They are powerful because they control the Armed Forces! Simple! People always misunderstand the saying "power comes from the barrel of the gun". But look at that deeply and you will see it is true! Power can't be enforced without reasonable force! It doesn't go more than that. Some of you are starting to attribute all sorts of extra terrestrial political intelligence to these northerners who in my own view, play very predictable brand of politics.

The best thing that the northerners did was to not fight the British so virulently as the igbos did. It made them trusted allies of the West post independence and they have been leveraging on that to solidify their political domination in Nigeria ever since, while the British provides them with the international diplomatic cover they need to do so. Have you asked why there is no term like "The Biafra Genocide" in serious international discussions, even when the killing of almost 5 million easterners in a space of just 3 year should qualify as nothing but genocide? It's the British working! And the North pays the Western world handsomely for this. That's why the British and the Americans own most of Nigerias Oil and gas deposits.

Secondly, you have to appreciate the events of 1966. For whatever reasons, the whole country joined the north to decimate the igbo domination of The Nigerian Army post January 15th coup. The north took over permanently and have been calling the shots ever since. The southern groups that helped the north to take over, became docile and just watched from the sidelines. And we had endless northern instigated military coups. These coups led to a litany of military tyrants who created endless states and local governments and government agencies and made sure that all favoured the north. They even relocated the federal capital to Abuja!

What you are seeing politically today are the benefits of these actions taken during the military days. The fake census, the huge Local governments and states that produce more delegates during election periods. The endless military and Police posts in the North and commanders of northern extraction, who will unleash force to see through any government policies that favor the north. That is it. Every major ethnic group that has dominated power in every country played similar games. Whether the Hutus in Rwanda, the quasi Arabs in Sudan, the kukuyis in Kenya or the ewe in Togo. If you want to change things, you have to find a way to uproot them, the same way the North found a way to uproot the igbos in July 1966.

One thing you must know is that Buhari will NEVER hand over to somebody he didn't pick! Whether it's the PDP or the APC that wins, it will have little to do with your PVC but with Buharis ruthless drive to impose his choice. Buhari is not Mr Dogood Jonathan Goodluck! And Buharis choice must be a northerner! Buharis worldview revolves around the North and The North alone! Buhari will NEVER hand over to a southerner! Keep this in mind! Irrespective of who wins The APC convention.. Buhari will rather allow Atiku win than hand over to these southerners. Let's watch and see.

If the north and Buhari truly wants the continuation of Nigeria, then they should allow a free and fair primaries.
There are few things to note about the south east .
The masses want Biafra
The elites want political power
They have nothing to lose their game plan is negative hence they are in support of the north retaining the presidency or better still Peter Obi from labour party clinches it which is actually highly impossible.
The Southwest is the region holding the South with little or no agitation.
And I believe the political elites know what to do .
I for one has always been happy Obi decamped from PDP to drive a point that presidency must come to the South, but looking at it Obi should have stayed in PDP to fight it till the end and he and Wike could have aligned with either emerging the PDP candidate.
That's why I'm against Osinbajo aspirations coz he's also light weighted over ambitious politician and he's going to reduce the chances of the southwest.
I hope this can be rectified with the body language from the APC chairman declaration yesterday.
Those referring to Tinubu effort in defeating Jonathan are either dumb or schizophrenic. We were all complaining about the massive corruption in the government. Its the duty of an opposition to try to take power and Jonathan was not just clueless but weak . But who would have known Buhari government will come with these hardship.
I will always support Tinubu, I'm a beneficiary of his policies and visions like wise all Lagosians, every Nigerian that is beneficiary of the working system in Lagos and contributes to Nigeria is also a beneficiary, I can tell you he's the most experienced and prepared for this at this time

If you support Tinupoo for overthrowing Jonathan, why are you against Osibanjo for daring to capture power? Is power only meant for Tinupoo? And what is all these noise about how Tinupoo did this and that in Lagos? What exactly are those inventive policies he put down in Lagos? He recruited his boys into power? Fashola then cleared Oshodi!? Lol! What exactly? Oh! Tax and Spend? He was busy imposing huge tax increases on struggling businesses to do what exactly? Build roads that are also done elsewhere? Someone said Eko Atlantic! I mean, how ridiculous can you guys be? How many housing estates spring up in Abuja on monthly basis? Why are the endless Ministers of the FCT not being worshipped for these same way you worship Tinupoo?

Lagos doesn't even have the best road network in Nigeria, neither do the have the best hospitals or schools, yet they have an economy as big as Ghanas! A function of her status as the former Nigerias capital. Simple! Go to Jigawa and see what Sule Lamido did. Lamido turned Jigawa around! New airport, new housing estates, urban roads. What did Tinupoo do? Lagos was built by federal heavy investments on infastructure! Tinupoo to me is a colorless politician who was just lucky to be manning the most prosperous state in Nigeria. Unless you were born in the 90s, otherwise you will know that Lagos was made before Tinupoo. As at the time of Marwa and Otedolas, Lagos was doing very well.

I laugh at these Southern politicians congratulating them for all these thier over dramatized press releases infavour of a Southern presidency, it is a ruse! These are the game plans they have been fashioning out all these days they have been going to London together for "medical attention". Buhari is not afraid of naming hi s preferred successor. Buhari will always choose a northerner even if the person to save Nigeria is a southerner. They're just trying to make it look like the southerners failed to agree and that's why Southern presidency failed and the best place to create that narrative is in the convention ground. The Buhari I know, will rather start a war in this country than say, hand over to even his vee pee Osibanjo.

Like Asari Dokubo rightly said; "Buhari is not Jonathan that had AK 47 riffles with him but was chased away from the villa with 'Nama sticks'". General Buhari actively participated in atleast 3 military coups in this country before becoming a Head of State. What do I mean? Simple; This is a man who desperately craved for power with some objectives in mind. This man understands power and was willing to risk his life not once, not twice, to get power.

Such people don't respect any electoral process unless such process fits their whims and caprices. Buhari is not going to hand over to say Wike, irrespective of what the electoral umpire has to say. Remember Babangida and Abiola? So if any southerner starts to lay claims to the wins or losses that will ultimately happen during the presidential election, simply because he is frustrated with the lack of common ground amongst Southern politicians, that person is just being politically naive! If Buhari wants to hand over to a southerner, just like Obasanjo handed over to a northerner, Buhari can easily do so. But I don't think he ever wants to do so. He ultimately wants to hand over to a core northerner. He will likely succeed, just that Nigeria might not succeed the aftermath...

The way these northern governors are over dramatizing their socalled support for a southern president is suspicious. It all looks like they are playing games by always yelling and brandishing their much vaunted support for a "Southern president" in front of the television cameras, while they're busy clearing every obstacle for the sole northern candidate in the APC, Lawan. The more you look , the less you see. These governors are in bed with Buhari. If you seriously believe that the northern governors will seriously rise up against Buhari to fight for the interest of the South, after most of them openly derided the issue of "zoning", then you are living in a fools paradise.

If you compare Buhari with emporor Bokassa and Mobutu, he will still come out last! The man is unbelievable!

Ghana is going to face nothing similar to the nonsense here. This country has not been overrun by insurgents, this country is just unfortunate to have as a president, a man who places little premium on human lives and obviously has a soft spot for tribal fanatics from his ethnic group, who kill for fun. I don't see that happening in Ghana since Jerry Rawlings have done an incredible work of putting Ghanaians on a strong political footing, in terms of electing reasonably sensible humans as their leaders. Nigerias security agencies have the capabilities to eradicate the bloody activities of the Fulani herdsmen. What is lacking is the political will from the government to do so.
