and the other stands for the opposite, be it abortion, immigration, gay marriage etc. you would rarely ever see an American cross carpet between parties because of these ideological differences. In Nigeria no such divide exists. Both parties are the same thing, all serving their interests. Which is why we looked at Peter obi and saw someone who looked different or at least better than the rest. Wike is not in it to make it better for Nigerians, he's a megalomaniac who's in it for the raw power and ego trip, tinubu is it for purely egocentric reasons too. Someone who knows his own body is now failing him too but just wants to be there by all means. I am not voting on party lines, next election,I'm voting candidates. Peter obi's personal ambition is far less than the rest, it could even be argued that it's his supporters who have propped up his campaign. Egging him to run. I mean, the man has just left the better platforms where he had better chances of winning to seek an independent platform deviod of all these moneybagging hobnobbing. That's selflessness right there. Nigeria's biggest problem is voter apathy. I'm sure that on this thread, not more than 10 people have their voters card. If you have your voters card on this thread, please hit the like button, let's see. Watch and see how low the number will be. |
I think it's funny that . Any people here keep saying, people on Twitter don't vote, what of here kwanu? How many of us here have got their voters card?? How many have gone for simple voters registration? Abi are many of us who use here not also twitterers?? The youths are not incentivised enough. We can debate our most preferred candidates later but please lets go and get our PVC. Let's get involved in this election. The time is now.

raumdeuter:This is obviously not true. Before 2013? Was it a 2 party system?? Off my head I know about 6 parties that were strong regionally. Only PDP was the behemoth. ACN-4 governors APGA 2 governors, labor party 3 governors, oshomole, mimiko of Ondo, CPC 3 governors, nasarawa and some, ANPP 1 governor. Now today we still have some small regional parties with strong sponsors, senators and reps; APGA, ypp, nnpp, etc. .what's to say we don't emulate France, Brazil or india that also uses presidential system and has multiple strong parties? |
Itsrm:Security?? Surely you didn't say that. ![]() Rivers state that has the highest number of cultists in Nigeria? Rivers state where for 2 years, it's citizens put themselves on lockdown from night time because of area boys? Rivera state that has the highest number of politicians killed by their rivals? Wike would be worse than anybody because the worst kind of leader you can have is one who has no fear of even his subjects. He will be a tyrant worse than abacha. Just look at how he has converted rivers state Treasury to his personal wallet. The highest payed state in Nigeria. Wike is a terrible Human being and leader. |
raumdeuter:I want to transform my idealism into realism. I don't "fan" people as such. I don't revere Peter obi but I know that he's the best among the rest. He is not as crooked as the rest, not as shameless in theft as the rest, an astute communicator and economy brainaic. I prefer him to the rest and I would put effort towards that. I am ready to even donate when the time came because I know he's not the looting type and I wish him not to be. That's working ideals into reality. Now I ask you dayo, who is your preferred candidate and why? |
Itsrm:That's why we're trying to change that. Nigeria is in this situation because our democracy is still relatively new. Many of our parents are apathetic to voting because they grew up with military dictatorships so they couldn't teach their Children what they didn't know or do. But we can change that!! Many of our parents now are on WhatsApp or at least listen to the news and the news reports what goes on online. We the youths need to organize strongly. I marched for peter obi last week Saturday and it was a thrilling experience. Nobody paid me or anyone there. We just saw the places we were to meet up on Twitter and we were not too much but it was nice making new friends who were passionate about the direction of Nigeria. LET US GET INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS. I have my PVC ready, do you?? You that is social media savvy, have you registered to vote? |
Unlimited22:It's almost as if they are celebrating the status quo. Like they are very much okay with the current ruling class and cannot dare to see beyond this. It's mind boggling indeed. I don't want to think anybody here really supports Tinubu or Atiku or wike. These are all confirmed thieves. National looters, corrupt entities. People who will only continue to work for the elite and corrupt class in the country. We are still at that stage where we can hope for the very best. Not continue to stick up for this corrupt lot. |
I can't wrap my head around people giving up soo early. In 2014, PDP was the largest political party in Africa and they didn't believe they would lose power. A 2nd strong force emerged and people said, the party would implode before 2015 and they weren't strong enough to win a national election. Come 2015, they DID. Corruption was high, we had a disgraceful first lady, soo much fuel ques and economic disruptions. People wanted a breath of fresh air and voted in the new force. They have FAILED. Now we rise again and do what we did in 2015. Vote them out. AT ALL LEVELS.
|
Android22:I fail to fall into the mindless hopelessness of our politics. I choose to believe that there is still a glimmer of hope. Enough can happen within a year to shift the balance of power in Nigeria. It took only TWO YEARS after the formation of APC for them to take power from the PDP who people said was invincible. I independently campaigned vigorously for them then, I was ecstatic when they won, thinking there will be change, it didn't work out. Now we go again. |
izzou:Where's this rubbish coming from? Are you not aware that within the last few months peter obi has visited 30 states in Nigeria to canvass for delegate votes just like others? He didn't stand a chance because others who have looted our national and state treasuries dry are blinding people with money and that's simply not his style. He even became a governor in Nigeria via the courts because he didn't subscribe to godfatherism. We as the youthful Nigerians should not just accept the status quo and give up. We know we have the numbers to carry out a seismic shift away from these 2 parties. It's about creating the awareness.
|
Android22:THIS IS WHAT I HATE WITH PASSION. We have one full year to the elections and we the youths are giving up already! Why?? Why can't we just commit to do our bit and be satisfied with the little role we play. Vast majority of Nigerians are unencumbered with next years election. Many still have severe voting apathy. How about we try and make sure that every single person around us makes the effort to register and vote?? Why don't we try to just make something happen individually and then see what the future has to offer? Why must we remain hopeless about the future? |
