d_realsirhid: APC Registration: We still have legal right of APC says rival group
on August 01, 2013 at 4:44 pm in News
BY JOHNBOSCO AGBAKWURU
ABUJA -THE African Peoples Congress, one of the political associations contesting the APC acronym with the registered All Progressives Congress, Thursday said that the decision by the National Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, to register the All Progressives Congress does not take away its legal right over the APC acronym.
The group also lampooned the commission saying that the registration of APC despite the pending court matter was a deliberate plan by the commission to plunge the country into anarchy.
National Chairman of African peoples Congress, Chief Onyinye Ikeagwuonu in a news briefing at the association’s headquarters in Abuja, said despite what he described as a set back, his group would continue with the preparations to contest the Anambra governorship election slated for November this year.

I said it on this forum that Jega has successfully given victory in the 2015 elections to the PDP by registering APC when it is public knowledge that the Acronym is still a subject matter of Litigation.

Politics / Re: All Progressive Congress (APC) Registered By INEC by drealsirhid: 10:08am On Aug 01, 2013
Pedagogue: Tinubu's APC don enter one-chance be dat. The name APC is still under litigation. What if Tinubu's APC loses the court case at the 11th hour? Wouldn't it have been safer and wiser to pick a new and risk-free name?

Anyway, I wish them luck. At least, they'll add more competitiveness to the political process. But Tinubu's APC chance in the 2015 presidential election is ZERO

...............................................
1. U said "APC DON ENTER ONE CHANCE and that it would have been wiser if they had picked a risk free name"-
There's nothing logical about this point. What do u mean by "risk free name". Is there anything like that? We all know that there was no party called APC prior to the announcement of the merger. But immediately they announced d name,a massive building was promptly bought in the heart of Abuja and some paid politicians claimed the name is theirs!
Even when some people suggested (including Aruleba of AIT) that APC should just add 'n' to their name and make it ''APCN", some unknown politicians (obviously acting the script of the ruling party) addressed a press conference the next day saying that were on the verge of applying to INEC to have the name ''APCN" approved as a party!
D truth is- even if APC choose another name tomorrow, another party wud probably lay claim to it...it all boils down to the desperate politics of frustration that PDP has been playing!

2. "What if Tinubu's APC loses the court case at the 11th hour? "
To start with, APC is not Tinubu's property...so,please stop the intentional aim of disparaging the party! Albeit he's a key stakeholder,he's not the only one....There are other big politicians like Buhari and co - it's a merger folk, not a 1 man party!
To answer your question, do you have an idea about the number of PDP cases in court? Albeit those cases are not about the name/registration of PDP as a party, but some of these cases are very critical to the party's 2015 ambition! So, will PDP stop functioning as a party because of these cases? Hell no! Any law student would tell you that facts/circumstances favour APC...since they've been able to cross the hurdle of registration,it will take the highest court of the land to overrule INEC! And of course, public policy is always paramount when the supreme court is to decide any issue. Thus, APC politicians cannot be disturbed by any case in court....that is why they have a legal team! So, don't make it sound like their registration is inchoate!
So,to throw a similar question @ u- what If any convention that PDP holds before d 2015 election is nullified by d court?

3. "they'll add more competitiveness to the political process. But APC chance in the 2015 presidential election is ZERO"
Are you sure you are a "sincere Nigerian" ? What hv the chances you've been giving to PDP since 1999 done for the country? How can you categorically say a merger of All the key opposition parties in Nigeria has Zero chance? No politician can ever say that! You can see that PDP politicians do not think like u- they know the threat they pose...that is why they did everything possible to ensure that d party is not registered!

* I am more than happy that APC has been registered. I am happy not because I am a politician, I am happy because the perennial slavery of Nigeria (at the national level) is about to come to an end).
Many that voted GEJ and not PDP have since realised that a party cannot be separated from an individual...they are one and the same! Nigeria cannot move forward if the same PDP cabal at the centre keeps winning!!! Since d PDP can boast of little it has done for d past 16 years, why allow the same party again?
Many will also argue that all politicians are the same and APC might be more worse....-this has been d tactics PDP has been using to deceive Nigerians! In d South West for instance, no one will say Agagu,Oni,Daniel,Oyinlola and Akala are better than their successors! That aside,How can an under performing party be kept in govt for 16 years! Politics should be about options...How can we claim we are a democratic state and a party will boast of ruling for 60 years!!!

Message to APC: Pls present a 'progressive' presidential candidate

If you are a Lawyer, I would advise you to go back to the Law school for proper training in Civil procedures. This is because your reasoning befits only a Court Registrar. A matter is in court over the same acronym and you simply dismissed that with a wave of hand? What has happened to the doctrine of lis pendens? I need not bother you with the numerous Supreme court decisions on conduct of parties viz a viz the subject matter in dispute once they submit themselves to the jurisdiction of the Courts. I make bold to state that INEC has successfully opened the political graveyard for the Merger parties and they have foolishly fell in enmasse. Events of the next few months would be very very interesting. You will be shocked to discover very soon that APC is a gigantic sinking ship
Religion / Re: Deeper Life Suspends Kumuyi’s Son, Daughter-in-law by drealsirhid: 7:16am On Jul 03, 2013
Diligence: For places of worship where anything goes, no qualms, but for a church that preaches and practises holiness in this sinful and adulterous generation, then there must be standards in alignment with the bible.

In summary, where there is no regulation, there is no compliance.

A church that stands for nothing, falls for everything/anything.

Are u worshipping in a place where Jesus Christ CANNOT even grace the wedding ceremony? Abi biblical standard don change?

Shame to all those churches/christians who frown at this discipline! Shame to all those who expose instead of cover their unclothedness! Shame to all sons and daughters of vipers, who are pained, because holiness once again in upheld!

Shame! Shame! And repent otherwise, ye shall likewise perish!

Thank you very much. On a. Lighter note, I don't think there is anyone that is chained in the church and not free to. Leave at any time of his/her choice. Every association has its own body of rules and principles, to which members subscribe to and must comply with, the failure of which attracts discipline as we have here. If the church had not taken this step, these protesters would stil protest. The church has done what it considers appropriate(and so too by all moral standards), and I don't see any illegality in what they have done

Politics / Imo Community Alleges Rape Of Women By Fulani Herdsmen by drealsirhid: 2:24pm On Apr 26, 2013
Not less than five women have been allegedly raped while several others were beaten to death by herdsmen in Ihie/Umuapu communities of Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State.
The incident, it was gathered, followed the alleged invasion of the area by the cattle rearers. In a protest match to the Imo State House of Assembly Wednesday, the communities called on Governor Rochas Okorocha to look into the activities of herdsmen in their communities.
Spokesman of the communities, Evangelist Christian Alihie, alleged that a similar incident occurred in the area last year. He further alleged that the herdsmen also rob people of the area of their valuables.  Addressing the protesters, the member representing Ohaji/Egbema in state House of Assembly, Luke Chukwu, decried the activities of the Fulani herdsmen, while calling on government to intervene immediately.
Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Donatus  Ozoemena, on his part urged the people to remain peaceful, saying government will look into the matter.
But a herdsmen who identified himself simply as Musa, denied the allegation, saying instead that people of the communities are always assaulting herders.
