The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday debunked report that himself, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former interim National Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande, were struggling to emerge the chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT). He spoke with State House correspondents after visiting President Muhammadu Buhari along with Akande at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. According to him, no such rivalry exists in the party and that the party is focused on supporting President Buhari achieve his goal of transforming the nation. He said: “Don’t listen to rumors, there is no struggle. Our party is not even looking at the direction of power struggle or anything of such. “The support structure is to encourage and support the President as you have heard from Chief Bisi Akande, to help him institutionalize his goal, principle and vision for a new Nigeria.” On those complaining about delay in the release of the ministerial list, he said: “There is pitfall in rushing, quick fix, depending upon the depth of the rot. And that rush can cascade into mistakes of unimaginable magnitude. There is equally glory and recovery in slowness, when you have a slow fix of a bad foundation. “So to me, I would rather take the one that will last the country and endure for a longer period of time than the rush hour shopping.” He also disagreed with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) claim that President Buhari was dictatorial. He said: “I disagree with that. He was elected on a platform of democracy, he has adhered to rule of law so far. What is dictatorship about what he has done? He has helped to stimulate the economy in the various states and that is where the people are. So what is dictatorship? “And the institutional paralysis had occurred in the country. It is very important for a steady man like the President to really help the nation recover from the paralysis and that is what he is doing. So I don’t see what is dictatorial about that.” He also asked the PDP to keep silent if it has nothing meaningful to say. “If they don’t have anything to say, they rather be quiet. They created what is wrong here today and we can’t sweep that under the carpet. There must be rule of law,” he added. |

Erstwhile Commander of the 301 Artillery Regiment (General Support) Gombe, General Abraham Dusu, has been appointed the Commander, 33 Artillery Brigade, Shadawanka Military Cantonment, Bauchi. File photo: Troops in war zone In a statement by the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations of the Brigade, Captain Jonah Danjuma, it said the new Commandant took over from Brigadier General James Myam who was redeployed to the Defence Headquarters Abuja. According to the statement, Dusu, has since assume command of the Brigade after the handing over ceremony held at the Shadawanka Military Cantonment in Bauchi. The statement described the new Commandant as a very seasoned Military Officer who held many commands and administrative appointments. General Dusu, while a Lieutenant Colonel, was one of the survivors of a September 17, 2006 Dornier 228 plane crash, in which 13 military officers lost their lives. Dusu and then Lt. Co. N.E. Angbazo, who survived the deadly crash, were at that time flown abroad for further medical treatment, via a chartered air ambulance aircraft from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. They had earlier been receiving treatment at National Hospital, Abuja. Also recall that former President Olusegun Obasanjo, had at that time, constituted a six-man panel to probe the crash. Meanwhile, General Angbazo is now Nigeria’s Defence Adviser to Chad. Source:http://linkis.com/www.vanguardngr.com/kX5Wq |

Dr. Idris Ahmed wrote the following; BUHARI'S ANTI-CORRUPTION FEVER HITS GHANA! His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari is on official visit to Ghana today. Even though our President is there to mind his business, he has unintentionally caused unexpected discomfort to his host, President John Dramani Mahama. On the arrival of his Excellency in Accra, suddenly Ghanaians are asking their president and his VP to declare their assets publicly! This little incidence in Ghana today proves what we have always believed in; that once Nigeria is fixed, the whole of the African continent will be fixed! The positive changes in Nigeria will automatically become contagious and will spread throughout the African continent like wild fire. You don't have to be a Cryptologist, a Brain Surgeon or a Rocket Scientist to figure out that this is the main reason why the enemies of Africa have been working relentlessly from behind the scenes to wreck Nigeria. This time, God willing, they shall never succeed. It is our time for African Renaissance! May God save Nigeria and Nigerians. Amen. Dr. Idris Ahmed. CUPS. 7/9/2015. |

No Case Of Pipeline Vandalism Since PMB Took Over – Power Ministry The Ministry of Power said yesterday that since President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office three months ago, no single case of gas pipeline vandalism had been recorded. The permanent secretary in the ministry, Mr. Godknows Igali, who gave the hint while addressing journalists at the presidential villa, Abuja, faulted the claim that power supply improved because of the rainy season. He revealed that the hydro power stations in Kainji and Shiroro only contributed about 20 per cent of the entire electricity generated in Nigerian, adding that there are no substantial power additions coming from them. Igali noted that the vandalisation of gas pipelines was recurrent in the last days and months of the previous administration, and reached its peak on May 26 when gas-generated electricity was completely grounded. He added that things, however, started improving since the Buhari administration redoubled efforts in reaching out to communities where the pipelines are laid, to allow peace to reign. This, he said, has led to increased gas supplies and improved power supply nationwide, which currently stands at 4,600 megawatts. Igali explained that apart from President Buhari building on the efforts of past government and tasking stakeholders to increase their efforts, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo had been holding meetings almost on daily basis with power distribution companies (DISCOs) to fashion out new ways of improving power supply in the country. “It is no miracle, but a lot of work is being directed by the president and vice president. People are working in a more concerted manner to achieve the prevailing results,” the perm sec noted, adding that with these sustained efforts, more gas had been passing through the pipelines without obstruction. I believe most of the people agitating and criticising President Muhammadu Buhari's perceived delay in appointing Ministers among other issues never believed in him or at least didn't vote for him. I believe in Nigeria and Nigerians and we certainly have an appointment with success (in the Fullness of time). One fascinating and amazing thing about Nigerians is our ability to extract Humour out of every tough and tight situation we find ourselves. Some of those hilarious extracts include 'Diariz god' @ the peak of BBOG, 'Oga @ the top' @ the climax of Cyber crime, the act of come back of Jega by Jega @ the tensed 2015 collation of election results. Of recent, the young and vibrant Media aid of PMB, Femi Adesina released 'the wailing wailers' and our darling 'Fullness of Time'. Following the hash tag, I came across a post on twitter depicting a clock to measure the Fullness. God Guide PMB Long live FRN. Cc: Barcanista.
