I am a Man Utd fan, i dont need to say who will win the premiership, but Chelsea will be stupid to loose any more games and let the titlle drop off their hands

but most of the opinions here are negative ones. Take goodguy for example, I've related to him for some time now on Nairaland, and I've always thought of him as a nice guy. Knowing he goes to cele now is making me experience some feelings of reservation towards him. Not because of him personally but because of the general idea I have about cele and from my experiences with people from cele.
Well it seems like there aren't many Celstians on nairaland to out number the negative opinions on this thread. Trust me there are many nice people in cele, for the fact you are a celestian does not mean you are evil. I was a celestian for 24 years and I wont say I use to be evil even though I go to a pentecostal church now

she rocks:
Hello everyone

He said we would need candles, minute crosses and bibles (for thanksgiving). After saying all that he said the total amount for my friend was £100 or so and me £150 (I don't remember exactly) but it was something along those lines.
what about some Pentecostal Pastors that charge you consultation fees for seeing them. Do you know how much Pastor Ashimilowo Charges? Trust me £150 is probably for 10 minutes for him.

I wouldnt say he is right or wrong, but men of God have to Eat but how much they eat is the problem. It would have been probably better to say give what you can

Sorry I forgot the fact that he or she was beaten ( I dont support that) I guess your friend was unfortunate going to the wrong Cele Parish.
I know the former Accountant General personally (through his children) I don't know what he's got to do with  this thread "Celestial: your experience and opinion"  grin
I am not attacking you alheri

Seun, I never knew the "New Post Replying yours" was what i was talking about. The reason i it wasnt obvious to me is that it doesn't change colour. It should have the number of post replying yours just like "Unread" and "Admin Messages" or have a Red colour if there is anything there (User Friendliness)
Christianity EtcRe: Celestial Church of Christ: Your Experience And Opinion by doshbass(op): 2:05pm On Apr 10, 2006
@ alheri
That could have happened in any other Church. Is it all the time you pray for something that it comes to past? Or is all the time when Pastors pray every sunday that all the goods things he prophecied to you comes to past? No.

I would keep on saying having been in Cele for 24 years. It is a Good Church and they worship Christ, but it I later discovered it was not the right church for me as i knew exactly what i was lacking and what i wanted. People know exactly what they want in a church. All Churches cannot satify you fully in every area.
If only Cele could change in some things and be more sound in the word of God week in week out and also stop using Thansgiving and songs as way to entertain people musically rather than ministering and harvest as a way to compete against other churches and partying rather than making people understand the meaning of harvest. I might consider going back.
and also the leaders need to stop fighting for ranks and concentrate more in delivering the word of God to People hungry for his word

For all you Cele peeps can you believe a church in Vienna invited Pasuma or obesere (don't know which one) to do a saturday night party for them a week before their harvest in the same hall they use as their Church service. These are the types of Cele parishes that gives Cele a bad name
Christianity EtcRe: Celestial Church of Christ: Your Experience And Opinion by doshbass(op): 12:18pm On Apr 10, 2006
I believe Cele is not a money making Church, but the Pastor is a Money making man. Do you know how much he makes from Anointing people at Imeko and other places. To make more money he did not only start giving people higher ranks (Most Snr Evang, Venerable, Superior, Mother Celestial and Assistant Mother Celestial etc) but he has gone to extent of Creating Honorary Most snr Evang and so on. Here in London, people pay about £50 to get anointed then other people pay about £200 each. Calculate how much the pastor makes with Hundred thousands or millions of celestians world wide. To Spoil everything is that the man does not even care about completing the building of Celestial Holy City in Imeko which has been going on for about 20 years or even more
Music/RadioRe: Are There Instrumentalists In Nairaland by doshbass(m): 11:41pm On Apr 08, 2006
Guys from My Experience, I will always advice people to stick to just 1 instrument and be the master in it, rather than jumping from instrument to another. I only play the bass guitar fullstop. I think one of the problem we have in Nigeria is that so many people want to be the guy that can play any instrument rather than being the best at your instrument. I have come across many nigerian instrumentalist that when you tell them you like what they play, they tell you "This is not my main instrument oh"
I guess nothing is their main instrument, its always the other instrument.
It is good to know how to play another instrument, sometimes when i practise at home I play keyboard to help me move around chord changes on bass, This does not mean I now have to learn Keys to start playing it outsiide.

We know of cases whereby pastors really really councell young girls (I don't have to get into details)
what i meant her was other denominational pastors apart from cele also do the same

@goodguy I specifically said the melodies not the Lyrics.

it's not a good enivorment. everyone is in everyones private life. sleeping with each others wifes or husband.
I can say in Cele they proudly do all these act of adultery and fornication openly but other Churches are smarter about it (or should i say not open) We know of cases whereby pastors really really councell young girls (I dont have to get into details)

BTW,their hymns are still the best anywhere in christiandom, bar none!
I used to think that before I discovered that there are many hymns all over the world with similar melodies. Some churches had been using these melodies way before Cele was established

Seun, It will be nice if we can be able to have a list of all threads we are involved in, I know you have the "show post" feature which is ok but we should all have a space with Threads we are involved in, with the stats for that thread i.e number of post since we last checked, last poster etc. It should  be included on our  first page when we log in to nairaland. People usually have post in so many threads that they loose track and can't be involved in a thread they were participating in

What do you think?

Music/RadioRe: Are There Instrumentalists In Nairaland by doshbass(m): 9:11am On Apr 07, 2006
@ emmeno.  The honest truth is that, it all depends on how well people are paying their tithes, or should i say depending on the church's purse, and also how Important a Pastors sees a Choir. Some pastors don't really care abot the Choir's performance, and thats is the mistake they are making.  A Good Choir brings more Congregation and it also uplift the spirit and wins soul.
Yes Church's are looking for Musicians because they always mess up previous musicians and bring a bad name to themselves. And in London You can't afford to be messed up for just 1 week salary not to talk of months salary

Oracle:
hmmmm undecided Playing a club tune Well you're still borrowing somthing from the club
for me i only nak drum because i don't play it
Music is Music, you can use it from anywhere to somewhere and apply it anyhow you like, if it sounds good then use it

@doshbass Nice representing. Do u play in a club or church? or both?
Thankfully by God's grace, I play at church and also for a Big Gospel Group in the UK, not really into playing at Clubs but as you may know Gospel Music is playing any style, so I could be interested in playing a Club tune but not playing in a club

What Do People Have Against Celestial Church

I used to go Cele from when i was born till when 1 was 24, then I left to go to a Pentecostal church. I know people have different issues and experiences. I know why I left Cele, I would never say it is not a Church and they don't worship Christ, they do, but maybe in this day and age they way they worship is not acceptable (does not go with what is currently happening).

There are also different denominations of church that are into bad practices (African JUJU and all sorts of nonsense), that give their other churches bad names, unfortunately that is common with Cele. One other thing about Cele is the Leadership, they are just like the Nigerian Government

What is your experience of Cele and what do you think of the Church?
Music/RadioRe: Are There Instrumentalists In Nairaland by doshbass(m): 3:44pm On Apr 06, 2006
I really dont have to say what I play as my name says it all, but for those of you that are very slow I dont play an instrument called dosh, I play the Bass
CareerRe: How To Approach Your Boss For A Raise (Salary) by doshbass(m): 3:31pm On Apr 06, 2006
I think its all about your work, if you know your company cannot do without you then you have a good chance for playing games like Kimba but if your people feel that they can do without you then you may be in trouble if you play Kimba's game.
You see, we all believe in ourselves and mostly believe that because we are really good the company can't do without us, but let me shock you, some bosses don't appreciate or recognise good work.
My advice is ask for a rise, if your boss really thinks he can't do without you, he or she will give you. don't play risky games because its difficult to get a job in naija

Kbstar are you show you werent looking at my Exercise book when I was writing my idea down?
TravelRe: Will Lagos Ever Be Like Abuja? by doshbass(m): 2:37pm On Apr 06, 2006
The question all of you should ask is when Abuja will be like Lagos in terms of pollution, congestion and so on. Dont worry give it some more time, it is not overcrowded yet cos so many people are treking to Abuja at the moment, and you if you are treking(walking) to a place it takes time to get there. Over population and Congestion is what is killing Lagos at the moment, so we need to migrate people to Abuja from Lagos for Lagos to be like Abuja.
