I'm new here and I really need your help with something that is bothering my mind.

My dad paid an agent since November-2022 for an Unskilled job offer in CANADA,,and I don't really knw what's happening till now.

To cut the long story short, as at March-2023, I got a job offer for the role of a Farmer including an invitation letter stating the conditions of the job through my agent. Please note that all the information I have had came through my Agent's email and not mine.

According to my Agent,,,the LMIA processing fee wud be paid by my employee and every other necessary fee as regards my travelling. But I have to be patient for atleast 2months b4 everything can be ready.

Now,,it's over 3months that we've been on this LMIA processing issue but he keeps telling to be patient that my employer is still working on it..

I have searched for the company's details online but i can only get little information about the employers information on the internet.

I have been really skeptical about all the processes but I just need anyone from Nairaland who can assist me with any vital information as regards this processes and I'll be extremely grateful.

Just have it in the back of your mind that this route requires patience. Maybe your agent didn't tell you. Even though it's 99% sure that you will get a work permit (temporary foreign worker), you will have to wait for a minimum of 2years. Just get your upfront medical, a bogus POF, do your Wes evaluation (for PR process),learn skills and get certified while you wait.

Did your employer provide you with flight ticket money.? I think this is supposed to be stated on the contract paper (offer letter) you signed.

2. IRCC is really messing up a lot. No timeline, but their websites says 57weeks from the day of biometrics.

IRCC promised to speed up processing time by recruiting more workers. I hope they keep to their promise.

1. Flight ticket was around 2.9m for 3 of us.

2. My employer wasn't going to pay for my accommodation, no agreement of such so it was all paid by me. They helped with securing the apartment though.

3. I doubt jobs are readily available anywhere. My spouse isn't working at this moment sef. It all depends on your industry and experience. But I don't expect it to be as rigorous as what we have in Naija but it's also not on a platter of gold.

4. Of course if eligible and does makes immigration sense. This depends on the PR route too.

3. With spouse open work permit, are jobs readily available or spouse have do a rigorous job hunting to secure one.
4. Can spouse who is a dependent and have an open work permit be the primary applicant for PR?

My process is ongoing. I started with an agent March. Aug 8th I went for medicals with my family. Upfront as instructed by the agent.
I'm still waiting for medical result approval by IRCC. I learnt it can up to 2 or 3months.
