Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Churches Pay Salaries To Musicians? by doshbass(op): 11:06am On Apr 04, 2006
@consultant doesn't it bother you that some of them come to church just because of the money rather than doing the job wholeheartedly (in the right spirit rather than flesh)
Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Churches Pay Salaries To Musicians? by doshbass(op): 3:54pm On Apr 03, 2006
Ok should we say why do churches pay church workers. I do not have any problem with paying workers, I just want to hear different views on the matter
Christianity EtcWhy Do Churches Pay Salaries To Musicians? by doshbass(op): 12:41pm On Mar 29, 2006
As a Christian I would like to have different views on why churches pay musicians or employ them on a full time contract.
I understand that musicians have to eat, but shouldn't we do everything for God free of Charge.
Some Musicians are only committed to the church because of the money and that they are on a signed contract, don't churches have a responsibility of leading everyone to the right path.
In America for example, most churches pay their musicians full salary, sometimes even more than their circular counterparts. These Musicians are fully committed to the church, and they must go for every single rehearsals, service and events that the church holds. Some people believe that if you do something free for God, the Reward will be greater

What is your Opinion, Is it right or wrong to be paid as a musician for your services to the Church

ProgrammingRe: Need Help On MS Access And Outlook VBA (Sending Email) by doshbass(op): 5:12pm On Mar 24, 2006
So how exactly can i do this?
ProgrammingRe: Need Help On MS Access And Outlook VBA (Sending Email) by doshbass(op): 3:58pm On Mar 24, 2006
actually, some messages bounce back from the recipeints email sever because they are too many, so webmails and organisation mail servers dont allow messages with so many contacts to go through cos they see it as spam mails.

Actually how can i write a code to send individual messages to multiple Recipients without using any kind of addins
ProgrammingNeed Help On MS Access And Outlook VBA (Sending Email) by doshbass(op): 2:31pm On Mar 24, 2006
In my organisation, we have some contact list in an access database which are about 200 records. i have a command button in access that inserts all the contacts into my outlooks new message (mailtosmiley. The problem is that our organisation email server does not send mails to up to 200 contacts at a time except the number is halved to say 100 contacts. it recognises it as sending spam

i need to develop some kind of vba code that will divide all the 200 contacts into 2 and send both sets of 100 contacts the same message.

what are my different options apart from doing it manually which defeats the purpose of IT?

@sbucareer
I hope it works, but seriously all our usb port has been disabled, which means i have to burn it unto a disk, this place is secured and crazy, I'm not sure if an exe file will work, but i will try. and with the website one, lets not consider that as an option
ProgrammingRe: Database For My Workplace by doshbass(op): 11:32am On Mar 20, 2006
@sbucareer

I work for the Home office and the Home Office have their General IT Contractor, I work for the parole board which is within the homeoffice. The Homeoffice spends a lot of money on it, but they see our departments project as little compared to other General IT Projects. Each department can build tere own database around what is available to them which is a shared folder. This software will be used by 50 people at the same time, through the shared drive folder and the databse will not be connected to any other databse. I am good at VB programming, but i can't use that due to resources. I do not have permission to install exe files. I dont have permission to access the administrative tools in the control panel. i know it sounds crazy, i dont work for the main IT department (contractor)of the homeoffice, i work for a little IT department of a homeoffice department

Hello people I need suggestions for building a databse for my workplace. To cut the whole story short, i work for a uk government organisation in London.  I do not have any control over the network. The only option i have for running a databse is from a shared folder, I do not have permission or accesss to the server. which means i am forced to use Microsoft access.  For us to run a proper database on the server we have to go through a long process by developing a business case, and giving the program to our IT infrastructure provider, who will now test it and most likely turn it down, they prefer to build it themselves or be involved in developing which will be a serious amount of money, and time

i have to build 4 powerful  database with up to 150 fields in each of them for research and quering purposes and i am seriously not feeling access.

what options do i have

what problems will i Face using Microsoft access running from a shared folder

and can Microsoft access really help

SportsWas It Fair For Togo To Have Sacked Keshi by doshbass(op): 3:10pm On Feb 14, 2006
According to the bbc sports website

"Togo's Football Federation (TFF) has sacked national coach Stephen Keshi.

The TFF's decision was announced during a television programme in Lome on Monday.

Federation officials stated that differences between Keshi and key players of the national team had forced them to take the decision"

I do not think it is really fair for Togo to have sacked Keshi after all he had done to make them qualify for the world cup. He did not get any support from Togo's FA during this nations cup tournament. So many Managers will be rushing to get that job even though there is no chance for togo getting 1 point or even a goal in the world cup. Well Keshi should come back to naija

PoliticsRe: The Nigerian Police And The 20 Naira by doshbass(m): 6:09pm On Feb 08, 2006
have we forgotten that some police officers rent thier machine guns to armed robbers, and in most cases they turn out to be the armed robber themselves. I am sure some armed robbers give the police notice that they are going to operate in a certain place, and give them some fat cash. Isnt this another level of corruption. angry

Wow i didnt know, they ve upgraded to 20naira, but they will never stop collecting bribe, maybe until that 20 naira becomes 1000 naira note, just imagining folding a 1000 naira note in their hands. am sure it will happen one day. I even heard that all these officers still have to give a portion of their income to the fat belly oga in the office.

When did the police upgrade to 20 naira, i thought it was still 5 naira sha.
Music/RadioRe: Let's Talk Jazz by doshbass(m): 9:57am On Feb 08, 2006
I am sorry, I apologise, I have just come across different people that compare them to the people I have mentioned and it really pains me, some people cant tell the difference between playing jazz and running some minor notes, these are the type of people I refer to. I totally withdraw my statement. Miller
Music/RadioRe: Let's Talk Jazz by doshbass(m): 4:55pm On Feb 07, 2006
I am a Bassist who loves Jazz, The guys that got me into jazz and music are very close friends of mine Femi Temowo and
michael Olatuja. When it comes to Nigerian Jazz players in UK that are known to top musicians in the UK Scene These two guys are on the top of the list if not the top. You cannot compare these guys to lekan, akin or agbo and co thats an insult. These guys have played in Ronnie scotts, Northsea Jazz festival, Montreaux jazz festival, pizza express etc not to now talk of the big artist they've played with like George benson, miss dynamite, terry walker, amy winehouse, soweto. ...... infact just type in Michael olatuja or femi temowo on google's browser and let google do the talking
also check out Soweto Kinch's album called "conversation with the unseen"
I am not underestimating anyother nigerian jazz musician, but these guys are the top in UK jazz, well they are not known to many nigerians.
