Dear Manchester united fans, now is the time to take affairs of our country seriously as we do football. PLEASE do endeavor to find the closest INEC office close to you and register to vote for next year's election. We cannot continue to sit on our hands and lament about the poor situation of things and the terrible leaders we have. We have the power in our hands to change things. We just need to stop being apathetic to voting. This opportunity for change comes only once in 4 years, realistically once in 8 years. We cannot let this opportunity pass by. Please click on the link below to register on INEC's website online. https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/Home/start

izzou:A candid reply
|
andrewbaba44:That's the hope! A And not just obi's supporters alone. See how engaged this thread has been the last few days, are the majority of posters here registered?? I keep hammering that time is running out. We have a lot of time to carefully scrutinize all candidates but the window for voting registration is gradually closing. |
Let's get it right. Let's rise above ethnicities and tribalism. Let's get the better of them.

My fellow Nigerians, know that whether it is Tinubu, Atiku, osinbajo or Jonathan that emerges as the key frontrunners, it is a key loss for all of us! These are all active participants of a system designed to function for only themselves. I was a key campaigner for this present administration both in 2015 and 2019. I was villified amongst my family for supporting buhari. I believed in buhari and tinubu to change things. I told myself and told people that buhari had a good track record the few months he led Nigeria, I told people that Tinubu was one of the best opposition that any democracy could get. I pointed to his astuteness in appointing credible people. What did we get?? A failed economy, a president ruling the country from a sick bed in London for 2 years masqueraded as "ear infection". A continuation of the deadly security challenges which the self styled general promised to crush. An entrenchment of the deep seethed and endemic corruption which they both promised to eliminate. A further division and disunity of the country across all regions, witnessing further regional implosion along ethnic lines. BUHARI, TINUBU, OSIBANJO, JONATHAN, ATIKU ETC, all brought us to this point. They have failed Nigerians. We cannot continue to recycle these lot. We cannot continue going backwards. Let's move forward, let's find a fresh face, a fresh party and the best outsider right now who is gaining that momentum to upend the status quo is Peter obi, he seems to have the name recognition capable of threatening this evil duopoly. An insider who is not part of the system. If not peter obi, perhaps another outsider, but we must be involved. No more standing on the byline. Click on this INEC link to register to vote. Time is running out. I wish you all the best and hope we unify to save our country. https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/ |
Reasons Why atiku should NEVER be Nigeria's president.

Itsrm:You shouldn't be. Atiku will more than double wike's tally. Wike never had a chance! So the north still wants to rule for another 8 years. THUNDER!! |
An exhilarating 1st half. Much better than Liverpool vs Tottenham final few years ago. |
NinjaXmetahuman:Are we watching the same match?? Liverpool are destroying madrid. Should be 3-0 up by now. Cortouis is saving them. |
I want this cup to remain in England abeg. Make everyone know say EPL is the strongest and best league. |
BlueRayDick:This is what not teaching history in school causes. People forget the terrorism of bad leaders on their subjects. Rather than look at countries like north Korea, Russia, Cameroon etc and seeing the dangers of dictatorship, they'll foolishly be yearning a return to such suffering. Many of these authoritarian countries are cut off from the rest of the world. In some of these countries, their internet is blocked or heavily restricted. In some, they can't communicate with the rest of the world. This is what people say we should go back to. Chai. I just came across this video that partly exposes how corrupt our military rulers were because of our oil. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnQSa_AVpSo |
PDPGuy:It's a sorrowful situation.
|
EmmanuelScott1:Did you zoom into this picture? There's something very awkward about his skin. |
As usual David delivers an insightful autopsy of IPOB. Do well to read his piece below. https://businessday.ng/columnist/article/this-time-it-will-be-different-nigerias-ipob-conundrum/

Havertz10:One of those moments you have brain farts and can't wait to spew it. You are advocating for an authoritarian dictator to rule Nigeria. As if the abacha's, the babaginda's, the danjuma's and the buhari's are not enough for you. These are the dictators who have ruled Nigeria with an iron fist and made us the poorer for it. People who would be blatantly looting our wealth and projecting an image of "man of the people". The worst thing about dictators that foolish people like you always fail to point out is how once dictators assume power, THERE IS NO HOPE IN SIGHT WHEN THEY WILL RELINQUISH THAT POWER. Those dictators will be, not just above the law but the law themselves. Above any court order, answerable to no one. Plunder as much as they want with no one to stop them. The only way they can leave power is by death or coup by a worse person than them. No light at the end of the tunnel. Look at Putin of Russia, look at xi jinping of china, their predecessors did not spend more than 8 years in power, these men have now enacted laws that will allow them rule for life. With democracy, no matter how bad it is, there is always an end in sight. Nigeria is still suffering because our democracy is still relatively young, it is still controlled by the legacy of those military dictators aforementioned, which you somehow still hope to cling unto. With time, we will eventually get it right. My hope is that it starts now. |
Android22:Never you say this!! It is better you vote for your heart than not vote at all. My own is, all these people doing permutations here and there, hope they've actually registered to vote. We have the whole of this year and early next year to do our permutations and actually watch the political developments that occur within that period. What we don't have is more time for registration. Let's end this practice of being highly engaged on social media and not taking action in reality.

donstan18:Seems for once we both disagree on the same thing. we have equal footing here. There is redemption for you afterall. ![]() Watch this video and come over to the right side. https://twitter.com/Chude__/status/1491745459848765444?t=ogeEyAtRprH46VRk07e_GA&s=19 |
Havertz10:Soo in other words, dayo supports Tinubu to be the president of this country. such a damn shame!Of course, he's in America, nothing gives him more joy than seeing Nigeria and Nigerians continue to suffer and go down the drain when he won't be here to feel the pinch. That's wickedness if you ask me. |
Havertz10:You sure say you be Chelsea fan? |
donstan18:You did say "unrelated" indeed. But it would have made sense for you to have made a particular exclusion to my own post about the inec registration seeing as it's the inec website itself and not try to be subversive of my aim and stupidly mischievous. I really hope you're not implying that INEC itself will misuse people's data. That's inherently stupid.
|
Havertz10:How would you with your obsession about foreign politics not be concerned about your own countries politics? There is supposed to be a healthy balance. I also follow international politics a lot, like you but I'll be damned if I don't commit that same level of interest to my own country. The situation does look hopeless indeed but that's because not enough people know yet the power in their hands. PEOPLE LIKE YOU! People who seem to have given up on our politics. Then how do we change it of we do nothing? Jude, please use the link in my signature below and register to vote. Let's get all hands on deck. This is the field you will fill below.

popizaino:Check and see na. We outnumber them 3 to 1. |
BlueRayDick:My brother watch this video and tell me if you're not impressed in anyway. My choice on Obi wasn't made till very recent and after I had sat down to peruse these candidates. I think you will eventually see that Obi is certainly the best of the rest. https://twitter.com/Chude__/status/1491745459848765444?s=19 |
BlueRayDick:Very well said my brother, it's extreme foolishness to try to sell someone who is already part and parcel of a failed administration as the face of a new one. It makes no goddamn sense or logic. Someone who has his personally handpicked candidate at ALL levels of government from executive to legislative to judiciary and the cabinets, both federal, state and regional levels. This is who they want us to try again Someone whose body is failing him. TUFIA!!! |
Havertz10:Thailand is a very small country, their population is not even up to one-third Nigeria's population. And they're currently a democracy. Not the same thing at all. Jude, surprisingly enough, you haven't shown support to any candidate thus far, who has caught your eye so far in this election? |
popizaino:I initially wanted to reply that post but later decided against it. You guys cannot be serious in wishing a dictator rules Nigeria. It exposes a certain kind of shortsightedness you people have. Newsflash: Nigeria has experienced dictatorship and guess what, IT WAS FVCKING TERRIBLE!!! The citizens had no fundamental basic human rights. The leaders had no recompense to their citizens. There was no hope of them ever leaving power or else by death or coup by another worse dictator. These are men who KILLED their citizens. Do you really want to go back to an era where no news media can criticize their leader? Where I can't insult you on nairaland? Where all social media platforms are banned or restricted or closely monitored by government agents?? The good thing with democracy is that there's light at the end of every dark tunnel. We suffered Jonathan's incompetence for 6 years, we successfully changed him, we thought buhari was the answer, we were wrong and we will change him again, the prayer now is to get the next one right, but do you know the good news, WE HAVE THE POWER TO DO IT. Theoretically, it is plausible to vote out BOTH PDP AND APC. we can usher in a new set of government. All we need to do is sensitive and energize every single person around us on the importance of voting and letting them know the constitutional power they have. Please let this be the last time anybody advocates for a Dictator to rule Nigeria. We've tried that before and it wasn't funny. We're still suffering the effects till today. Obasanjo, buhari, babangida, Theophilus danjuma etcetera these are still the owners of Nigeria till today. All these men put us where we are today. Their mates in Singapore, dubia, Malaysia, south Korea all started the same place 40 years ago, where are those guys today, where are we? |
BlueRayDick:All those things he said will sound credible if tinubu has already not been tested at the national level. He's making it sound as if tinubu is an opposition, But with the number of his boys there, one can't make that argument. Whatever vision tinubu had for this country could have been actualized since he has led by proxy. Tinubu is not detached from this government. He's a part and parcel of it. |
This has to be the highest form of delusion. To sell Tinubu , one would have to try and extricate him from the present administration. Do you want to tell me Tinubu is not a part and parcel of this present Nigerian government that is a failure?? Is it not his own hand selected person that is the speaker house of rep, the vice president of the country, various ministerial slots? Various leaders in the national party, then handpicked governors? To sell Tinubu to Nigerians means presenting him as an opposition to this failed government. It means removing the responsibility of the failure of this government from his head and not as an active partner and partaker. Do you really believe Tinubu has no hand in policy formulations? Have his policies succeeded? Should we continue on this tragectory we're headed? God forbid those that will want Nigeria to continue to suffer what we've been suffering. |
BlueRayDick:You have been making solid points throughout this arguments but it's conspicuous that you haven't proclaimed your own candidate. Who are your favorite candidate(s) for this forthcoming election? |
TrebleChamp:Some people no just gree get sense for this life. When you see Tinubu, you see a very frail weak man, one on the cusp of going catatonic. Obasanjo age mate. Do we really want another president who would rule from a sick bed in London? We should vote a skeleton because he was a governor TWENTY years ago. Okay oo |
