Nigerians, una can worry..simply because faan's site is down doesn't indicate anything.it cud happen 2 any site(technical hitches).maybe when they employ people like us,we can revamp their network discrepancies.as 4 d delay in 'APL',it doesn't signify cancellation, these things take time.the time range from interview 2 apl is btw 1mth-1yr.its not even up to 1mth.so relax guys.

A question from a friend........What is the faith of an applicant who did the cbt (passed), pft (passed), and interview (Passed). But in the course of the final stage (accreditation), she was told that the text (call-up sms for pft and interview) she received from FAAN was CLONED!. Thus, she was bursted out of the academy!.............IS THERE HOPE FOR HER?
Accreditation takes place b4 interview..

First, congratulations to those who've made it thus far. It is my sincere wish that u'r all drafted in.

I must also express "my own" opinions about this recruitment exercise, and without mincing words too. I hope my opinion will be respected as completely mine.

So FAAN stated on their website that the "pass mamark" to qualify for the next phase of d process was 50%. They shot themselves in d foot by making this declaration. I may be wrong but most if not all credible recruitment exercises never state what their pass mark will be from d outset. They know that dez things r performance based and as such wait till all results come in before making their analysis and fixing cutoff marks. Reneging on their words and not selecting everyone that had 50% and above in d first place was everything but fair imho. It is rather deceptive and I will not applaud em for that.

Second, I do not know of any "ideal" society where credence isn't given to merit but to federal character or quota systems (whatever it is termed). This is one system that has become a bane to our development as a nation. People r denied appointments and roles because they aren't from a particular region, state or geopolitical zone but are very qualified and capable of delivering results on d jobs while someone else who isn't gets d job. We can't keep doing things d old way and expect new or different results. It's quute laughable that many were not selected not because they failed but because the slots for their states r already filled. Fairness and transparence in my books is when everyone who meets d stipulated criteria is given the chance to compete for the role they applied for without recourse to their states of origin.

That said, I was thinking that d first online test wud be to prune down d number of applicants and then that a second test be conducted in a controlled and closely monitored environment. I was wrong! I do not see any "fairness" or "transparence" in a test where some people were helped by their "communities" in achieving very high scores while those that didn't do such and didn't score as high were not shortlisted for the next phase (even after scoring above 50%). That is not to take anything from those who genuinely sat for the test unaided and got very high marks as well. They are the true heroes and I respect them.

If we all will be honest with ourselves and not just speak because we were or weren't shortlisted, then we will all agree that there wasn't a level playing field for everyone. What this recruitment exercise has achieved is dat it's encouraged "cheating" to be lauded or accepted as success (for those who were aided and scored very high marks) and vilified those who worked hard but didn't score so high. Fate, some would call it. Tough luck others might say. But truth remains what it is.

Knowing the present unpalatable state of employment in this country (unemployment or underemployment), I would not blame those who did what they had to do to score very high. Survival of the smartest maybe! For this reason I sincerely wish them all the very best of luck. I pray u all get d jobs. And please do not forget ur friends who didn't make it when u do get it. God bless us all.

P.S this is entirely my opinion and as such shd be respected. Criticisms r welcomed of course, but please it shd be devoid of tantrums/insults/vitriol.
Bro,ur write up is brilliant and pristine bt let me change ur perception,am not here 2 chastise u.1st d pass mark was pegged at 50 probably faan didn't envisage dat most applicants would pass excellently well.that's what u get when u set o'level questions 4 B.sc people, cos most of us r used 2 dragnet standard.what do u do when people score above 80?2ndly d quota system has 2 be used cos Nigeria is a multi-ethnic country and d job in question is a federal one,so every state has 2 be evenly represented.a company like KPMG doesn't care abt ethnicity,if all successful candidates r 4m kebbi state, they dnt ve a problem with dat.As 4 "community effort" dat 1 is a personal issue cos some multinationals like Guinness use 'write at home' system and dey dnt do verification test.the only flaw I see in d process is network issues, and I told them when the woman asked me 'y shd we employ u and what skills do u possess?' I simply told her that its glaring faan has network lacuna and that's where I come in,dat with my CCNP and proficiency in SDH links,I can revamp their entire network system.(I nor talk d last statement ooooo make dem nor pursue me) but u get my point.

U ve raised a salient point, that's d more reason u shd pray he wins 2 ensure continuity cos if there's a change in STP,I believe we can all kiss our faan job goodbye cos dat dude has a penchant 4 revoking projects,he did it to metroline.

If Enugu center did u bad, then perhaps u got a scam msg truely for the interview and it is not FAAN's fault. i had my process in enugu on the 11th of march, and i can say that the process was smooth and credible becos every body dat came there initially had thier names shortlisted and the crowd was not much and nobody was embarrased.
we were told that only those successfull with the pft would be contacted for interview. i got the interview invite and the next day all those that didnt get text were maybe not interviewed cos i left as soon as i finished mine while those that didnt get text msges were still trying to find a way around..
And it was understandable.
iT was during the massive turn out that problems started. and if u read faans website they said if u have been shortlisted and havent gone for interview, do so at the closest venue to u.
They later even allowed those that were not shortlisted to undergo the process as long as they scored above 70.(as i heard)
That move is justifiable if u read from thier site on how they select.
So just like every process, every body cant be satisfied. i Failed the first home test for the Nigerian Brewery sales executive role, a job i have always longed for and even prefere to FAAN, but i put the blame on myself cos pple passed, and the successful ones wrote another exam in lagos and some passed and some failed, the driving test eliminated some pple, so did the interview and now they are doing medicals(which might still eliminate some pple).
This one(FAAN) i havent gotten but atleast i have successfully reached an extent. i move on when one door closes.
No matter what, FAAN cant employ every body that applied.
The little flaws of the process are fate's way of eliminating and getting the final few just like natural disasters and death, and sickness etc. are nature's way of taking away one generation while the following takes over ( wether we like it or not).
Let us learn to move on as vacancies will keep arising and arising and lets stick to the small or other job we got doin till somtin better comes.
along.

I pray I get this job, having come this far.
I know no body in FAAN or other higher places but i believe in the attempt at sincerity of the process.
However, I am also prepared for the worst.
Thanks house.
Wish us all well in our endevours.
I could not agree more.I admire ur realistic and veracious approach to the subject matter.

FAAN Recruitment 2015 - My tales of woe Part 1

Got the highest insult of my life yesterday at the Enugu center, Federal Road Safety Command, Udi, where I was scheduled for interview with Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.

I got a text on 17th March, 2014 inviting me over and I swiftly honored the invitation. On my arrival at the Enugu center, numbers were assigned to us according to our order of arrival. But afterwards, the FRSC men started their own private selection by introducing their loved ones who had no numbers, thereby distorting the number system earlier implemented. But that did not upset me until when my group was supposed to go for the screening process. Time check was past 5pm and all of a sudden a list came out from nowhere and candidates were invited in batches to check the list. There were people who couldn't find there names despite their high score, others who did find theirs but scored lower than 70% were asked to leave the compound. This became more frustrating having witnessed tons of candidates who didn't pass too comfortably but who had been screened earlier that same yesterday. Well, having come that far, nobody was willing to leave. We decided to hang around to see how it all plays out.

Later on, the FRSC officers devised strategies and forcefully pushed us out of the compound. I was the first casualty of this unfair treatment as FRSC officials treated me like a complete tout. After a little protest, I acted the gentleman and quietly left the compound. I was outside when I saw others who had been physically harassed, and a few others taken to their cell, by FRSC officers probably acting on their own authority, doing what the interview coordinators never instructed them to do.

Sadly, the FRSC Commander, Mrs Emeordi gladly watched events unfold as her officers physically harassed innocent candidates. Men and women were thrown out of the compound like criminals. Remember it was the FRSC officers doing all this. Never did we hear from the main coordinators or officials of FAAN. We didn't even see any of them with our eyes.

I didn't want to spend another night at Enugu so I had to risk my life again and travelled back to Owerri that same night. I got to my house by past 10pm. Many were and are still stranded.

There so many questions to be asked here.

1. Is the FRSC now an extension of FAAN? Is the Minister using his powers as an ex-marshall to impose FRSC men on FAAN recruitment process? At present I'm confused which organization we actually intend to work for. Please he should be asked what road business has got to do with Aviation.

2. The pass mark for the test was clearly stated as 50% how come the FRSC officers ordered candidates who scored less than 70% to leave.

In summary, this recruitment process has been anything but transparent, its indeed the worst of its kind in recent time. It has been marred by so many pitfalls and doesn't show any form of transparency from the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan led administration. I just can't believe that in 2015 Nigerian graduates were thrown out of a recruitment exercise without regard by uniformed FRSC officers.

It's very disheartening for FRSC 2 treat graduates(some of us ve M.sc) in this manner.I feel ur pain.when I did my interview in enugu last week, officials of faan and frsc were so courteous and receptive 2 applicants.even d frsc commandant(mrs)actually gave me a bottle of table water when I told her I was dehydrated..don't knw how it deteriorated 2 this..its inimical 2 physically harass an applicant slated 4 interview..

It is well bro. Forget grade and while waiting you can add skills and think of service(s) you can offer that can get you something to pursue your PhD, dnt give up.
Bro, u said u ve an M.Sc but u r not being realistic..ur score is too low..most of d guys invited had an average of 72 esp the southern states..2ndly ur level of reasoning is parochial..u said something abt 1.1,2.1 competing with 2.2...how u take dey reason 2.2 sef?I don't knw ur school but come 2 uniben and study mechanical or civil engr..u'll appreciate 2.2 or even english lang..studies has shown dat most 2.2 excel better than 2.1 if given equal opportunities..nigeria has gone beyond 2.1 2.2 disparity..what r ur skills and what can u offer..I read engineering bt dat is not d issue..I ve A+,N+,S+,CCNA,CCNP and aspiring 4 CCIE and huawei training..u think a plain 1.1 can stand me?pls don't discredit 2.2.

Pls am tired of nigeria, FAAN recruitment is politics, i scored 65% in the online aptitude test and I graduated with 2.1, yet I was not shortlisted for the interview.
Guy its not by 2.1..do u knw how many people dat made a 2.2 and scored over 80?engineers with ccna/ccnp...d pass rate was tremendous so faan raised dat cut-off mark.q.e.d
