You see your line in bold? That’s what earning potential means.
Don’t think earning potential is limited to only “salary” earnings. Another word for earning is income.

Now go back and read my previous comment.
Ok thought we were still on how great the job's are in the west and how big our savings r grin

I didn't know say you sabi.

Keep winning bro

You absolutely right but without the neccassry degree or certifications your experience will probably be uselsess.

And you can't always lie on your CV to secure professional job here...

We have what we call background checks...

If you caught, your data will be shared across the country HR System.... You then know what it means...
All you need is the right sector..

Things are happening.. if u dey that click u go understand.

Recently it's been difficult because of some new legislation.

As for the arresting part, they'll need to arrest 60 percent of the population because everyone wey sabi don take advantage.

It's what it is , how you go ask me for 6 experience on something wey them just introduce 4 year's ago. cheesy

Bro, one’s saving potential is a matter of various factors including earning potential, spending habit, dependents etc.

However, there’s a proverb that says “as elephant head dey heavy am, na so ant own Dey heavy am.”
This might twist your mind a bit.. read it carefully
Earning potential abroad limits your savings potential.

One guy cracked it here on nairaland recently, 9 to 5 peeps r losers in the west, you will be comfortable that's all but even that comfort comes at a steep price, long hours of work , stress etc.

The business peeps , contractor's are the one's killing it because of tax loopholes.

Make i no talk everything here grin

Nurses are horribly paid, tailor, hairdressers, mechanics in Ireland? Laughs.
Hairdressers and Mechanics making you laugh? Then you have never step your feet outside Nigeria

Software yes, but just in Dublin.
Like really? grin grin grin grin
Bro, you know nothing
Galway, Dundalk, and Lim are full of SW jobs
Paypal, Master card, FB are all located outside Dublin

All in abroad is hard, let's stop pretending.

How much do you save monthly, tell the truth?
Why will I tell you?
Not that you can't be a mechanic , tailor.. the competition is deadly because you have indigenous mechanics , Eastern Europeans dominating that sector. Infact my russian friend is a mechanic, he's doing ok but nothing special.

Name the software companies? Those little office's with 25 staff yes grin

Dublin is where the software jobs r , yeah very little elsewhere.

Ha ok, God will not shame any of us. We can all be winner's.

For me i have gone past the stage of saving, it's my investments putting money back into my pocket.

I'm just keeping it real, it's not easy abroad at all at all, especially when starting out.

The only way to make sense of our convo is to declare how much we save monthly after expenses doesn't have to be detailed, that way we demonstrate credibility.

OP, you don’t know what you’re saying.

I guess you’re only consoling yourself after several US visa denials.

There’s what’s called quality of life. This, you can’t get in Nigeria with your 100k.

By the way, I’m sure you’ve not been to the US, Canada or any European country because if you have and you breather their fresh air, you’d know that the air in Nigeria is capable of killing you.

Well, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala is a professional economist. She must know the economical value of working and living abroad. Else, she wouldn’t have aspired to become the WTO Director to resume at Geneva Switzerland.

Abi you think say her monthly tax no go pass your annual untaxed 100k salary?

No deceive yourself.
How much do you save monthly , that's what I need to know.

The long grammar doesn't confirm anything.

When you get here you will realize nigerians are cruising....

You over work just to pay bills and stay financially fit here...

That's the only way
Degrees are nothing in abroad, experience is what you need.

Nigerians balling abroad are not the one's with degrees, they're the ones who know how to game the system.

Lieing on your CV will get u a professional job faster than actual degrees.

Abroad gives all the opportunity you need
My GP went back to school at the age of 40 to study medicine, now he is 51 and a medical doctor
I know over 10 Nigerians here in Ireland that has never studied before in Nigeria but got here and now working as a professional nurse, GP, Hairdressers, Mechanics, House building, and Software developer because of the opportunity here given them.
If you want to enjoy yourself abroad then be a professional.
Tailors get paid per hr as a professional

Absolutely...the key is don't be lazy if possible take the second job to cover your savings...

Because a $100 per day income in a month will not give u a reasonable savings fter deducting your bills
By the time u reach 40 doing two jobs, u go don dey haggard, ontop you can't still save 2k a month .

1k per month in savings will take over four years to gather 50k. Ordinary 50k oh.

Abroad hard no be small. Forget the sane climes nonesense people talk about.

Culture of quick wealth, parents littering the country with low quality humans, general cultural decadence and lack of pro activeness on the government's part to ensure it's citizens are of high quality with high iq is the reason for these problems.

I'll start off solving this by finger printing every mofo in the country.

Hold parents accountable.

Make scapegoats out of people who display and flaunt questionable wealth.

Prevent additional cultural decadence which promotes other vice's by instilling ethical thinking in the curriculum/ work place.

Lead by example.

I am saying there whites who are older and they still behave like kids.they don't want to work but they still keep on collecting money from their parents to weed and party all day.i am not talking of 20 something yr olds but 30 and 40 something yr olds who also behave like kids.and as for mixing most ppl prefer hanging out with their own age group that one is natural.anyway for any nigerian complaining about not being able to make friends in a foreign land then he or she should try and make contacts with fellow nigerians living where he or she residing
There lots and lots of nigerians living in the US
Same In canada
Also In the uk
There are other african groups, carribeans etc.if u can't hang out with any member from this group then the person has an issue and he should look more inwards.
The convo is shifting again lol.

True, but they know they're old and won't mingle with the younger crowd.

The young run all the exciting stuff & you can't mingle because you might be seen as pervy.

The older crowd already have their in groups, hard to break into.

Focus on the age element , the racial part is more like cultural.

So because two or three people cannot do something that means it isn't doable? Fine accept their opinion as the gospel truth.
You have refused to grasp the depth of the argument.

Your points about self confidence is correct and will help a lot anywhere.

The argument is really about how insular European's are in general, it doesn't mean you won't get the odd white punna or some temp freindships, but if you stay long enough and look back, you'll discover no solid relationship's were built.

It's what it is.. Europeans also mature quickly, after their second year in college, they get serious about their life choices, unlike Nigeria where over 30s still behave and party like kids.

The routine ..once you get passed a certain (max 18-20) age, ... work, then outings on Friday, sat.. that's even if you're social.. now add extra responsibilities and you'll almost prefer to stay indoors.

You can craft the life you want but the west is just a closed in society and you'll have to live within those limits.

There would always be hotel bars and restaurants that are not only for lodgers, there would always be the ones that open to anybody that is well dressed and wishes to have a drink or meal. People look for ways to socialise (even in winter like visiting ice rinks) and make it work, people buy courses to speak with a neutral British accent or General American accent and make it work. They do so many things just to be able to socialise and deal with loneliness... rather than complain and insult anyone that makes suggestions.

So sure, yes for you, the verdict is you would NEVER be able to socialize with people in your environment abroad. However, don't make the generalisation that it can be done if you are black (or African).

Because you have failed to do something doesn't mean it cannot be done! Just because I can't run a 100 metres race under 11 seconds, does that mean that someone of the same age as me cannot do it?

And if offering Nigerians suggestions on how to deal with loneliness and socialize with their neighbours in a foreign land makes me an ITK, I wear it proudly. Some people are likely reading what I am writing and might decide to take the bull by the horn and do something instead of complaining and saying it is hopeless... "white people don't want to be my friend"
Oga u stubborn sha, but extremely clueless.

All the people wey dey abroad don tell their truth, u wey no dey get d biggest opinion.
