I visited Croatia with my family and I can confirm that it's one one of the best countries to relocate to. If you know what you're doing, just go there legally and hide your head there. You will prosper. Blacks are not many there so you can't really stay long there illegally because they will nick you. I have two Nigerian friends there and they own an African restaurant there in Zagreb. Check my thread about my visit here and how to apply for their visa here... Good luck.

It's easier said than done. Let it be your turn and experience such terrible treatment from someone you sacrificed for, you will understand. Forgiveness doesn't mean communication. They should leave the man alone and continue with their ungrateful attitude they will meet it in front. It's karma.

Good day justwise. Please i need your suggestion about this. A cousin is about to submit his application for a tourist visa application. His employer (company) is sponsoring his trip for 10 days holiday. He will provide his own personal bank statement. But the problem is that his employer's bank statement closing balance is just N1m, but the same company have transactions of millions like 55m, 35m etc in the account before the recent closing balance of N1m. Does it matter?

I invited her in 2023 and was granted 3 months visit visa. My observation is that: "Be honest and explain everything and your intention in your statement of purpose". Many people underrate State of Purpose (SOP). It's really good. She has since then visited me and went back to Nigeria and i am sure if she apply to for UK visa now she will be granted. Though i'm an Irish citizen but i don't think that has anything to do with their decision. It's all about being honest in your application especially your SOP. I learned this from Justwise and Vicjustice, i really appreciate them. Just be honest.

Discharge and acquittal are terms under criminal justice system used to convey that an accused person has been exonerated from a criminal charge brought against him.

The order of acquittal is clearly to the effect that the accused is adjudged innocent by a court of competent jurisdiction. He is found not guilty and cannot be re-arrested based on the same subject matter.

A discharge means releasing an accused from custody due to unsubstantiated charges to proceed with the case. The accused can be re-arrested on admittance of new evidence or charges (i.e there is an element of guilt).

Croatia is a very beautiful peaceful quiet country. I was there for holiday for few days. If you are a very focused person and don't have the mentality of running up and down from one country to another, you can hide your head in that country, develop yourself and build your future there as long as you don't go beyond your boundaries. See the thread I created during my visit to Croatia. Visa is very straightforward in Nigeria through VFS non appearance. In fact I am currently planning to go there again this summer.

CelebritiesBaba Ijesha Did Not Rape, May Be Released- Police Source by dotcomnamename(op): 8:03am On Apr 29, 2021
Baba Ijesha may be released Friday – Police source

A senior officer at the Lagos State Police Command has confirmed to PUNCH Metro that a directive had been given for the release of Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, aka Baba Ijesha, from custody.

The source said due to the ongoing strike by members of the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria, courts had ceased from sitting and the suspect could not be detained indefinitely without trial.

The source, however, said investigation into the recent allegation against Omiyinka revealed that he did not defile the victim, adding that when she was questioned, the victim confirmed the same.

The senior police officer stated, “There was no case of defilement, people are just talking out of sentiment. They are not talking from the point of law. We interviewed all parties involved in the case for three hours today (Wednesday).

“The mother complained that her child was at the age of seven when she was defiled and the child pointed at Baba Ijesha. But the case was not reported until she was 14 years and under the law, the case has become statute-barred.

“Regarding this new case, the CCTV footage has been assessed and nowhere was it captured that Baba Ijesha defiled her. The footage only showed him touching the victim’s body but it never showed him having any sexual intercourse with the girl. The girl also confirmed the same thing.

“So, in law, it is a case of indecent assault and not sexual harassment, and it is open to bail. So, can we continue to keep him when the offence is subject to bail and when there is no court sitting? That is against his fundamental human rights and the police do not work on sentiments. Directives have been given out for his release on bail.”

The source, however, said that despite granting Omiyinka bail, investigation would continue, adding that the command had also sought legal opinion from the state Ministry of Justice.

The source added, “A test was recently done on the victim and it was discovered that she had penetration. Is it the penetration of seven years that is still evident now, and who penetrated her then? Is there any medical report linking the man (Omiyinka) to the crime?

“The CCTV footage never showed Baba Ijesha defiling her, but he confessed to touching her body indecently and apologised, and the girl confirmed the same.

“Investigation is still ongoing and we have instructed them to conduct a medical examination on the victim at a government recognised medical facility. We are not specialists in the field and we have also sought legal opinion from the Ministry of Justice.”

Meanwhile, popular comedienne, Adekola Adekanya, aka Princess, narrated details of the incident during a live broadcast on Instagram on Wednesday.

During the broadcast, she said people, who were compassionate about her childlessness, entrusted the victim and five other children to her care, adding that after Omiyinka allegedly defiled the minor, she started behaving strangely.

She stated, “The child started failing in school, I paid for private lessons and when I told my family, they told me we should pray, maybe it is spiritual. But I kept on saying that something is wrong, this child has changed.

“My friend talked to the child again to know what was going on, she told us what happened, I was shocked… I called the CCTV company to set a camera, we asked everybody to go out and stay in a neighbour’s house, she (the victim) was afraid, we said she should calm down…

“He came in and saw that there was nobody at home and I told him I want to see dstv people off and I will stay long…I dropped my phone, went out and locked the door. Two seconds later, he stood up, begin to check my whole house to be sure that none of the children were inside sleeping.

“I can’t begin to relay the things that he did, I was shaking because we were monitoring it on the phone. Police came immediately and picked him up, I asked him, Lanre, what is my offense? You know I didn’t give birth and the children were in my care so I won’t be thinking and you did something like this to me? He said it is the devil…”

Real Madrid will not play the same game you saw yesterday. They are far too experienced for that. They clearly underestimated Chelsea. They won't make the same mistake twice. Home and away doesn't count in empty stadiums.

I assess outcomes by the residual levels of potentials. Chelsea played at almost 100 percent of their potentials to get that result while Madrid were less than 60 percent.
Obviously Madrid will never play the same game of yesterday, I knew they underestimated Chelsea yesterday, I am of the opinion that Chelsea will not want to attack like yesterday, I have the feeling Chelsea will park the bus to achieve 0-0 and reach final on away goal. Though Madrid are good in away in UCL.

BusinessRe: What's The Best Way You Ever Dealt With A Debtor Who Refused To Pay? by dotcomnamename: 10:21am On Apr 27, 2021
histemple:
Your comment is even the funniest. More so, it could mislead others about the laws of the land.

First, a debtor is not a criminal and can not be arrested or invited by the police. The police is not empowered by the law to investigate or handle civil matters. Although some overzealous police officers do dabble into civil matters and go free because most of such people are either illiterates or ignorant of their rights.

Secondly, if this person became a debtor because you lent him/her the money, then you may even go to jail if you don't have the "Money Lenders License" that empowers you to lend money.

Now, do not mistake the exceptions. For example if somebody is owing you because you paid for goods and he failed to supply the goods but instead promised to return the money, the police will treat it as a criminal case of Obtaining By Tricks (OBT).

But if somebody is owing you because you completed a contract and he refused to pay for the work done, you can only sue him even for damages, provided you have documents to justify such claims.
This is not correct. A debtor can be arrested provided that a pre-action notice has been served first and the debtor did not pay back, then follow by petition to the police, if the debtor still did not pay, then you will go to the police station and write a statement. Once you visit the police station and write the statement, then the police have full right to either invite the debtor or go and arrest th debtor. At this stage, some police will go for an arrest because their believe is that if they invite the debtor usually the debtor's lawyer will block the invitation on fundamental ground, so some police station prefer to go for arrest and they have the right to do so because pre-action notice and petition has been served already. Then its either the debtor agree to write undertaking for repayment right inside the police station or straight to court.

In summary, police can arrest debtor. I am 1000% sure of this.

CrimeRe: What You Need To Know When Directed By The Police To Write A Statement by dotcomnamename: 11:12pm On Apr 26, 2021
saydfact:
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW WHEN DIRECTED BY THE POLICE TO WRITE A STATEMENT:

If the police ask you to write a statement, which they normally do when they stop you on the road and take you to their station or when they invite you to their station, you should know how to write a good statement that will not implicate you.

First, whether you write a statement as a witness or as a suspect, you must understand that your statement is very likely going to be used against you either in court or for the purpose of blackmail by some officers (not all). Therefore, take your statement writing as a serious matter.

Remember that you have right to refuse to write a statement until your lawyer is present. But this normally leads to argument and hostile reactions from the police, and it may likely be a pretext for them not releasing you immediately.

There are no hard and fast rules as to the content of a statement. It is supposed to be what you know in relation to an incident or the reason for you being brought to the station. Since the statement is not just a general view on anything you like, it is important that you know the reason for which you have been brought to the station.

For those who have been suspected of committing an offense, make sure that before you start writing a statement, you ask the officer the offense for which you have been brought to the station. If he tells you that there is no offense, that they just want you to tell them all you know, you can politely say: No, Sir. The police force is meant to enforce the criminal law. Therefore, the police would not have any justification to bring you to the station except if they suspect that an offense has been committed somewhere by somebody - either you or someone else. And you need to know the offense and the person suspected before you could write your statement.

Also, if you were arrested or invited as a result of a petition written against you, you must demand to read carefully that petition before you start giving your statement.

When you start your statement, make sure you explain in your statement the reason for which you have been asked to make your statement. For instance, you can say something like: "I was stopped while driving my vehicle with registration number xxxxx on ________ street in _______ city. After showing my papers to officer xxxxxxx, I was taken to the police station and informed that my car was suspected of being stolen car"

Then you make your statement. You will see that the police will not like this. But you should be able to state the summary of the circumstances that led to you having to make a statement in the station.

I will say more about writing statements at police stations. For now, just get the idea that you should explain why you are making a statement and the offenses you were told you were suspected of. You should state that in your statement before you begin to write other things

POST SCRIPT: The reason you have to state in your statement the reason for making a statement is obvious. Your statement when read by a third party can only make sense in the context of the matter that prompted the statement. So, if you didn't state the matter to which your statement relates, the police may change the matter down the line. Initially, you thought you were arrested because of stolen vehicle, but the police later charged it to kidnapping. If a judge is reading your statement in a kidnapping case, he will think you were evading the issues. He will think you were dodging the matter that you don't want to answer the question. And he will form a negative opinion of you based on your presumably inconclusive and evasive statement . So be careful and be wise

SportsArsenal Confirm Joining European Super League by dotcomnamename(op): 11:38pm On Apr 18, 2021
We have joined 11 European clubs as founding members of a new midweek competition, the European Super League.

There’s lots more to do to bring the competition to life and we will continue to update our supporters as things progress.

More information can be found in a joint statement released by the Founding Clubs below. In the meantime, our focus is on finishing this season as strongly as possible.

Leading European football clubs announce new Super League competition

Twelve of Europe’s leading football clubs have today come together to announce they have agreed to establish a new mid-week competition, the Super League, governed by its Founding Clubs.

AC Milan, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur have all joined as Founding Clubs. It is anticipated that a further three clubs will join ahead of the inaugural season, which is intended to commence as soon as practicable.

Going forward, the Founding Clubs look forward to holding discussions with UEFA and FIFA to work together in partnership to deliver the best outcomes for the new League and for football as a whole.

The formation of the Super League comes at a time when the global pandemic has accelerated the instability in the existing European football economic model. Further, for a number of years, the Founding Clubs have had the objective of improving the quality and intensity of existing European competitions throughout each season, and of creating a format for top clubs and players to compete on a regular basis.

The pandemic has shown that a strategic vision and a sustainable commercial approach are required to enhance value and support for the benefit of the entire European football pyramid.

In recent months extensive dialogue has taken place with football stakeholders regarding the future format of European competitions. The Founding Clubs believe the solutions proposed following these talks do not solve fundamental issues, including the need to provide higher- quality matches and additional financial resources for the overall football pyramid.

Competition format

20 participating clubs with 15 Founding Clubs and a qualifying mechanism for a further five teams to qualify annually based on achievements in the prior season.
Midweek fixtures with all participating clubs continuing to compete in their respective national leagues, preserving the traditional domestic match calendar which remains at the heart of the club game.
An August start with clubs participating in two groups of ten, playing home and away fixtures, with the top three in each group automatically qualifying for the quarter finals. Teams finishing fourth and fifth will then compete in a two-legged play-off for the remaining quarter-final positions. A two-leg knockout format will be used to reach the final at the end of May, which will be staged as a single fixture at a neutral venue.
As soon as practicable after the start of the men’s competition, a corresponding women’s league will also be launched, helping to advance and develop the women’s game.

The new annual tournament will provide significantly greater economic growth and support for European football via a long-term commitment to uncapped solidarity payments which will grow in line with league revenues.

These solidarity payments will be substantially higher than those generated by the current European competition and are expected to be in excess of €10 billion during the course of the initial commitment period of the Clubs.

In addition, the competition will be built on a sustainable financial foundation with all Founding Clubs signing up to a spending framework. In exchange for their commitment, Founding Clubs will receive an amount of €3.5 billion solely to support their infrastructure investment plans and to offset the impact of the COVID pandemic.

Florentino Perez, Real Madrid president and the first chairman of the Super League said: “We will help football at every level and take it to its rightful place in the world. Football is the only global sport in the world with more than four billion fans and our responsibility as big clubs is to respond to their desires.”

Backing the new European league, Andrea Agnelli, chairman of Juventus and vice-chairman of the Super League said: "“Our 12 Founder clubs represent billions of fans across the globe and 99 European trophies. We have come together at this critical moment, enabling European competition to be transformed, putting the game we love on a sustainable footing for the long-term future, substantially increasing solidarity, and giving fans and amateur players a regular flow of headline fixtures that will feed their passion for the game while providing them with engaging role models.”

Joel Glazer, co-chairman of Manchester United and vice-chairman of the Super League said: "“By bringing together the world’s greatest clubs and players to play each other throughout the season, the Super League will open a new chapter for European football, ensuring world- class competition and facilities, and increased financial support for the wider football pyramid.”
