GREED It’s fine to want things. That hunger can be used as the driving force force for you to do a lot of great things. Having said that, though, there’s a fine line between ambition and greed. With greed, that hunger for things, and then more things, just never appears to be quenched. Greed is unsatisfying, and has a tendency to blind people. APATHY Apathy is the opposite of passion, and it’s one of the most dangerous qualities to possess. Apathy is the anti-dream; it’s a lack of motivation. Choosing to be apathetic in a world full of such marvelous things is simply wasteful, on the most grandiose scale. PETTINESS Pettiness hinders progress; it burns bridges. It’s impossible to focus on the bigger things ahead in life when you can’t shake off the smaller sh*t along the way. The thing is, petty people aren’t necessarily bad people at all, they just have their perspective skewed. There are certain things to worry about, and fuss about, and then there are other things that we all must let roll off our chests. JEALOUSY Jealousy is one of the most unappealing aspects of anyone’s personality. The thing about jealousy, however, is that it comes from a place of admiration. I wouldn’t be “jealous” of LeBron James’ basketball skills if he weren’t the best basketball player in the world. The problem with jealousy is that, often times, instead of striving to attain something for one’s own self, jealousy just exits the body in the form of hate. ENTITLEMENT Entitlement is the flip side of empathy. It’s difficult to be aware of the issues around of you — especially when you’re too caught up being above it all. Entitlement doesn’t allow room for hard work, and, you know something? That’s a shame. Some of the most impactful feelings in life come from reaping the rewards of your hard labor. HATRED Racial hatred. Gender-based hatred. Class hatred. Age hatred. Any type of hatred, really. In my mind, hatred never comes from a place of logic, but rather, ignorance. Much of the time, people will hate something without truly knowing it – like a toddler who hates vegetables until his teenage years, when he actually tries a piece of broccoli for the first time. CLOSED-MINDED THINKING Being closed-minded is only going to limit the person possessing that quality. It will limit the choices they make, experiences they encounter and knowledge they acquire. Ultimately, closed-minded thinking comes from a place of fear, or hubris, and both of these sources can be overcome by simply letting yourself try new things. PESSIMISM At the end of the day, pessimism will hold you back. Never anticipate failure, it will only prevent you from chasing dreams, taking risks and being your natural self. Failure is unavoidable; trust me, you don’t necessarily have to wait up for it. But by being pessimistic, all you’re really doing is creating negative energy when it probably isn’t even needed – at least not yet. Try and see the glass half full, and if you can’t, look for ways you can fill it up more. |

JOHANNESBURG — LEADER of the defunct Movement for Emancipation of Niger Delta, MEND, Henry Okah, serving a 24-year jail term for terrorism in South Africa and four other inmates, attempted breaking jail, Vanguard learnt, yesterday. Spokesman for South Africa’s Department of Correctional Services, Manelisi Wolela, who confirmed the botched effort told reporters: “I can confirm that Okah is one of the five inmates that attempted to escape and whose efforts were foiled.” He did not give details of the attempted escape from Leeukop Prison in Northern Johannesburg that is said to have taken place last month. Okah was convicted last year and sentenced on a 13-count charge of terrorism, including twin bombings that killed 12 people in Abuja during the country’s 50th Independence anniversary in 2010. He was arrested, tried and convicted in South Africa where he has permanent residency. JAILED – File photo of Henry Okah in Court on February 28 2013. The department said most of the offenders involved in the botched escape bid were serving life sentences for serious offences, including murder, kidnapping and robbery. Correctional services officials, however, said security at the prison, which recorded 11 attempted jail breaks in the 12 months until March, last year, had been tightened. Judge Neels Claaseen, last year, sentenced Okah to 24 years in prison having found him guilty in the 13-count charge of acts of terrorism. The judge stated that the struggle of the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND), “is politically motivated and as a result a maximum sentence for Okah will be inappropriate.” He said South Africa, being a signatory to the UN Treaty on Terrorism Acts allowed the convict to be tried in South Africa though the events took place in Nigeria. “As a signatory, South Africa is duty-bound to adopt the treaty and incorporate it into the laws of South Africa, in other words domicile the treaty,” Mr. Claaseen said. He asserted it was the responsibility of the court in sentencing the convict to take into account the feelings of the world community and to make South Africa unpalatable for terrorists to operate within the jurisdiction as member of the community of nations. The three events/crimes Mr. Claaseen said all the 13 counts Mr. Okah was convicted of were related to three events: “The first event was the March 15, 2010 bomb attack, where two car bombs occurred at the venue of a political gathering which was being attended by the Delta State Governor in Warri, Delta State, where one person died and several others were injured. “The second event occurred on October 1, 2010, in Abuja, where two car bombs exploded, killing eight people with several others injured. “Third event is the threat to the Nigerian government. “All these three events were targeted at embarrassing President Goodluck Jonathan,” Mr. Claaseen said. He said these acts were very serious crimes which must be punished in accordance with the terrorism laws. http://www.vanguardngr.com?p=431845 - @vanguardngrnews |

Being in a long queue, hoping to use an ATM service can be very frustrating at times. Thanks to these characters who make it annoying. 1. The guy that counts money before leaving the ATM for others. As if if the money short, ATM go complete am for am? 2. The dude that knows he does not have a kobo in his account, but hopes for a miracle. After wasting everyone’s’ time,’ insufficient balance’ will chase him away! 3. The guy that multiplies the cue just to check his balance. You will be left wondering whether he does not receive alerts. 4. The guy that acts as if the world will end today. He goes to the Atm and you think he wants to withdraw his whole life savings. At a point people will start begging him to remain some cash in the ATM. 5. The dude that quarrels with the ATM. Even though the machine is prompting him that his pin is incorrect or card has expired. U will still him complaining or screaming at the ATM. ‘Jeez! I used this card just this morning! Which kyn bank be this? 6. that man/woman that just goes there an stand for almost 20minutes… When you go closer you discover the machine asked ‘do you wish to proceed? Yes or No? And the olodo just did not press anything. 7. The instructor. Leaves the cue to go and instruct another only to be the next person. Too annoying. 8. Student with multiple Atm cards withdrawing one one thousand frm each of the several cards at his/her disposal...especially when the network is slow... You can drop urs... ![]() |

Warning...viewers discretion is advised (Graphic photos) Fish With HUMAN TEETH Caught In Russian RiverA fisherman from the Arkhangelsk region of Russia caught a fish in the country’s Northern Dvina River that had a creepily human-like set of teeth, Pravda reported Monday. “When I opened it I nearly dropped the thing in surprise,” Alexander Korobov, an experienced fisherman, said, according to the Metro. Gennady Dvorykankin of the Knipovich Polar Research Institute of Marine Fisheries and Oceanography said scientists there believe the fish is an herbivorous piranha. “It is very unlikely that it made its way from its natural tropical waters to our Arctic and then into the river so we can only assume it was dumped by an owner of exotic fish,” he said, according to the Mirror.Fish With HUMAN TEETH Caught In Russian River See here - http:///WXcuzBJygr

According to The Cable The wife is seeking divorce on the grounds of “unreasonable behaviour” and “adultery”. She outlined several allegations against the pastor which TheCable cannot publish for legal reasons. The divorce case, with Suit No FD14D01650, was filed on April 9, 2014 at Divorce Section A, Central Family Court, First Avenue House, High Holborn, London, UK, on Anita’s behalf by Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors, a full-service law firm with expertise in commercial law and a strong consumer focus in family, wills and estate, personal injury law and medical negligence. Efforts to reconcile the popular couple, whose church is one of the biggest denominations in Nigeria and has branches all over world, have failed. They have two teenage daughters, Sharon and Charlyn. Oyakhilome is the president of Believers’ Love World Inc, the registered name of the Christian ministry, while his wife is the vice-president. The pastor, according to an elder of the church, has denied allegations of adultery and believes his wife is being influenced by “bad friends” who are intent on destroying their home. While Anita believes she has been relegated in the scheme of things in the church, her husband has reportedly accused her of trying to usurp power and authority above her seniors in the ministry. Sources told TheCable that the pastor had been making efforts to avoid divorce in the hope that the wife would eventually have a change of mind. However, TheCable can also report that the decree nissi was served on the charismatic pastor in his hotel room during a recent visit to the UK. Decree nissi, in legal terms, is like a yellow card in a football match which is a precursor to a red card (“decree absolute”) if no new evidence is provided to stall proceedings. Church insiders said Oyakhilome had been hoping for rapprochement, but he was left with no option than to receive the papers when the lawyers cornered him at his hotel in London. The decree absolute, which will effectively end the marriage, is expected to be issued soon while terms of the divorce will be worked out by the lawyers on both sides. Continue reading at The Cable |

The Girl Who Started the Whole ”Salt & Water Ebola Cure” has come out publicly to tender an Apology well continue reading… I Started The Salt & Water Ebola Cure Rumor I am Truely Sorry – by Adesewa (Nairaland) My confession and apology Dear Nigerians and everyone who have heard of the ebola Prevention “News”, My name is Adesewa, I am coming out clean because what started as a joke has escalated into the unprecedented. How it started Yesterday i was with friend in her hostel, we were talking about this Ebola out break, when one of my friends, Funke (she introduced me to NL) brought the idea of Us playing a prank on our friends. The first suggestion was to tell people that aloe very could cure Ebola, but we thought it would sound too ridiculous so we forgot about it. Later that even an idea came to me (i now regret that i did it). I decided to send a BBM broadcast message to my friends, telling them that the Ministry of Health has asked everyone to bathe with salt and warm water and drink some of it. I sent the message 7:08pm yesterday Later this midnight i started getting calls and messages that i should drink salt water and bath with it. All efforts to tell people that i was the one who started the joke failed. Only my friends who i mentioned earlier believed me. Even my mum called me this morning, i did not know what to tell her. I am using this medium to beg you all to warn and tell everyone, before they drink salt and damage their health. Please dont be hash on me. I know this has gone out of hand. I never knew it will be this serious. Some have even added to the original message i sent. According to her, She’s a student of Federal University of Technology, Akure. HAVE YOU FORGIVEN HER?

I can bet that this whole Nonsense about salt intake startted from one daft uneducated woman sellin meat in the market cos she assumes that. Since salt is also used for the preservation of meat, it cld also be used as a form of prevention from ebola ...well they said in the land of the blind, a one eyed man becomes d king...there is the scenario.. |
