WesternOligarch:When you have chosen a successor, you go out and do what you have to do in order to make sure he wins. That's simply the way it happens over here. Obasanjo made Yaradua his successor and there wasn't too much drama as we are seeing today because he was straightforward with that. Buhari controls the party. He nominated the party heads who will set the rule of electing the party flag bearer. When you start seeing this kind of drama, it's because the president has a dubious game plan up his sleeves. If he wanted to make an Easterner his successor, nothing that happened within The PDP will change that Dynamics. This is a Nigerian president not an American or French president. This president appointed The INEC Chief, the Judges at the Supreme Court and The Appeal Courts, the Police Commissioners in every state and the Army Commanders across the country! Most importantly, this president is not one Goodluck Jonathan. Buhari can NEVER be bullied over his successor. If he pretends like he is being bullied, then he is selling you a dummy and you're buying it. A man who put his life on the line more than three times in different military coups just to usurp power, can't be powerless in trying to fix his successor, while he is the incumbent. Doesn't make sense at all. |
Pierohandsome:We have the northern youths already "attacking" their northern governors for"pressuring" Buhari to hand over to the South. Then you're here saying it was Buhari that pressurized the northern governors to back him in support of a "southern president". Which is which? |
His deluge of wayward teeth won't allow us hear him out.. Tragic dental formular right there. Am I the only one who is always thinking that there's a genetical mutation going on with these folks in the far North? Not insulting anyone now.. I mean, don't forget that France tested the nuclear bomb in the open air in the Sahara, very close to the core North some decades back! Is the after effects oof the nuclear exposure not partly responsible for all these queer deseases and strange dental make up of the average core northerner? |
As the events leading to the presidential contests of the next one year slowly unfolds, remember to keep this in mind; President Buharis candidate for the next election is a northerner. There is nothing in the politics or body language of the president that suggests otherwise. The president has been unflinchingly pro North since he assumed power. Almost all appointments go to the North. Most projects go to the North. Most of his administrative set up are northerners and there has been a conscious move to recalibrate the economic base of the country, in a way that guarantees that both the political and economic lives of the country is dictated by northerners. The president went as far as telling different United Nations agencies and international organizations to concentrate their aids and other helpful activities in Nigeria in the northern part of the country! This very president makes no pretensions about where his loyalty lies. He wears it like a badge of honor. He defends it openly and he goes about the defense of his northern agenda with an uncanny ruthlessness that is uncommon. He has been like this since his emergence in the corridors of power and he has never shown any signs of changing. The only time president Buhari acts as if he rates the south is during campaigns when he badly needs the votes and the geographical spread to win. As the convention for the ruling party starts in few hours time and as the real move towards the next presidential elections begins, Buhari has refused to show any solid support to any southern politician. He started off trying to pretend like he is above the game and will only support the final product of the convention. But midway, he started talking of a preferred candidate when the trajectory of the political trend within his own party started moving towards a greater support for a southern president. He became so noisy about this socalled preferred candidate that it started to ruffle feathers! As the talk attracted criticisms from many quarters in the country, the president went for his real plan; a choreographed convention.. I think this was deliberate. Why do I think so? Right from the onset, many northern potential presidential candidates in The APC refused to join the race for the presidency. On the surface, this looks like a good omen as it suggests that the North believes that it is the turn of the south to govern the country. But this is not the reason. The northern politicians that I know have always contested every election in Nigeria, irrespective of the "zoning arrangements". Abubakar Rimi, Atiku Abubakar, Mohammadu Buhari, Sule Lamido, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Ribadu.., name them. They have always argued fervently against zoning and have come out gingerly every presidential election to contest. Again, it is strange and baffling that the presidents men kept encouraging almost all Southern political heavyweights in the APC to come out and contest. Why are they doing this? Did Obasanjo play such nasty game withthe North? No! So why is the pool of The APC presidential contestants so starved of northern politicians? The answer is simple. The North wants to continue ruling after Buhari but have realized that public opinion is overwhelmingly against this even in the North. They have realized that Buharis unhinged presidency has eroded the reasonable political support the core North used to enjoy from such places as the middle belt and the South South. They know that a northern presidency is a no no in the South East too. That means that it is only the South West that is left. The same South West believes that it is "their turn" to rule! Essentially, the core norths most trusted allies in the South are now the ones who are most probably going to be very wronged with the emergence of another northern president! It looks like finally, the political maradonas of the north have dribbled the region to a political cul de sac! So what is the way out? Make it look like the North is in support of a Southern president and then leave one Northerner in the presidential contest thereby ensuring that the northern votes in the convention can go in bloc to the real preferred candidate, while encouraging the numerous Southern candidates to cancel themselves off by giving them hope. The North will then use the media afterwards to blame the southern politicians for their "inability to reach a consensus that allowed one Ahmed Lawan to emerge". That looks like the game plan. The withdrawal of the Jigawa states governor from the APC presidential contest few hours ago, living the current Senate President as the only strong Northern Candidate and the utilization of the EFCC agents to checkmate any attempt on the part of a financially bouyant Wike to "usurp" power in PDP, should be pointers to discerning minds. The EFCC going into the PDP convention ground to thwart any attempt by Southern politicians to match Atiku dollar for dollar was the height of it! Do remember that Atiku Abubakar represented Buhari at the traditional wedding of his son few months ago! With these actions, we are about to face an electoral contest in which the dominant political parties will provide two northerners, all friends to the president as their candidates. This will be done with the governors of the north shouting and pointing to their diversionary press release that suggests their commitments to supporting a president of southern extraction. It is a ruse! It is part of the game plan! The north wants to retain power at all costs because the north is like a fish out of the water without power and they know this. If it gets too tough as it seems like since Tinubus outburst over their refusal to give him his presidency, the North might surrender The APC presidential candidacy to a southerner, then rig him out in favor of Atiku Abubakar in the general elections proper! Do not forget that a conscious attempt to dilute the rank file of the appeal courts and the supreme court has been going on for them last eight years. They will hear your litigations on any irregularities with the elections. All these northern politicians who are deliberately and auspiciously dramatizing their preference for a southern president are part of this plan and are just playing their part of the script. This includes these avalanche of northern 'ex this and ex that', that follows Southern presidential candidates around as campaign helps. Spies.. Lalasticlala

Taqiya support. The more you look the less you see. They know that an open support for a Northern Presidential candidate will backfire, so they will make it look like they supported the south but the South refused to agree on a common candidate.. Typical northern hide an seek politics |
You know the deal. The very moment The EFCC agents started entering the convention ground to arrest those disbursing cash to challenge Atiku, it was obvious that Buhari had a dog in that game. Buhari will never hand over power to a southerner! NEVER! He will rather set Nigeria on fire than do that. Not the same Buhari that has been quoted severally as saying that Nigeria was a British gift to the Fulani? He's talking of a Southern candidate because over the last few hours, they have come to realize that the country and his party may go up in flames if he openly insists on another northerner. |
alsudan:He knows what he is doing. He wants to pretend like he is supporting the South but he is actually rooting for a northerner. |

Upworkwriter007:I don't know who likes Atiku or not, but I know it was tinupoo who took it upon himself to dramatize his support for Buhari. He is tilll on with that, even in the last few days. Atiku on the other hand, for whatsoever it's worth, is going around criticizing Buhari. While Tinupoo is going around licking buharis behind. Tinupoo is proud of his contribution in making Buhari the president. Let him also share in the ignominy that comes with the disaster called buharis presidency. |
Upworkwriter007:He inflicted Buhari on us for two terms! If that is not enough sacrilege to you, then you have to wriggle out from under the stone where you have been living this past decade! That's is a decade of our lives wasted! How many people killed by fulani herdsmen? How many herdsmen were arrested or charged or sentenced for these? Zero! Did your man Friday Tinupoo condemn this? No! The economy nko? In tatters... Millions of lives being toyed with, because somehow Tinubu believes he must rule Nigeria! "It is my turn"! "It's Yorubas turn"! That's why he recruited a toxic teibalist to come and ransack the whole country. And you are confused why he is hated? He deserves more hate than he gets .. |
Safyqueen:I lived in Kano for almost 3 years, the far north is not as populated as they claim! Get a grip!! They have the landmass , no argument about that. But the numbers? No! If you travel from Abuja to Kaduna and from Kaduna to Zaria, then from Zaria to Kano, you hardly see any serious settlements of people. You only meet huge populations in the cities and towns. That's not the case for instance in the East. There is no place in Anambra and Imo State, where you will travel for a pole without seeing a building. Go and do your check. Way before independence, independent researchers designated the South East as one of the most densely populated areas in Africa. The north is sparsely populated and this idea of the north having huge numbers started around the decolonization period, when Britain was desperate to hand over to local lackeys. You guys always like to swallow northern propaganda line hook and sinker. Unconsciously, you have been programmed to propagate all their nonsenses. You talk of how they make babies every second, do you know how many of those babies even survive the first 5 years because of the torrid unfriendly environment of the Sahara surroundings?? The northern part of Nigeria has some of the highest infant mortality rate in the world! Some of the highest illiteracy rates in the world! Yet, they still top in nigeria!! This your warped analogy is the reason why Kano municipality is having almost the same amount of local governments with the whole of Bayelsa state?? Ahbegii, make I hear word.. |
Even though the north controls politics at the center today, you won't see a typical northern politician go out of his way to taunt the South East as the South westerners will always do without any serious provocation. Take away Buhari, most northerners will do their thing and go their way. Even Buhari visited most of the east during his campaigns. But Yoruba politicians? No way! They will rub it in. Even their traditional rulers have joined too. From Abiola to Tinubu, to Tinubus wife, to the Oba of Lagos, to the former governor of Oyo and Ogun State to Obasanjos former ministers, it's one outburst against the South East after the other. Infact, during his numerous meetings with his northern collaborators, Tinubu was quoted not once to have assured that he doesn't need the the south east. He never denied this and he never visited the SE to prove that. His foot soldiers made the derision of the south east candidates an important part of their evil campaign for power. At a point, you start to wonder whether Tinubu was campaigning to be president or to torpedo the socalled Igbo presidency! This goes a long way to prove that the East and the West share absolutely nothing in common politically and should pursue different political future post Buhari. |
He is obviously intoxicated with village arrogance but the reason for this kind of outburst is obvious. The south east needs to do more to end the high level of political subjugation being inflicted on the South East by federal Nigeria! This is what South East political leaders should have been fighting against for years but they pretended like this is nothing. A military officer organizes a coup, and as the president appointes his kinsman the chairman of the census board. The socalled census chairman will then conduct a thoroughly corrupt census count in which he will ascribe all sorts of cooked figures to the north while lowering the numbers from the East. They will then use this fake figures to create endless numbers of states and local governments in the North, all these while making sure the east has fewer numbers of both states and local governments. With these fake states and local governments, the north will be getting more allocations from Abuja, more than the eastern states that produce the resources and with their endless local governments, they will have more funds to take care of their rural communities while the east is seriously starved of funds. These fake States and local governments created based on nepotism and tribalism, helps the North to produce more governors, more local government executives, more senators and ofcourse more House of Representatives members. It also means that the North produces more ministers, more ambassadors and more personnels in different government agencies, since most of such appointments and recruitments are made, based on federal character, in which each state presents their candidates. With the east having fewer representatives in all these, they are shortchanged both in appointments, revenue allocations, employments and party/political representations. This is why Igbo presidential candidates can't win unless basically nominated by others. Easterners who join the argument that more states are not needed in the east, should look at what is happening with the conventions and the net effects on eastern candidates. As long as political office holders are going to make the bulk of the delegates, the east will always come last. That's because the delegates represent states and the east has fewer states based on the actions of northern and South western military officers while in power.. |
Oplomo:Happy that most Nigerians are now starting to see this. They cry and blame everyone else but themselves over Awolowo and his electoral shortcomings, they moan over Abiolas electoral misfortune and murder, they shout and call for actions when herdsmen terrorize them and their communities.. BUT once other people from other regions react similarly to the same situations, they get offended and start arguing in support of the oppressors... It's unbelievable.. I don't know how they do it. It seems they only see and feel Evil when it's visited on them. In their warped thinking, the world revolves around them. The tragedy of a wayward culture. |
jmoore:Dey there dey moan about IPOB. Herdsmen will soon grab your skull while you are busy taunting IPOB. |
Have you noticed that Hushcobar Tinupoos retinue of internet hirelings and tribal online hoodlums, have gone underground over the last 48 hours? As The PooPoocrat in Chiefs fledging campaign starts to unravel, this platoon of political turncoats are jumping ship! Very rascally clan of inebriated urchins! They have to be monitored closely, because they will all pretend like they're genuinely against the system and start criticizing Buhari left and right from next week. These are fake patriots that wanted to hand the country over to a certified crook! They should be forced to stay and "stand on top of Tinupoos manhood" as they swore to do all along. Bunch of vermins.. |
Nothing shifted! Just that he got more northern states to rig the elections for him. You guys should stop pretending like you have ever had any quality elections in Nigeria. You seldom have.. The north registers everything from one month old children to donkeys and they all vote! That's what always happened there and it will happen again and you will be here talking of it as if you're analyzing American elections.. Get your PVCs and all that.. I guess these ones are getting their PVCs too..

MT:Seriously, when you compare military spendings through officially budgeted funds, you will never get the true extent of Chinese military investments in hardware developments and training of men. The Chinese military has scores of businesses in China, whose income are not necessarily registered in the yearly budget and they do this intentionally to confuse their adversaries. If you Google this, you will be surprised with your findings. Do you know that the Chinese military owns most of the Chinese telecommunications companies? They have arrays of businesses all over China. If you take into cognizance, the massive developments that have been witnessed within the Chinese military in recent years, you will appreciate this fact. The West has always made mention of this and has always prepared their response to any imaginable Chinese aggression based on this. That said, my argument is not that The Chinese military is better or bigger nor more sophisticated than that of the western world. I didn't say that. What I said and what I'm very sure of, is that the Chinese military has advanced quite rapidly, especially in recent times, in such areas as their asymmetrical warfare capabilities. While they may not posses all the recent weapons paraded by the West, they have all it takes to inflict maximum harm on any adversary on planet earth today, especially when so close to home.. I also believe they can quite easily pulverize the fledging Taiwanese army and can cause serious disruptions to any sort of Americans military intervention in Taiwan. They have those capabilities, even if we all know that a war between them and the Americans will never happen, since they both are nuclear powers.. |
Golan007:This chronic UNITY BEGGAR again? Man afraid of living alone.. |
MT:China has got what it takes to take over Taiwan in a week! You know absolutely nothing about the militaries of these countries. China has the men, the equipment, the technology and the funding! Moreover, China has the general support of her citizens to do this. It's also very important for you to understand that The Americans have very limited military abilities in Taiwan. Yes, they sell some sophisticated weapons to the Taiwanese, but over the last few years , as a very powerful China emerges, the Americans have systematically toned down the volume of their military sales and support Taiwan! They don't even like placing serious military hardwares in Taiwan in recent times.. The reasons for this are obvious; China has made herself a very lucrative partner to the Western world economically. America and the west have made more money from china than they will ever make from Taiwan. China is almost a 2 billion population market! What is Taiwans? China has long range intercontinental ballistic missiles, China has shot down settilites from the orbit! Hope you know what that means in case of a war with a fellow super power? China has an international space station. China has anti plane carrier missiles! China has....., Man! Don't let me start.. China won't invade Taiwan but that's because of economic reasons, not necessarily because of military reasons. You guys used to say the same thing about Hong Kong but today who calls the shots there? Beijing! |
Golan007:Taiwan is different from Biafra. Taiwan is already developing as a different political entity from China. Taiwan is like the Western worlds bulwark against a surging China in the region. Taiwan has lots of very important tech factories necessary to the Western worlds military establishments. Taiwan is totally a democratic state with much more western values when compared to mainland China... Etc.. The scenerios are different even if the anti Biafra bug in your disoriented brain refuses to allow you understand this.. |
MT:What sort of military capabilities? The sort that China doesn't possess? Do you understand the intimidating credentials of The Great PLA? You don't! Apart from economic sanctions like the sort unleashed on Russia after the invasion of Ukraine, The Americans can't do anything that The Chinese can't handle.. Some countries have passed the stage where Americas military propaganda rattles them anymore.. |
Fear Fear USA.. The same people that gave independence to Kosovo and tried balkanizing Iraq and Syria!? The fear of the behemoth called China is the beginning of wisdom. |

He might be right you know? There is that tiny possiblity that the woman died of cancer because I wouldn't know how he thought he will kill such a popular figure and get away with it.. It needs to be investigated. Maybe they do normally fight but was that he real reason for her death? |
The whole place is quiet here. Obviously these earthshaking revelations didn't fit the needed narrative. We have always known the truth, and we have always known that The truth will always prevail. Pity the noisy bunch of hyper patriotic One Nigeria igbos , who in their desperation to dramatize thier loyalty to this infamous Lugardian contraption, provided the evil support that has been used by security agents to decimate the youths of Igboland, in the name of fighting a fulani invented insurgency in the east. A platoon of "otolectuals", they are.. |
