Apart from writing IELTS, every other information Is just muddled up, from assessing with nnas to icas and wes to going through the educational route which I think would be too expensive for me.

I beg to disagree with this info cuz I am practising in Manitoba. Even with the merger (which is only within one health region (and only in the ER and ICU depts which Nigerian nurses hardly go to) leaving other specialty areas in this region and other health regions free of this your allegation, there are still nursing positions open every single day and people are still getting employed. The college (and not board) doesn’t delay applications (evaluations come from NNAS by the way, You apply to the college after NNAS and people hear back from the college within 5-7days at the latest). People delay themselves because it takes them forever to come up with the exam fee, pick an exam date and prep for their competence exam. Need I add that many IENs are scared of the exam and spread rumours around instead. I remember people telling me it was the hardest exam ever and if I listened to them and prepared eternally, I may never have gathered the courage to write it. So please be very objective when you advise people.

I am also a psychiatric Nurse who wants to travel to Canada for greener pastures too. So we are in the same shoes.
There are different ways to travel to Canada.
1. Immigration (express entry)
2. Work permit after passing the Registered Psychiatric Nurse examination in Canada. The exam can only be written in Canada.
Either way, she will need to get registered in Canada before she can practice.
There are only 4 Provinces that separate Psychiatric Nurses from the general Nurses. The provinces are Manitoba, Alberta, British Colombia and Saskatchewan.
She should Google about registration as a psychiatric Nurse in Canada and she will get adequate into or she can PM me. I'm at work now so I can't type much. Hope this helps her

I have heard of ppl having issues of getting a job after applying as a midwife, midwives are not on the shortage list in uk, meaning they are not really looking for midwives

Let me deviate first, a graduate of nursing can immigrate to UK, you just need to write IELTS and everything will fall in place, within 6 months or at most I year, you're already working in a UK hospital

Now back to the question the only way you can immigrate to canada is by express entry and when you get there you face some licensing exam or through study route
I also plan to immigrate to canada and probably study nursing
