he was poor, making decisions like a 19yr old player, he should be ashamed of his performance, see de free header wey him miss, matic and fellaini did better. both were poor, none were anywhere better, e no get how una wan sugarcoat de matter, he was poor EOD.
pogba contributed more to our attack than Herrera, he wasn't entirely poor like we are making it seem

The only reason Pogba had a better game was coz he can't be benched while Hererra is benchable. Pogba on the same minutes as Hererra was just as poor as Hererra.
he was poor by his standards no doubt but why are we overlooking his contributions to the attack, we are making it seem like he was up to no good for 90mins

you guys are seriously over exaggerating pogba's performance today, it's not like he gave the ball away often, what exactly are we slating him for

between pogba and Herrera, Who had a better game?

EvilMetahuman:
You failed to comprehend the simple post.

Scoring huge number of useless goals mean nothing if you those goals don't have any impact.

Costa gave chelsea 15 points from different 1-0 or 2-1 wins last season. when all hope was lost and we already settled for a draw, he scores out of nothing or nowhere to give 3points.
Deduct 15 points. From chelsea's point last season let's see if chelsea would have been crowned champions.

And yes, batshuayis goal against westbrom is more important than lukaka's hatrick against some team.

You are nowhere to be found against opponents that are very difficult to beat, only to be flexing muscle and scoring hatrick against some farmers who are already 3-0 down.

Its a team sport, you expect other players to make mark. Give us crucial goal when the other player is not performing to expectation.
Hazard, pedro or someone could come the rescue when costa is completely marked out.
Without moratas goals also, ronaldo's 25 goals will be useless also.

Everton is not a bad team if that's what you are driving at.
the point is, 20+ plus goals can't be useless

who would a club rather buy, a player that scores 30+ useless goals or the one that scores only a few important goals? if you were the manager of a team, Who would you go for?

let's assume Ronaldo didn't score 25goals last season, how important do you think Morata's goals would be? 20+ useless goals laid the foundation for a few Important goals

there is no way 20+ plus goals won't have impact, no way...

EvilMetahuman:
5 goals that win major title is better than 30 goals that put you in 6th position.

Scoring in crucial game to gain crucial points is the most important thing, not scoring hatrick after the opponent is already 3-0 down.

One of the reasons I supported costa/conte's reconciliation.

This is why drogba will continue to be legend even without banging 20 goals every year.

Costa's 20 goals won us the league with 15 crucial points from some of the goals alone while Lukaka's 24goals brought home nothing.

Morata goals at madrid won trophies.
Less down 100minutes of play is not enough to whack him with "flop" hammer.
the thing is without those 30goals your 5goals is nothing

without Costa's goals and Hazard's, mitchy's match winner against West Brom would have been just another win

without Ronaldo's 25 league goals, Morata's goals would have been just a mere increase in his tally

should we now sell Fellaini for 100m? after all his goals and assists won us efl cup, the Europa league title and the FA cup, what about lingard?

For you to pick only the 2020 example in my post tells me you are here just to troll.

Have Morata flopped yet? Have Neymar succeeded in PSG yet? Have Lukaku repeated his 25 goal haul in United yet?

This is just a Community Shield match!

Why all the attack?

And talking about the price tag, 70m for a striker TODAY is ordinary. The market is highly inflated now so nobody should attach Morata's price tag as the reason why he should be scoring hat trick in every match.

Defenders go for 50m+ now. Why not a striker?
you are not getting the point

Morata hasn't left much to be desired honestly, what is about his game that shows he is capable of leading a team from start to finish

he has 40 career goals in the last four years, that doesn't help his reputation too, Neymar at 25 has 300+ career goals, you can't tell me he did that by scoring less than 20 goals majority of his career and this is a winger we really talking about... Lukaku at everton scored 20+ last season with the likes of mirallas, Barkley and gana and has been hitting double digits before that

what is it about Morata's game you can pin point and say okay, we have a ruthless finisher and prolific goal scorer on our hands?

Zola might have failed as a coach but he is right about the kind of striker Chelsea needs at the moment

I believe i am the German's biggest fan on this board but i gotta be honest, Cahill seems to be a different player lately.

Dude looks solid all of a sudden, with too many tackles, interceptions and clearances all to his name.
Maybe na just pre-season.

He is Chelsea's captain as i type this.
yes he looks solid but for how long? I don't know, maybe it's because of this dislike I have for British players

make season start proper first

luiz
van dijk
Rudiger

I deliberately ignored your earlier post because you are here, not to discuss the sport but to troll.

No need mentioning me again. You are actually interfering.

Thank you.
I am not here to troll sir, unless you are telling me nihilist and airmark are trolling too

back to what we were saying

you don't buy a striker for 70m to just be a team player, juventus knew what they were getting with higuain, Chelsea knew what they wanted with lukaku, Barca knew what they wanted with Suarez same as PSG with Neymar

you can't overlook Costa's contribution just because mitchy scored the goal that won you the league, Morata wasn't bought to wait for others to score and then score some goals that will earn you important points, he was bought to score goals, whether important or not, just keep scoring

The question is, did Drogba our target man score 20+ goals for us to win titles? Why must Airmark continue his 20+ goals line everytime?

Yes Costa's goals won us titles, so does Morata's goals in Madrid. It must not be 20+ goals.

Stop misunderstanding me bros. I said Costa's goals won us titles and I still stand by that. Morata's goals won Madrid a title last season too. So yes, goals win titles. BUT IT MUST NOT BE 20+ GOALS.

Wetin hard to understand there?
Mitchy's goal won Chelsea the league last season though, there would have been no league to win if Costa and Hazard didn't do their part, if your wing man Hazard can hit double digits, why shouldn't your 70m pound striker score 20+ goals

not interfering, just saying

Van Dijk - Luiz - Cahill

This IMHO isn't bad at all for Europe and the league.

Rudiger and Christensen can serve as back-ups.

There isn't really any strong reason to jettison Luiz if Dijk signs. We are trying to bolster this thin squad.
I'd replace cahill with Rudiger though

Well, I think people see things differently, or maybe because I'm not a Chelsea fan I wouldn't see it the way you're seeing it. To me, I don't see it as a generational curse kinda thing but more like a normal football bants, though I'm likely to agree I'd be annoyed if I was a Chelsea fan on this scenario.

When we lost 3-0 to you guys, I was in a foul mood and I decided to hide offline to avoid replying trolling from rivals in a caustic manner, so on that day, every trolling seemed very annoying to me, even when a Chelsea fan copied the signature move of DopeJemi's "long may your woes" it irked me. So I agree I may not find it funny depending on my mood, but I'll never take it to the extent of thinking it's a generational curse. At the end of the day, it's all bants for me. Nothing more.
