I have a peculiar question for those with experience.

I'm about to apply for my pgwp. My dilemma is on what to apply for my husband. He is already here on work permit which is expiring same time as my study permit viz 30th September.

My dilemma is on what to apply for him. My immigration consultant from my school says he will have to apply to remain as a visitor until I get a job in NOC A B or C. In which case he can't work.
Others are saying I should simply apply for an extension of his work permit in which case he would be on implied status and could still work.

For those that have gone through this, please what did you do?

Please clarify me. He didn't do biometrics based on his age. So doesn't have the consent form.

But, if I download the consent form, who signs it?
Or is it the consent form of the representative that is needed?

Has anyone submitted passport for a minor who didn't do biometrics?

Did you pay the transmission fee for Abuja? Whatelse did you send alongside the passport for stamping please?

Congratulations. I have a similar case , husband PPR dropped july 4 th and son medicals dropped same day. We tried to wait but it wasn’t coming so we had to send my husband passport. Now the issue is the passport has not been stamped since July 22 nd ,@doree how many weeks did your husband passport use when it went for stamping?Secondly what email did you direct your complaint to ? Thank you

I have a question please,

Is it risky to travel with a work permit that will expire two weeks after arrival? Will the border officers raise eyebrow?

Permit expires 30th September. Flight booked for 15th September.

PPR dropped for spouse, 13th July
Medical request for son's vv.

Spouse delayed sending passport hoping that son's PPR will drop immediately after the medical exam. Risky decision!

Finally, decided to overcome the village people and send the passport. We guess that's what triggered them to look at my son's own cos eligibility started the same day as the counterfoil on the sowp dropped.

And finally PPR for son dropped today. Just a day after.

Date submitted: 23rd January 2022.
Verdict: IRCC no try at all! But we are glad it has ended in praise.

Hello, please why should one avoid Ghana must go bags for carrying some of your items? Especially the foodstuffs.
Please is Ghana must go bag not allowed as part of your laugage.
I weighed only my empty traveling box is about 9kg without putting any of my personal item.
I wanted to use Ghana must go bag as my 2nd laugage for packing my foodstuffs to 23kg so as to max the weight.

Just make sure you wrap it well well with that airport cello tape.
For fear of stealing from you, or at worst putting some illegal stuff in your bag without your consent.

From my little experience, a child cannot have access to PTA. ONLY ADULTS HAVE ACCESSS TO IT!
You'll also need to show your bank a copy of your return ticket and visa to get PTA.
You may need to contact your bank early enough like 2wks b4 travel date for the process.
Just walk into any of the banks you have account with and tell them you want PTA and they'll tell you what you need to do...the naira equivalent must be available in your account.

Did you all book a return ticket to benefit the PTA from the bank?

How easy is it to get dollars from the bank currently? Is it even guaranteed for the adult?

Or is there another means of money exchange that will pay more instead of paying two way tickets for two people and getting only $4k at bank rate.
I've heard of lemonade, but does it present a better option? Or did you all just resort to black market for dollars?

Please share insights

You can do it at the land border and not at airport (since the airport is fully contained inside Canada soil). To flagpole, you will need to literally leave the soil of Canada and step into another country say US and return. Think of it as the origin of the term flagpoling. They will put exit stamp on your passport and you return back to be accepted. The officers will explain what you will do. Please do some research on this if you really want to do it.

It's not a big deal actually.

If you're a spouse of an International student (and eligible for SOWP) and you enter Canada on Visitor's Visa, you can go to the nearest border with all the necessary documents to justify your claim. Tell the border agent that you want to flagpole and they will direct you on what to do.

Literally speaking, it involves exiting Canada and entering again so they can issue you the open work permit instantly. Please note that it's legal too and not a case of cutting corners. Note that you will pay some little money for the permit at the border.

Check Google and watch some Youtube videos on that. I think someone here recently updated that s/he did it recently and it's still working.

If you already in Canada, you don't need to stress yourself. Just go to the boarder and get the permit. Or is it for your spouse in nigeria?

No. They mustn't be the port of entry. Nova Scotia is a lot closer to Newfoundland too. You can go ahead and book the flight.

-Travelled to Dubai on 4th of April 2022 for vacation (my wife came from Canada to meet me there in Dubai) and I returned to Nigeria on 22nd of April and on 1st of May I sent my new travel record via email to kenya, London and lagos IRCC offices with pictures with my wife.I also submitted it as webform. approval was received today, May 5th- 72days!!!. Pure miracle


I should add that I requested for reconsideration of his visitor's visa that was refused in December and I did not hear from them until today, they sent a second rejection for the visit visa followed by an approval for the open work permit

They said no two pregnancies are the same, and truly, na true o. For my first baby, Labour started on my exact edd and extended to the next day. No previous sign prior to that date - No show, No waterbreaking, No false contractions sef.

This present one, I started cramping the second week of February. Although my scan gave 9th February as the due date, I had been advised by my doctor to stick to my lmp since the scan was done late in my pregnancy stage and can no longer be trusted. With the cramps however, I starting waiting on baby from 9th. On the 10th, I met with a doctor and told her of the cramps. She sought my permission to check if I had started dilating. I refused o. Moreso when she mentioned the extra option of doing a sweep if so. Remembering my experience with the sweep for my first pregnancy, I emphatically said no. "Madam doctor, leave me wo. Lemme be cramping in peace until baby decides to come." The next day, I attended my scheduled appointment with my family doctor who finally succeeded in convincing me to carry out the sweep as it will aid baby if he decides to come earlier. I no go lie shaa, it wasnt as painful as i thought. She finished and gladly announced i was 2cm dilated. I might also go into full labour anytime. She said.

I wore my clothes and joyfully went home to prepare for baby’s arrival until I decided to check goggle and found out that 'anytime' can even be upto 1weeks. I just weak.

Shaa, no labour on the 12th. For no reason, I don't like the number 13 and didn't want to give birth on that date. 13th reach, I gave myself compulsory bed rest with crossed legs sef to ensure nothing triggers contraction. I kept looking at the time and willing it to move faster. Finally, at 11pm, I freed myself from my bed rest as I decided that even if I should go into labour, I can't possibly give birth in one hour. It must fall into 14th Feb which I don't mind.

With my preferred date in mind, I did around 30 squats by that 11pm, and around 1:30pm, my water broke! However there was no contraction. Being a jjc in waterbreaking matters, I quickly ran to the hospital expected to give birth to my valentine baby. Unfortunately, I was sent back that night cos of the no contraction stuff. I was however told I would be called back for induction b4 24hrs elapses if labour doesn't start naturally before then. Like a soaked hen, I carried my delivery package home.

Labour no gree come shaa, but around 7pm, I was called for the induction and by 11pm, the process started. Looking at the time, I already knew I couldn't meet up with valentine anymore.

Active labour began around 3am when I started begging to be checked. The nurse did and said I was 3cm dilated. I fainted and woke up. With all my confidence that labour would be fast considering its my second journey! Shaa, thank God for the laughing gas I was given as pain management. It helped shaa. Long story short, by 4am, i was dilated to 5cm. At that point, i could swear that i was at my limit. By 5am, i was at 8cm and finally became fully dilated around 6am.

Time to push, i was already tired but well determined to end it. Three long pushes, with the warning that i was pushing with my legs instead of my bum, my prince charming flew out. I was checked and declared tearless. Thank God!
For my first baby, i was given episiotomy and that probably made the delivery faster. I was humbled by this experience as i realised that pushing without cuts is actually ...

All the same, thanks to team february for having me. I now sign officially into 4th tremester which unfortunately has been stressful so far. But we are all overcomers in all circumstances. Safe delivery to all remaining mamas.

Forgive all errors. I typed all this feeling sleepy and i can"t reread abeg. Senior mamas, i dey vex for una shaa. If bs has been flying around here as it has always been, i would have been better prepared about what to expect with this totally different experience.

I used Airforce Base Hospital Ikeja for my first. It was a wonderful experience!

I know you didn't ask me, but I'd like to answer, if you don't mind.

You can't practice both in Nigeria and Canada with LLM. What entitles you to practice in Nigeria is the Certificate from Law School. Not even the bachelor degree I.e LL.B.

So to practice in Canada, you'll need to present that qualifying Certificate from the Nigerian Law school. With that you'll be assessed in Canada and given the further steps to qualify for practice in Canada.

If you choose to study Law from the scratch in Canada, upon qualification, you can't still practice in Nigeria without passing through the Nigerian Law School to get the qualifying certificate.
