I Think onigbinde would have done a better job than this useless Amodu, Even Egauavon wasn't this bad
Sports / Re: African Nations Cup: Egypt Vs Nigeria - (3-1) by doshbass(m): 6:32pm On Jan 12, 2010
i'm sure these players bribe Amodu with foreign currencies
Sports / Re: African Nations Cup: Egypt Vs Nigeria - (3-1) by doshbass(m): 6:24pm On Jan 12, 2010
Amodu does not believe in the home based players, cos he thinks they don't have enough international experience, Does he have enough international experience as a Coach, He cannot do the basic thing of selecting fit and good enough players for a tournament or match. We don't deserve the World cup ticket as representative of Africa.
Politics / Re: Open Letter Of Complaint On E-passport Exploitative Charges Abroad by doshbass(m): 4:28pm On Oct 19, 2009
luckily for me in the UK, I only paid $110 equivalent in pounds, but my friend had to pay the £50 extra when he went there a few weeks after mine. There is no consistency in that place, the rules and procedures change everyday. There is no organisation in that place and they just pack people like sardines in their smelling basement while the staff enjoy big offices upstairs.

Chairman Nethacker, You dey try oo i think it really depends on your own understanding of what Music theory and practical really is,

Its not about just holding the guitar and striking some sweet notes its way beyond that , This man cannot even play a 4 note phrase CONSISTENTLY for 30 seconds, His music is pleasant to hearing to doubt but it does not meet the academia standard for been appointed as a music lecturer, I'ld rather him lecture at the cultural center or centre for african arts and culture, I rest my case

ifababa:

,

Oga remii na wao, Please try to verify information before you pass it unto us in this forum oo, Sunny ade was not the first nigerian to be neminated for grammy's, Actually a nigerian musician called Babatunde Olatunji  has won grammys before, In 1991 Olatunji received a Grammy Award for his
collaboration with Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart on "Planet Drum, Won a nomination for the 1998 Grammy for Best World Music Album,

He speaks english comprehensively well though, but music is taught in the language of music and that is why we call music a UNIVERSAL language, I wont be surprised if you dont understand what i mean,

If by chance OAU wants to give that honour to any nigerian artiste, then they should have given it to the one that is mostly deserved of it in all ways before his death. And that is no other person than FELA  ANIKULAPO KUTI, As a matter of fact his music is studied at different institutions cut across the globe, and OAU Herself would be so honoured to have someone like fela lecture there,

The point is that the effect of your music amongst the music elites in the country and around the world  is what should be the basis of granting such honour ,

Allnotwithstanding there is still something the students can learn from him, especially those that wants to study JUJU MAJOR, smiley smiley smiley smiley

The appointment as a lecturer is not really needed because he doesnt understand the language of MUSIC, but if you argue that he does, then there's high hopes for  the likes of 9ice,tuface,Konga,Oriefonkasibe and the likes, even Kleva j, I rest my case

well said My brother, I guess some people don't know the difference between abeing professional musician and a performing artist. This is University Level we are talking about you know, the curriculum for music across the world is the same, as a Musician you want o learn how to sight read and write music first before anything else, People that want to get into JUJU Music do not need to go to university to learn it, Maybe KSA should set up a JUJU Music school
Politics / Re: Oau Appoints Sunny Ade As A University Lecturer. by doshbass(m): 12:53pm On Jun 09, 2009
I guess he can educate them on History of African and Juju Music, experience of world music and how to be a sucessful artist or performer, which is not the same as a Musician
Politics / Re: Oau Appoints Sunny Ade As A University Lecturer. by doshbass(m): 12:02pm On Jun 08, 2009
deor03:

I totally disagree with you on this. You have to look at the environment where sunny ade operates. By all standards, he is a success in what he is doing ( or has done). In Nigeria or in his catchment area ( yoruba speaking part of the world) , you don't need to be able to read music to to deliver.

Since these students are being prepared for this local market, they should also have a taste of the local success . KSA experience in the industry will be able to impact on the students future choices.

otherwise , they will end up having opera concerts with empty seats and ofcourse empty pockets in future

well I do not understand how Music is being taught in Nigeria, I'm a musician, and I belief as any music student in any university in the world, you have learn the basics of music which is reading and writing music, do you think its only opera music that they site read and write, Juju music can successfully be written. But most african music is about playing what you feel which is called improvisation in Music, so that is why site reading is not as important in performing. I still think that KSA can bring some experience to the university as a seasoned lecturer which means like once or twice a year but not everyday teaching
Politics / Re: Oau Appoints Sunny Ade As A University Lecturer. by doshbass(m): 11:39am On Jun 08, 2009
I do not see any point of him being a lecturer for practical music, Can he read Music? It makes sense for him to come once in a while and give students lecture in his style of music and he's experience in the world music environment.

I do not consider him as a professional Musician, To be a music Teacher, you have to be able to read and play any music from a score sheet. Can KSA do this? if he can the I support his appoitment as a lecturer, if not he should be a seasoned guest lecturer

don't get me wrong he is a legend and a good artist and performer and he's one of the best in JUJU music

Politics / Re: Would Nigeria Be A Better Place With A White President? by doshbass(m): 2:48pm On Apr 25, 2008
No matter who becomes president, if the people around the president (ministers, senators, judges, governors etc) do not stop being corrupt then it's a waste of time. We need honest people to Govern the country.

Honestly, the players are to be blamed, i heard the play very well during training, i dont think the players would have played better right now under mourinho, we need to fire all the players and look for people that are commited to break a leg for their country
Sports / Should The Super Falcons Have Represented Us In Afc by doshbass(m): 4:08pm On Jan 29, 2008
I think the Super Falcons would have performed better than the stupid Eagles, maybe we should organise a friendly match between both of them. I am sure it will either be goaless or the Falcons beat the Eagles by 1 goal.

To be quite honest, i have never heard anyone talk about Excel vba in Nigeria before.
i just wanted to be sure, but it looks as if its true, Excel Vba is not popularly used in the finance sector in Nigeria
Programming / Is Excel Vba Popular In Your Country by doshbass(m): 2:18pm On Jun 01, 2007
Are there any Excel VBA developers in the house?
I need to know how Excel VBA is doing in Nigeria in particular, in Europe, its hot cake, especially if you are working in the financial sector, its more common with Traders and Banks.
I think so many people have unsdersetimated the Power of Excel. It looks easy and just as simple application like word but its not.
I work for a big Oil and Gas company here in the uK and my excel spreadsheet that i support and develop saves them multi millions of pounds in Operation.

Do you have any opinion on Excel Vba or have u got any experience with it

Politics / Re: Musa Yar'adua Is The New President Of Nigeria! by doshbass(m): 4:36pm On Apr 23, 2007
I think we should just move on and accept the result, I dont think they can ever be a free and fair result in nigeria, even if they rerun the election 100 times, the touts will still do what they have to do, people will still die, and they will be fraud. We have Learnt a big lesson, so I guess Poitical Parties, National Assembly and the Senate will know what to do in preparation for the next election.

If you ask for a rerun of the election, we r only giving Obasanjo more time, i dont think 6 months is enough for inec or the country to prepare again for another re-election.

Lets just hope that Yaradua will do good for the country and not follow obasanjo's footsteps

Politics / Re: Atiku’s Name Not On Ballot Paper - Ac Alleges by doshbass(m): 3:34pm On Apr 19, 2007
don't forget Tinubu delivered his state. I heard Obj was at INec office in Lagos as they were counting the ballot, people had to call Tinubu to come down aswell before Baba does his Magic, as soon as Baba saw Tinubu he got angry and went away.
Tinubu did not give room to PDP atall, same as Kalu, Atiku and Buhari could have done the same but i guess they are not as powerful as kalu and tinubu in their respective states.

I have realised that this election is about who is more powerful in an area or state, obviously in Oyo we know who, even in Ogun what happened to Baba's ward, they dare not release that result.

PDP is crap, i hope they all go to hell, its a shame noone could deliver other states to AC apart from Tinubu
