Please ask your questions here so others can help and if I stray in like this once in a while I can chip in if I have insights too. It is no longer possible to accept PM and start discussions without hurting my own studies here. I hope you will understand. Thanks
Yes, I understand.
I just wanted to inquire how to go about the Pof thingy cos that's our delaying factor at the moment.
But I noticed you said you don't want to talk about it openly.
I can really use your suggestions. Thank you.

Absolutely. Just that Abuja is faster and I was in a hurry to get it back cos I am traveling soon. I have seen someone in this thread get hers in 15days from Lagos and considered it 'fast '.

Typically, you are not supposed to share any facilities during your quarantine period. You should be completely by yourself. In fact, last I heard, you are only entitled to maybe 15 mins or so outside your room each day.
Thank you.

For those with doubts, I got PPR for a one year program, same with so many others on this thread. Just put in a tight application and pray to God for the best. My application was not even perfect like so many others.
No need for fear mongering.

I have a question pls,

For newly arrived travellers, will a quarantine over a separate room in an apartment, though with a shared bathroom/toilet though with another person be accepted?
One other person uses the other room, although he is fully vaccinated and is not a vulnerable person.
Someone should answer me pls nah
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by Doree: 8:54pm On Sep 08, 2021
CountVersailles:
These are questions you must have been required to answer when you filled your details in the ArriveCAN app. That'll tell you if it's acceptable or not.
I'm still making my arrangements and will fill the ArriveCan when the time is right. Thank you.

That being said, can the newly arrived travellers who have an experience with the requirements throw light on my question please?

Na anxiety keep me awake by this time o.

Biko, Please those that have landed in Montreal, is there any pre arrival form I can fill to speed up the process of getting my permit there so than I can meet up with my connecting flight to my final destination?

Also can someone recommend a good lab for covid test in Lagos pls?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Doree: 3:01am On Sep 04, 2021
olasubomy:
You will be screened at your first point of entry. Since you will be landing first in Montreal, that is where you will be issued your study permit after verification by the respective CBSA officer.

I presume your DLI is at Halifax. I would suggest you liaise with the immigration advisor of your school regarding the present COVID guidelines in Halifax or any other thing you need to know, but the bulk of your screening would be done in Montreal.

Safe trip in advance.
Thank you very much, Olasubomy. I really appreciate your prompt response.

Good morning all,

Please those that have already landed in Canada, if you first land in a province en route to your final destination, will you be given your student permit et al there?
E.g my flight will first land in Montreal, have a two hours layover before moving to Halifax. Will I be subjected to the Montreal arrival rules (covid test, student permit, etc) or will I still be regarded as a traveller till I reach my final destination?

I think you only need it if you'll be transiting in two Schengen Countries. But if it's just Amsterdam, then it shouldn't be a problem. Meanwhile, make sure your itinerary doesn't take you through the US as well. I stand to be corrected though.
Thank you soo much. I know about the US stuff courtesy of this thread. Unfortunately all cheaper flights passes through there angry

Timeline: Long Post Alert!!!

I actually typed some of this in faith on 27th July in anticipation of PPR cheesy thank God I get to post it now.

First Time applicant. Virgin passport sef
Got admission for a funded program in Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia for an LLM. The scholarship was just enough to cover my school fees though, so I was still left to provide funds for living expenses.
Admission tips: I actually followed Dr. Linda Iheme's you tube tips on getting scholarship programs. I am glad it worked out on my first trial.

I gathered the necessary documents I needed. My only problem became proving my funds for living expenses. I got a Deed of gift from my dad of about 12k CAD which would technically be the major fund in my account upon the transfer of the cash. That was my fear throughout the entire wait. But what I ensured, courtesy of the free advice being thrown around in this forum, was that I proved hat my husband and I were established in our own way. I submitted my Husband’s travel history, his Cac documents, my salary account, my identification as a Lawyer etc. I just wanted to pass the message that I am not relying entirely on my father, that my husband "who I refused to show his account statement" is still capable of supporting me. I backed all this up with lots of prayers, Rosary and Novenas and a well structured SOP. I am good at writing. Thank you. Did I mention I also wrote my father's letter of support and my husbands spousal consent letter where I wrote from their point of view all geared towards giving a firm foundation to the buildings I erected in my SOP? My only problem became the uploading part. Unfortunately, I am not tech savvy at all, and I can't help it. Luckily, I got the help of someone I contacted from here "Blavkmaan I hail o" who helped with all those compressions and uploading stuff. Not without discarding some of my 'prized' documents o which he deemed as unnecessary. And then, the wait began...

In all, I give all Glory to God who have deemed me worthy to enter an international flight for the first time. See you all in Canada! Much love from here

Docs submitted In addition to those listed up:
Client info:
Admission letter
LLB Certificate
BL certificate
Letter of past introduction from my Lawyer ( it was for this purpose, for obvious reasons)
Sample of my Lawyer's stamp to indicate active practice of Law.
Proof of fund:
My SOA
Funding letter
A fixed deposit certificate from where I spinned the narrative that my father fixed the stated sum in anticipation of my admission. The money was transferred the next day after the collapse of the deposit to my account and i pointed it out on my SOA. I didnt show my dad's SOA though.
Home Ties:
Marriage certificate.
Son's birth certificate
I also indicated my shares in my husband's CAC documents. Nevermind the company is not active o wink

Thank you all for your active support and advice on this forum. Especially JustMellow, Blavkmaan, Frank robben etc
Finally, i did this entire process myself, from admission to PPR courtesy of this group. We have a treasure here guys, let's make maximum use of it and for those with PPR already, let's keep the thread alive by giving back to what made us.

Oh, for those still waiting, goodluck guys, it will go round. Don't underestimate your emails and webforms. It worked for me cos trust me, I bombarded them this past two weeks though none of it ever got acknowledged.

Please pardon all typos.
