PORT HARCOURT—A foiled attempt to allegedly assassinate a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, Mr. Chikordi Dike, has claimed the life of a police escort attached to him. It was gathered that armed men had allegedly attempted to kill Mr. Dike who is a onetime Caretaker Committee Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state. It was also gathered that the suspected assassins attacked their victims around Polo Club in GRA phase 2 and engaged the only policeman attached to Dike in a exchange of gunfire. A senior police officer who related the incident to Vanguard disclosed the name of the late police officer as Corporal Yakubu. The officer said Mr. Yakubu was gunned down around 11pm, Tuesday night, after he was over powered by the suspected assassins while he was trying to protect his boss. At press time the Rivers State Police Command is yet to give an official statement on the development. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/12/gunmen-attack-apc-chieftain-kill-police-escort-in-rivers/ |

Also, the group has signalled intent to drag the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and the IGP to the International Criminal Court (ICC) on charges of crimes against humanity. IPOB, in an application filed on behalf of deceased and injured members by the Kingdom Human Rights Foundation in a suite no: FHC/ABJ/CS/1035/2015 is demanding N8.5 billion as damages over the alleged killing and maiming of pro-Biafra protesters. Why even reply the man? His name is Lie Muhammed... I'm not taking him serious anymore. He's still acting like APC Publicity Secretary rather than Nigeria's Information Minister. |
BeClever:Hehehe Nice response my brother. I don't have enough energy to exhaust what I have in mind for him. |
oduastates:Hmm... I see. My dear please repent and give your life to Christ before it's too late. |
Nigerians already know the truth. Mr Reno there's no need for all these explanations. The Honorable Minister's name is Lie. |
These people will not cease to amaze and amuse me. The same propaganda they used against PDP is what they're asking journalists not to use against them. Karma is a b*tch.. ![]() |
MINISTER of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has solicited the support of the nation’s media for the war against terrorism, saying when Ni geria is at war, they cannot afford to be neutral. “Gentlemen, in this time of war, you cannot afford to be neutral. Yes, you must remain professional at all times, and we are not asking you to do anything less, but you must also act in the national interest, always,’’ the minister said at an interactive meeting with newspaper editors in Lagos yesterday. “Acting in the national interest means not playing up reports of cowardly Boko Haram attacks on soft targets. Acting in the national interest means not regurgitating the propaganda of Boko Haram and its fellow terrorist group, ISIS. “Acting in the national interest means extolling the bravery and sacrifice of our gallant troops. Acting in the national interest means not viewing the war from a partisan prism. “Acting in the national interest means rallying all Ni gerians, irrespective of their political, religious or ethnic background, to support the war,’’ he said. The minister told editors that the military had largely met the December 31 deadline to defeat Boko Haram, saying what he saw during his recent trip to the theatre of war in Borno State and the briefings he received from the military top brass convinced him of the successes recorded by the military. “They (military) have so degraded the capability of Boko Haram that the terrorists, can no longer carry out any spectacular attacks. Remember, gentlemen, that at the height of the war, Boko Haram controlled 20 of the 27 local governments in Borno. “I can hear you saying to yourself: But the terrorists are still carrying out suicide bombings and killings. “Gentlemen, we need peace before we can even practise our professions. We need peace before we can meaningfully revive our economy. “We need peace for our democracy to thrive. Boko Haram is the very antithesis of peace. Boko Haram must be wiped out not just through military might but with the support and efforts of all of us,’’ http://sunnewsonline.com/new/you-cant-be-neutral-when-nigeria-is-at-war-minister-tells-editors/

tolugar:That's Obama's speech ![]() Meanwhile if you can, why not dissect it and give the meaning. |
Spot light is gonna be on Lagos state. Let's see if Ambode has such huge amount to compensate his God fathers or he's out to work. Akwa IBM state also let's see if he'll do better than his predecessor or he'll lavish the money. Meanwhile Ekiti State though not a rich state, but that budget is awfully too low. Pls economists in the house, what's are implications of that? Is it a right thing to do (perhaps he's being realistic as to the state's IGR + allocation) or its a wrong move? |
oduastates:Really? So bearing a name is now a form of worship?? |
oduastates:But then, is that enough reason why it should be worshipped? |
The reason is not far-fetched. 1. Opposition politicians who would have analysed and probably compared it with previous budgets in order to criticize it, are scared because if they do, the EFCC will come knocking on their doors requesting explanations from the yams they ate. 2. Because other politicians who would have done so, have cross-carpetted and are now pitching tent with APC, hence can't bite the fingers giving them yams to eat. 3. Neutral men who would have done the analysis are careful not criticise perhaps they too might get their share of the yams. 4. The media who would have finally analysed it have also been compromised in Aso Rock with the yams offered by Mrs. Aisha Buhari. MY POINT: IT'S ALL ABOUT THE YAMS ![]() |

Whereas the Dasuki menopause has diaphanously made the point that the Jonathan administration elevated the dum vivimus, vivamus nectar to a nauseating and asphyxiating elastoplast,it can bear reiteration that beyond the current ballyhoo baying for a condign comeuppance, the challenge is how to ensure that each public officer is henceforth subjected to the immolatory trajectory of dulce et decorum est pro patria mori....But can we break away from the penelopic circle of flagellative rigor mortis? https://mobile.facebook.com/PatrickObahiagbon/?refid=46&sld=eyJzZWFyY2hfc2lkIjoiYmFkZjg3MTNkZTRhNzE3MjNkMjg0YTJjMTk3MDM5ZTUiLCJxdWVyeSI6IlBhdHJpY2sgT2JhaGlhZ2JvbiIsInNlYXJjaF90eXBlIjoiU2VhcmNoIiwic2VxdWVuY2VfaWQiOjk1NjQ0NjU5NiwicGFnZV9udW1iZXIiOjEsImZpbHRlcl90eXBlIjoiU2VhcmNoIiwiZW50X2lkIjozMjQ0NzgxMjQyMzYwMTgsInBvc2l0aW9uIjowLCJyZXN1bHRfdHlwZSI6Mjc0fQ%3D%3D

Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) leader and Radio Biafra Director Nnamdi Kanu is to be charged with treason. Kanu was arrested on October 14 in Lagos and arraigned before an Abuja Magistrate’s Court on October 19. The court struck out the charges brought against him by the Department of State Service (DSS) because the prosecution applied to withdraw the charges. Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court, on November 10, ordered that Kanu be detained for 90 days but dismissed this ruling on December 17 and ordered the DSS to release Kanu after holding him for about two months. He also vacated his earlier order permitting the DSS to detain Kanu for 90 days. However, Kanu’s arraignment, which was scheduled for yesterday, did not hold because the hearing notices were not served on parties involved. The six-count charge of treasonable felony filed against Kanu and two others last Friday by the Federal Ministry of Justice was listed yesterday before Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court but no proceedings were conducted because the prosecution was not represented, though the defence was represented by Ifeanyi Ejiofor. It was gathered that no hearing notice had been served on parties as at yesterday and that Ejiofor was only in court having learnt about the pendency of the charge informally. Ejiofor said though he was yet to be served any hearing notice, he confirmed yesterday that the state had, indeed, filed a fresh charge against his client, a day after a judge, also of the Federal High Court, ordered his unconditional release. “I know they filed the new charge to justify their continued detention of my client after the court ordered his release. We are filing our bail application tomorrow (today) to compel them to come before the court to justify his continued detention, failure of which they shall be compelled to release him,” Ejiofor said. It was also gathered that Kanu and others may be arraigned today and if that fails to hold, the trial will be shifted till after the Christmas holidays. Policemen and DSS officials maintained heavy presence around the court from 7am till 1. 30pm, but left hurriedly on learning that the arraignment had been shifted till a later date. Kanu is being charged with, among other things, engaging in acts of terrorism and sponsoring same, belonging to an unlawful society and inciting the public against the Nigerian state. http://thenationonlineng.net/ipob-leader-kanu-to-be-charged-with-treason/
