One Onyinyechi Edum, a native of Abua, Rivers State, has been arrested by the Police for impregnating his stepdaughter! According to the news, he started sleeping with the girl, who is currently in JSS 1, when his wife took ill and was hospitalised for over three months.

Edum, however, said he was drunk when he slept with her, on different occasions.

Speaking on the matter, the Divisional Police Officer, Kingsley Chukwueggu, stated that the suspect would soon be charged to court for his actions.

I guess anytime he wants to sleep with her, he goes for the bottles. SHAME!

Nigerian gospel artiste and the 3rd runner up at the West African Idol, Eric Arubayi, dies after a brief illness.

Eric Arubayi passed on today, after fallen sick earlier in the week. He died at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital. He'ssurvived by his wife, Chinonso, and their child.

Recall that Eric was the 3rd runner up, Idols West Africa season 1, won by Timi Dakolo.

Again, let me remind you, church activities and indeed, every religious activity for that matter can become an ordinary 'feast' when it carries no spiritual experience in your life again.

Even prayer as spiritual as it is can become a 'feast'. When prayer time is no longer a genuine fellowship with God, but a routine of vain repetition and meaningless words, or even in the name of 'speaking in tongues'! Or worse still when your prayer time with God instead of bending your self-will and writing eternal characters in your life becomes only an avenue for using God to advance your selfish ambitions.

When it is no longer a place of receiving God's will and the grace to do it, but rather, a routine of 'God give me this', 'God do this for me', 'God destroy all those who are standing in the way of my blessings and promotions'. When prayer time - God's opportunity for breaking the tyranny of self, sin and rottenness of our life becomes diverted to serving your interest, then you have entered into the realms of ceremonies and feasts!

There are yet others who presently attend prayer meetings, family prayer times, or devotions, or even fasting retreats, not because of the burden and the desire to pray is present, but rather more out of 'saving face', 'a name', or even their 'past reputation' of being once upon a time a spiritual brother or sister. The truth however, alas, is Ichabod! The glory has departed and the heart has backslidden .

To such, Jesus in the book of Revelations says, "thou has a name that thou liveth, but thou art dead". When you participate in any religious activity just to protect a name or to defend yourself against people thinking that you are no longer fervent - then, spiritual things have become just a feast or ceremony to you as well. You are on the shortest possible path to losing Jesus.

Friends, from the above and other indices too numerous to mention, will you not agree that the things of God are becoming just a ceremony to you? Don't you now for instance just go to Church on Sundays only as a ceremony? Imagine that for weeks, you don't do any genuine personal study of your bible, yet on Sundays, you get up and dust your Bible to go for service.

Perhaps, you may be going to show off our new dress, your new car, or even to parade your fine looking (and probably spoilt) children! It is certainly not out of a hunger or the desire to see the glory of God.

When you see these parameters in your life, they are pointers unto missing the reality that you may already be missing the Lord Jesus out in your life and you do not know it.

I am equally guilty of all i have shared with you above. i guess it's time we retrace our steps.

When Genuine Spiritual Experience Degenerates Into Feasts And Celebrations! (1)

The Word of God says...
"...His parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the Passover."

The first pointer unto the missing Jesus I want to draw your attention to in this message under consideration is - The Passover became a feast! The Passover became a feast!

The Passover, when it was instituted was an experience. It was something that changed people's lives. In the Old Testament, everybody knew that he actually passed-over from the dominion (kingdom) of Egypt, out of bondage at the Passover. PASSOVER MEANT DELIVERANCE!

It was the foundation for all other spiritual encounters! It meant coming out of the tyranny of darkness into the light, under the cloud of the presence of God.

But at this particular time in question, people that never had the real experience of Passover only attended it as a feast. A Christian loses Jesus from his life when the experience that changed many people's lives in the past becomes an ordinary feast to him.

When Church attendance is no more to encounter, or to have an experience with God, but an ordinary feast and entertainment to a man, he will soon lose Jesus in his life.

Do you know that singing: choruses, praise worship, hymns, etc for instance can become a feast? It can degenerate, as indeed it has done several of our denominations today into mere 'frenzies and jamborees'! It has actually become nothing but mere "musical concert" embellished with all kinds of beats and instruments borrowed from 'Babylon', though these songs are usually spiced with gifted soprano voices that come from unbroken and fleshy hearts!!

Is it not a common knowledge that several of our so called 'Christian albums' are nothing but 'Jamaican reggae beats' covered with Isaac Watts and Charles Wesley voices? is it any wonder then that when we now sing such songs, our lives do not bear the same fruits and results as those saints of blessed memory?

Dear 'man of God', instead of the bogus and carnal launching of the twelve million Naira musical instruments accompanied with prayer and fasting, you have plunged your congregation into, you should first in your life, and then with your congregation do a 'spiritual launching' for the recovery of the Holy, consecrated, Spirit filled, and obedient life that was once delivered unto the saints!

Why You Should Know your Genotype Before Considering Getting Married

A lot of Medical doctors and marriage counselors advise that couples who are about to get married should go for specific medical tests before tying the knot.
While this is very important, many couples don't heed this advice for fear of probably incompatible results, especially as regards their haemoglobin genotype, emerging to become a reason for not getting married after such a long and deep emotional investment into each other (it can be very heart-breaking and some people might go into depression that would require psychiatric care if they're compelled to cut off the relationship and marriage after such a long time of planning about their future together).

Instead of waiting till you meet that special half with whom you will spend your lifetime before realizing the importance of such specific medical tests, why not go for these medical tests now that you're probably single or have not met that special someone yet?

Whether you're a man or woman, you should undergo a haemoglobin genotype test now before you meet your lifetime partner when it might either be too late or the outcome of your incompatibility could drive you into a mental breakdown.

The Importance of knowing your Haemoglobin genotype

There are several disease variants of the haemoglobin gene, but the commonest ones are haemoglobin S and C. The normal haemoglobin gene present in adult humans is A which exist as AA.

However, some people have the A and S pairing as AS; some have the S and another S pairing as SS which is known as sickle cell disease; and a few people have S and C pairing to form SC which is also as bad as SS.

If your haemoglobin genotype test comes out as AS, SS or SC, it means you can give birth to a child with SS if you marry someone who is AS or SS. For instance, if a man with AS marries a woman with AS, one in every 4 children they have will be SS. But that's probability in theory. In reality that one child could be the first child; and that one child in every 4 children could manifest as 4 children in every 16 children, meaning the first 4 children can be SS and the couple has to give birth to more than 10 children to stand a chance of having a child who is either AA or AS!

Thats huge!!

Taking care of a child who is SS can be a nightmare especially for couples who don't have the financial capacity; and even for those with the financial resources, the child may still die from a crisis or complication that can occur when nobody expects it. Hence, knowing your haemoglobin genotype before entering a relationship that could lead to marriage will enable you talk about it with your partner, and if you're incompatible, the possibility of marriage can easily be ruled out at this early stage of the relationship, unlike when you're getting to know your haemoglobin genotype after proposal and the wedding is a few weeks away!

What Does the Bible Say About Alcohol? Is Drinking It a Sin?

It is not a sin to drink alcohol in moderation. The Bible describes wine as a gift from God that can make life more enjoyable. (Psalm 104:14, 15; Ecclesiastes 3:13; 9:7) The Bible also acknowledges the medicinal value of wine.—1 Timothy 5:23. Jesus drank wine during his time on earth. (Matthew 26:29; Luke 7:34)

In one of his well-known miracles, Jesus turned water into wine as a generous gift at a marriage feast.—John 2:1-10.

Dangers of over-drinking

While the Bible mentions the positive aspects of wine, it condemns overdrinking and drunkenness. Thus, a Christian who chooses to drink alcohol would do so only in moderation. (1 Timothy 3:8; Titus 2:2, 3)

The Bible gives several reasons to avoid over-drinking. It impairs thinking ability and judgment. (Proverbs 23:29-35) An intoxicated person cannot fulfill the Bible’s command to “present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, a sacred service with your power of reason.”—Romans 12:1. Overdrinking removes inhibitions and “the motivation to do what is right.”—Hosea 4:11;Ephesians 5:18.

It can lead to poverty and serious health problems.—Proverbs 23:21, 31, 32.

Heavy drinking and drunkenness displease God.—Proverbs 23:20; Galatians 5:19-21.

How much is too much?

A person has had too much alcohol when his drinking puts him or others at risk of harm.

According to the Bible, drunkenness is identified, not by a person’s passing out, but by such behavior as being disoriented, walking unsteadily, becoming contentious, or having slurred speech. (Job 12:25; Psalm 107:27;Proverbs 23:29, 30, 33)

Even those who avoid getting drunk can still become “weighed down with . . . heavy drinking” and experience its serious consequences.—Luke 21:34, 35.

Complete abstinence

The Bible also identifies times when Christians should avoid drinking alcohol altogether: If others would be stumbled by it.—Romans 14:21. If drinking alcohol violates the law of the land.—Romans 13:1. If a person cannot control his drinking.

Those who suffer from alcoholism and other forms of alcohol abuse must be willing to take drastic action.—Matthew 5:29, 30.

How Do You Approach A Man Who Is Wielding Cutlass?

...and Nnamdi looking visibly angry, ran into his room, picked his cutlass ad chased his father, Dee Okeke, out of the compound.

The hot pursuit attracted other villagers and Nnamdi's elder brother, Okechukwu who lives in the town was immediately notified of the happenings in his family.

As the elder brother, he felt that Nnamdi would listen to him. So, he took the next bus down to the village. When he arrived the village square, he met a large crowd of people awaiting his arrival.

Some youths who had gone to invite the Police drove in to report that the Police will be there soon. Nobody was willing to enter the compound as Nnamdi threatened to unleash mayhem on anybody who dares enter the compound.

Okechukwu felt that as his eldest brother, Nnamdi would listen to him. So amidst pleas from people, he made up his mind to enter the compound to persuade his brother to drop the cutlass and let his father in.

But as soon as he entered the compound, Nnamdi attacked him. Just in a matter of seconds, the cutlass came down on Okechukwu's arm, slicing it off instantly! He ran out from the compound with blood gushing out from his amputated arm!!

Hmmm....

"How do you approach a man who is wielding cutlass in the name of seniority? Is that not stupidity?

My Simple New Year Message To You - Michael Doo

We thank God Almighty for bringing us this far! Last year was full of challenges but He saw us through them all. Many people didn't survive to see this beautiful year. They were not more sinners than any of us here. Its a great privilege that we are alive celebrating the new year..once again. Its God's love and grace that has kept us till date. We cant thank Him enough for this.

We must have made successes and have also failed in other areas. We must have been disappointed few minutes ago(2016) but i want you to put the past behind you and forge ahead. The future is brighter for you. The future is brighter for Nigeria.

In this new year, i have come to understand that we are leaving out something very vital in our lives...and that is looking inwards to see and unleash that ingenuity in us. And therefore we have for so long depended on people...on the government for survival.

This should lead us into the new year.

The elderly patient had consented, and he was waiting for the student nurses when they entered his room. The instructor began to demonstrate insertion of a tube through the nose down the throat and into the stomach.

She began to push, push, push, but the tube would not go down. The patient gagged. The instructor tried again and the patient gagged again; but the tube would not move.

Finally the instructor ran to get her supervisor. The supervisor quickly and skillfully inserted the tube where it needed to be.

The instructor felt disgraced and humiliated. Later one of her students thanked her for the lesson she had taught them that day.

The instructor looked puzzled. “How can you thank me for that”? She asked.

The student replied, “You taught us what to do when we fail. Now we know we are to run for help when we can’t manage a situation”.

That’s it.

Life is not always a success. At times everyone fails himself, society and God. There can’t always be success. At times you are disappointed. Like the student nurses, we need to know how to face our failures and where to go for help. The nurses were indeed fortunate to have had the lesson.

Most of us have never had lessons on how to handle failure because our society is success or winner oriented. We’ve assumed that winning is uplifting and we reward the winner.

Everyone wants to win. Nobody wants to lose because losing is failing.

Our books are success oriented. They cover everything on how to succeed on business to how to succeed in canning pickles. What editor would publish a book on how to fail in business? Everyone wants to succeed.

A woman I know quite well blames her husband for all their family failures. If he had worked harder they would have more money today, she laments. You see? She cannot admit her own failure to manage the money they do have.

I pray that God may teach us how to take to corrections.

CRISIS LOOMS: WIKE CAMPS COLLATION OFFICERS IN GOVERNMENT HOUSE.

Less than 24 hours to the schedule rerun election in Rivers State all the Collation and Returning Officers trained for the rerun election have been fraudulently placed under the custody of Governor Wike and PDP. These personnel arrived Port Harcourt yesterday into Rivers State and in the guise that they want them secured in safety, the National Chairman of INEC directed that these personnel should be accommodated in Rivers State Government Lodge located right inside the Government House (Old Presidential Lodge), Earnest Ikoli Street Old GRA.

Yesterday Governor Wike was in a meeting with all the Collation and Returning Officer from 11pm till about 3.45am this morning (Friday) where he personally gave each of them $25,000 (twenty five thousand dollars) with a promise to pay them another $15,000 after the election. Nigerian Lady Accuses Police Officer Of Omitting Her Name In The NPF Recruitment List Because She Denied Him Sex!

Following the recent release of the Nigeria Police Force(NPF) 2016 recruitment list, reactions, complains and petitions have started pouring in as regards the fairness of some Officers involved in the recruitment process.

One Hadiza Abdullahi from Katsina State who applied under [right][/right]specialist cadre has revealed her ordeal in the hands of one Abubakar Aminu, a senior Police Officer. Then, coincidentally, the same man happened to be her supervisor during the Police recruitment and he saw this as an opportunity to pay her back by denying her the opportunity to get employed.

Ahead of the court ordered legislative re-run elections in Rivers State, Governor Nyesom Wike, last Saturday, held a meeting with henchmen of some cult groups in the state.

Recall that the state Government recently granted amnesty to cultists. The recent meeting raises suspicion as to the State Government's sincerity about the program.

According to source, leaders of Icelanders cult group and other militants were in attendance at the meeting held at the Port Harcourt residence of Uche Secondus.

Source disclosed that the SSG was tasked with providing logistics for the group. The meeting is coming on heels of calls by Wike on PDP supporters to resist any attempt by security agents to arrest them by any means necessary.

As the election draw nearer, it remains to be seen how the meeting would impact on the exercise.

Plan by Governor Nyesom Wike and the PDP to rig and cause violence during the re-run elections in Rivers State, using a Federal High Court Judge in Port Harcourt has been uncovered.

A close aid to the Judge (identity concealed), disclosed that Wike, the Judge and two other PDP stalwarts, including the SSG, Kenneth Kobani, met for over one hour at the residence of the Judge located at Old GRA Port Harcourt.

According to the aid, the parley among other things agreed that on Monday, Dec 5, the Judge will issue warrant for the arrest of the Resident Electoral Commissioner and some other staff of INEC on some spurious allegations.

The source also revealed that the boys quarters in the Judge's official residence, will be used to house some thugs to be imported from Ohaji Egbema LGA of Imo State and Sagbama LGA in Bayelsa State.

i wish things were a bit different. i have done everything possible to change it. i have had sleepless nights sobbing like it were never gonn change.
