My friend placed his domain for $500, he got buyer for it in UK for the same $500, after agreement, he got another message from Dubai oil money country asking the price, he told them he already got buyer for it. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday, July 19, 2013 arrested Dr. Princewell Arinze Chukwueze, an alleged serial fraudster, over a $92,000(Ninety-Two Thousand United States Dollars) scam. Chukwueze was arrested in Abuja by operatives of the EFCC following a two month frantic manhunt for him. His arrest followed an allegation of fraudulent transactions involving him and a notable Bureau de change operator in Lagos on May 10, 2013. Specifically, Chukwueze fraudulently introduced himself as Aboki J. Brown, a Director of African Development Bank based in Cote D’ Ívoire to the Bureau de change operator at Sura Shopping Complex, Sandgrouse, Lagos. He initially offered to buy $65,000 (Sixty-Five Thousand United States Dollars) from him but later increased it to $92,000(Ninety-Two Thousand United States Dollars). To pay the naira equivalent of the dollars, he requested the operator to meet him at a branch of Wema Bank Plc in Lekki, Lagos. When the operator got to the bank with the dollars, Chukwueze fraudulently changed the bank where he intended to offer him the naira equivalent of the foreign currency and pleaded with the operator to accompany him in his siren-blaring Toyota Hilux Pick-Up Van to a “nearby branch of Zenith Bank Plc”. En route to the bank, Chukwueze picked up two armed men on the road who forcefully dispossessed the operator of the $92,000(Ninety-Two Thousand United States Dollars). Chukwueze was arrested in Abuja while he was employing the same antics to defraud another bureau de change operator of $110,000(One Hundred and Ten Thousand United States Dollars). He was also alleged to have defrauded several bureau de change operators in Lagos and Abuja using different gimmicks. One of his victims, a lady who would not want to be named, said Chukwueze duped her firm of $110,000(One Hundred and Ten Thousand United States Dollars). The suspect is also implicated in some other cases being investigated by the EFCC. Items recovered from him included 21 different telephone handsets, complimentary cards of African Development Bank bearing Aboki J. Brown, fake $15,000 (Fifteen Thousand United States Dollar notes); different cheque books of different banks among others. Chukwueze will soon be charged to court. Wilson Uwujaren Ag. It was a pathetic drama in the Owerri High Court premises Friday morning when an inmate who is believed to have awaited trial in prison for upwards of seven years was acquitted of any wrong doing and discharged by an Owerri Magistrate Court. According to CrimeFacts, instead of the usual jubilation that follow any ruling of ‘discharged and acquitted’, the inmate, Sylvester Obata (not real names); wearing a long face, headed straight for the Prison van that brought them to court, only to be intercepted by a prison guard who reminded him he was free to go home. To the chagrin of eyewitnesses, Obata said he was going nowhere demanding to be allowed entry into the Prison Van back to prison. The prison guard who mistook Obata’s statement for a weird joke was jolted when he tried to push him away from the prison van and was defiantly resisted by the freed inmate. What seemed like a mild drama turned nearly absurd when the calm of the court premises was shattered by Obata’s shouts and pleas to be allowed to go back to prison and he thrashed about and struggled with several prison officials who wanted him out of the court and on his way home. According to eyewitnesses, it took the effort of over six prison officials, court workers and policemen to get the freed inmate out of the court premises. Obata who refused to buldge even in the face of threats of brutality by security men, had to be dragged on the floor while he raised hell in the court premises. Outside the prison, Obata sustained his raving, telling whoever cared to listen why he should be allowed to remain in jail. According to him, setting him free was no big deal, but his plight outside prison is what the court should have also considered. Said he, “I have no place to go or anybody to go to. I have no job or business.I want to go back to prison where I can at least be sure to eat something everyday.” The evidently apprehensive former prison inmate, demanded to see the Chief Judge of the state to plead his case himself and explain to him why it was better to keep him in prison than outside prison. http://www.pakurumo.com/2013/07/inmate-refuses-to-leave-court-premises.html
