There’s been reports that a couple of men have been apprehended in Oyo State, in the hometown of Sunday Igboho as they laid siege to attack the mother of the Yoruba activist who on Thursday declared that the Yoruba Nation was leaving the national configuration Nigeria.

According to the Former Minister of Aviation and a PDP chieftain Femi Fani-Kayode, just some minutes ago he reported in a tweet after alleging he spoke with the Akoni Sunday Igboho, that his men had apprehended 2 men at the home of his mother in his hometown Igboho in Oyo State, with the mission to cause his mother harm.

He reported that one of the men escaped whilst the other was captured and he is currently in police custody.

Many Nigerians illegally staying in Germany will leave Frankfurt for Lagos on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, as part of massive deportation plans by the German government, the Network for Critical Migration Consciousness (NfCMC) has announced.
The upcoming charter deportation operation will be the first for this year since the initial plan for January 18 was cancelled owing to the Coronavirus pandemic.

A statement by the NFCMC noted that at a February meeting with the Nigerian Ambassador in Berlin, Ambassador Tugger informed the NGC president-led delegation of his engagement with the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 to address the situation of deportation and the risk of the Corona pandemic.

The Government of Kaduna State, via the office of the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs has given an update on the abducted female students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka-Kaduna, Mando area.
Recall that the institution, which is one of the four colleges under aegis of the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN) was reportedly attacked by gunmen late on Thursday, who carted away with some students, which an eye witness said were only females.

The Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2019 general election, Omoyele Sowore, has been expelled from the party, the AAC leadership has said.
Speaking to newsmen on Wednesday, the National Chairman of AAC, Dr. Leonard Nzenwa, said Sowore’s expulsion was ratified by its highest decision-making organ.

He stated that Sowore was impersonating the AAC leadership by writing a letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) claiming to be the Chairman of the party.

“Same last week some group of people led by one Omoyele Stephen Sowore, a former member of our great Party, who was not only suspended and removed as National Chairman of the party but also expelled over various proven allegations of financial recklessness and misappropriation of party funds, abuse of party constitution, high-handedness etc started displaying and carrying out dangerously criminal actions, under the name of our great party thereby committing various crimes thereof.

“African Action Congress, AAC is indeed appalled by acts of a man who now appears to have relapsed and clearly is manifesting psychopathic and delirious behaviour after his expulsion since 2019.

“Before we proceed, it is pertinent to draw your attention to the following compelling and unassailable facts:

“Following the commission of various acts of financial recklessness and misappropriation of party funds, abuse of party constitution, high-handedness, intimidation and threat of party members including greedily double-roleing as party National Chairman as well as Presidential Candidate in 2019 presidential polls exposing him as a tyrant, etc, Omoyele Sowore was removed as National Chairman and later expelled as a member of the African Action Congress (AAC).

Manchester United have appointed John Murtough and Darren Fletcher as their first-ever football director and technical director respectively in a significant reorganisation of the Old Trafford club’s football operations.
Murtough, previously United’s head of football development, will be responsible for all football strategy and operations as football director – including recruitment – across the men’s and women’s teams as well as the academy.

Gunmen on Tuesday killed Chief Terkula Suswam, elder brother of Senator Gabriel Suswam, a former Governor of Benue State.

This incident occurred at his residence in Anyin, a rural community in Logo Local Government Area of Benue.

The deceased, who was the proprietor of Ashi Waves (radio station) and Ashi Polytechnic, was said to be supervising a new building project close to his residence when the gunmen drove to the spot where he was murdered.

A family source confirmed the incident.

He said details of the incident were sketchy and it was difficult to finger those behind the killing.

Contacted, the Police Spokesperson for Benue Command, DSP Catherine Anene, said she could not confirm the incident yet as her effort to reach the DPO on ground was not successful.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has joined his teammates again on Monday night after he lost consciousness in the final minute of Sunday’s Serie A clash against Atalanta.

Osimhen hit his head on the turf after a Cristian Romero challenge during Napoli’s 4-2 defeat at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, lost consciousness and was rushed to the hospital.

In the company of Napoli’s doctor, the striker was rushed to Bergamo’s Papa Giovanni Hospital, where he spent the night under observation until Monday night, when he was cleared after series of test.

The I Partenopei, while giving updates on their injured players, said Osimhen was fine and had rejoined the team.

“Victor Osimhen, following the injury with head trauma suffered in the final minutes of Atalanta-Napoli, underwent tests which came out with negative results,” Napoli wrote on their official website.

The 22-year-old has been struggling with health problems of recent, as he dislocated his shoulder on international duty in November, then was diagnosed with COVID-19 in early January.

At the same time, Napoli also revealed that Dries Mertens, who returned from therapy in Belgium, could return to training this week.

The ex-governor of Imo State Rochas Okorocha has been released by the Imo State Police Command.

This was disclosed by the Spokesperson for the state police command, Orlando Ikeokwu, on a Channels Television’s ‘Sunrise Daily’ programme on Monday.

Ikeokwu said Okorocha was released on Sunday night after he was “invited” for “questioning” for unsealing the Spring Palm Estate linked to his wife, Nkechi.


“He was released later at night,” the PPRO said, adding, “If anybody is found culpable, definitely, he will be charged to court. If investigation proves that he (Okorocha) has committed an offence, he will be charged to court.”

Earlier, the ex-governor stormed the estate with his supporters, policemen, soldiers and personnel of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps on Sunday morning and ordered the unsealing of the estate.

The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has warned faith leaders against reckless and provocative utterances that may further aggravate the security crises that Nigeria is facing.

Sanwo-Olu, the newly installed grand patron of the Christian body in the state urged religious leaders to use their pulpits to preach peace and discourage war, saying, it was time for citizens to join hands to give Nigeria the new beginning it deserved in surmounting the contemporary challenges the nation is facing.

He said: “We have all witnessed the challenges of our country, but we need to be careful not to turn the observed crises into an ethnic or religious war. We need to guide against utterances that may stereotype anyone or their tribe. We have a duty to isolate criminals in our communities, rather than introducing tribal spin into every crime.”

The Popular Nollywood actor, Ernest Asuzu, has died at the age of 37. His wife, Jennifer Asuzu confirmed the news of his death to the media. She said the Actor slumped on Tuesday evening and never woke up.
