I don't understand what rule you are referencing.

Only the injured party can institute FREP before the court. Fundamental human rights violations are not like any other civil matters whereof interested parties can seek to be joined.

The allegations were personal and directed at Mr. Akpabio and not the wife.

A wife cannot sue a person for defaming her husband. It is the character and reputation of the husband that was attacked, NOT the wife or family.

At best, the wife can ask her Lawyers to file this suit on behalf of her husband. She has no part in the matter. Her name was not mentioned.
The restrictive approach of locus standi ended with the FREP rule of 1979, whereby to institute a Fundamental human right suit , the applicant must first seek and obtain the leave of court. Aside this, only a person who is likely to or has suffered actual violation was clothed with requisite locus to approach the court with a view to ventilate the grievance.

Liberalism approach of locus standi expanded its scope beyond this point to allow third parties to institute actions on FHRs with the emergence of FREP rules of 2009.

The only legal challenge with this expansion was that it’s implemented was carried out through procedural law enactment- in the sense that procedural law is in lower hierarchy to substantive (ground norm). I think you get the gist now?

Hence the current position of the law when it comes to the institution of FHRs aligns with the liberalism approach to locus standi.

This woman and her lawyers are a complete bunch of jokers.

The lawyers knew or ought to know that she lacks the locus standing to file this action.
It’s a fundamental suit. It’s an exception to the rule.

This is why we always tell them - an injustice to one is an injustice to all. Let’s work against corruption unanimously. Because it hasn’t affected you today while it’s affecting some today , it may be your turn tomorrow.

Politicians make money out of corrupt practices but forget the consequences of the corruption will not allow them to enjoy the illicit wealth gathered.

I pray politicians become targets of these kidnappers. When it gets to that point, we will begin to see changes in our governance.

Kidnappers should not go near common men , because we are not the cause of hardship in the land. They should go after those who are making life hard for the people. I rest my case.

I don’t believe Nigeria will be better , even if it will , it can’t happen in our generation.

Therefore, I deserve to experience what it means to live under a working system- that embraces fairness in labor and hard work.
A system that uses tax payers money as promised. And a system that prioritizes the welfare of everyone without bias as to class.

I wish to find myself in such a beautiful world that I will naturally be motivated to put in more effort not for myself but for the common goal we share as a society.

But the thing is when you taste different flavors, you will definitely settle for a favorite one. Is my flavor really your favorite? Will you manage it or will you look for your favorite flavor? A runs girl's body count is transactional but people that do it casually know what they are looking for: 'pleasure'. So while a runs girl will miss the 'money', the casual one will miss the 'pleasure'.

Stop talking

Since FG acted on Binance dollar manipulating in Nigeria, Naira has been gaining strength.

Is it only Nigeria Binance was banned or have issue with the government country?

Why should we be using crypto rate as dollar rate in Nigeria?

Annoyingly, those who have no idea about the extent of Binance manipulation would come on this thread to defend him. Annoyingly

Modified: It's important for Nigerians to have a clue about the basis of Binance trouble in Nigeria.

So Binance and some crooks in Nigeria, colluded together to be placing fake orders on Binance which will required dollars settlement. The crooks would use the receipt of the placed orders to exchange naira to dollar at a very discounted price as the amount is huge.

Eventually, the orders are not existing, the demanded dollars are meant to be laundered outside Nigeria most especially other African countries and sell at high price.

It got to the extent that there was too much demand on dollar which made the suspicion.

Now , how many years have Binance been manipulating naira-dollar rate in Nigeria? That some people said Binance left a year ago while the dollar is still around N1500. So you expect years of manipulating to be vanished within a year?
But FG didn’t act on the fraud allegations against Yahaya Bello. FG didn’t act on fraud allegation against Dbanj who was alleged of diverting Npower fund? FG didn’t bring the case of Dele Farotimi and Afe Babalola and several more other money laundering fraud cases, unfairness in the judiciary into convincing conclusions.

But you’re typing to fight and rebuke a foreigner who clearly is indicting Nigerian leaders who are already are notorious for acute corruption, nepotism and political corruption.

He mentioned Nigerian leaders - he even clearly stated names.

The subsidy the FG removed from taxpayers money in promise of making citizens life better , the redesign of naira , the unsubstantiated taxes of local financial transactions, where are the physical results of the application of those revenues collected from the Nigerians ?

Are you not supposed to ask those questions? If the Nigerian government have been into all these corruption, and a foreigner is coming to name names and you presume innocence on these names , don’t you think you’re wrong and perhaps selfish and not a witness of truth sir.

Show me your friend and I will tell you who you’re. Birds of the same feather flocks together.

The Nigerians leaders have acted in ways that no reasonable Nigerian should support them in cases of stark allegation of fraud , except those ones that are directly benefiting from them.

We have states and places in Nigeria that have been in blackout for years. Yet the Nigerian government will be approving billions of dollars over claims of using the fund to improve electricity.

Tell me who then sabotage the economy of Nigeria as a nation more than the Nigerian leaders ?

How many of our politicians have infrastructures in the country. At least if they steal such huge sum but use it to establish infrastructure in the country, that would still be better. But he’ll no, they steal from us , take the money to another man’s country spend lavishly and come back to torture poor Nigerian youths as the cause of reputation damage over the image of Nigeria.

How many houses do Nigeria politicians individually own outside of Nigeria? Their choice properties are littered around overseas. Some foreign government have even seized some of these assets upon suspicion of fraud and money laundering over their owners and the Nigerian politicians will never mind to recover these assets never again because they have no prove to justify the fraud allegation .

Until their death that’s when you will begin to know all their hidden assets outside of the country.

All roads in Nigeria is nothing to write home about. Nigeria has been struggling with provision of basic amenities right from 1996 and up till now.

Contracts are being awarded to friends of politicians, no follow up teams . All the system of government from local government to the federal government is a complete cesspool of corruption.

You collect everything from the tax payers and give them nothing other than hardship , reputation damage and loss of quality life as gift to poor citizens of Nigeria.

I pray this matter escalates and one of your mediocre politicians makes a sensitive comment that will rue up Donald Trump and declassify all top profile cases of corruption of Nigerian leaders with the USA.

Who knows maybe it’s time for true freedom of the Nigerians.

Wicked people.

An allegation of such magnitude that someone had come to your country to destroy your economy through their platform, the first logical step should be to have such accused person detained and tried without delay.

But for the corruption that has ravaged the country, your first step you held secret meeting. Was that how other countries that tried Binance went about their prosecution?

If you people didn’t have ulterior motive.

Reading the comments of many Nigerians in this story, one feels so sorry for what Nigerians have become. IT IS SO SAD. Many lack even the most minimal of comprehension skills. They can’t even read or understand what they read. Any article or post over 200 words riles them and they become resentful. You see a total lack of home training or courtesy. Most readers did not even attempt to comprehend or assess the statement or explanation made by the Law Maker one way or the other. You don’t have to agree with his side of the story but readers are expected to at least give a reasoned explanation for disagreeing. Instead it’s just ranting, raving, whining, frothing at the mouth and cussing. Even when the Law Maker has stated that he sued Binance & its CEO in September 2024 for the false allegations against him and gave details of particulars of the case in which hearing has already started, illiterates & mor.ons here are still crying that he should go to Court if he is innocent while other cret.ins mock his resort to the Courts to clear his name. If these are the future leaders of Nigeria, we have no hope.
It is you that needs to have conscious mind. Leaders in saner clime understand the consequences of corrupt practices which is one you are seeing now.

Citizens will stop trusting their leaders when there’s too many cases of poorly handled corruption matters.

The case of Yahaya Bello where is it now ? Do you still remember Alamasighia case? Kemi Adeosun, Mompha. There was a time Mompha stated it expressly that the EFCC is a cesspool of corruption.

Has the recent case of Dele Farotimi quickly disappeared from your brain?

What else do you need to know to presume that this man is lying, except you’re one of those that benefit from their corrupt practices.

Even though I was trained to hear both sides of a story. I know there’s truly a danger of one sided story. But has our judiciary and the leaders who are meant to uphold justice and accountability demonstrated any act that make them to live up to expectations of the people?

You should ask yourself that question.

You are the one that needs to take the advice you just wrote; not the people.

Countries where their government systems work because they only have leaders with integrity, were successful with the prosecution of Binance, but in Nigeria , politicians saw it as an opportunity to take their own share of the forbidden fruit.

The case had become first come first serve. They invited him to the National Assembly, and unknown to him other government agencies were already investigating the matter.

Someone who doesn’t even know other government agencies investigating the same matter do you think such individual has genuine intention to investigate the matter to start with?

Shouldn’t that signal red flags to you already?

Why would different government agencies be investigating same subject matter and they won’t synchronise their data?

Think about it again. They literally wanted to die the matter down in the assembly and quickly have their own cut.

They know once the case goes to court the money is going into a different account which is not under their control.

beardedboy:
I have almost firsthand info about this project.

Firstly, it's not just a website as many are saying. It's a data-driven web application

Secondly, indeed the government spent a lot of money on the project. They procured servers, ESRI enterprise license and even hired German developers.

But the project failed because our government didn't use our local talent. That 700m is small money to those German companies. But if you spend 300m on a team of naija Devs, ọmọ they'll write code till thy Kingdom come. And they'll even be easier to monitor.

For example, few months ago, the ministry contacted the German contractors to fix some issues in the portal and they asked for 20k USD. That's like 32M. A naija dev will do it easily and competently for 5m.

Also, the money spent on the ESRI license is too much. Developing countries round the world are using open source technologies. They only use proprietary software when necessary. When you use opensource technology, you're saving money, contributing to human knowledge, building your local talent.
But when you use proprietary software, you're just contributed to one silicon valley CEO's private yatch.
They lied to you bro. Our political rulers are harden criminals. You may be surprised to know that the proprietary software you mentioned is a package deliberately set up to execute corruption plans between them and the so called German company.

Yes. Don’t trust companies. It’s where the highest level of monetary transaction happens same as where the highest level of corrupt practices occur.

Most of our political rulers are pro internet fraudsters. It’s that recognition amongst their cronies that brought most of them to where they are. They operate at a very high frequency.

They know if they hired a local developer they won’t be able to get much and high chances their secret will come in open in no time.

In the world of fraud practice, advanced fraudsters don’t joke with transactions that support offshore locations , shell companies and many more entities designed to veil their corrupt operations.

You should ask yourself the question again ? Why didn’t they hire Nigerian developers?

Do you think they were not aware there are expert Nigerian developers ?

Or do you think logically, the service an expert Nigerian developer would offer will not surpass what the German developers would offer the nation owning to the crop of software engineers with ingenuous technology innovation that had sprung up from Nigeria in recent years ?

Brother , think about it again.

Do you think the thieves were not aware ?
They are fraudsters bro. Open your eyes.

This type of news don’t interest Nigerians. And when I mentioned in a post where one politician in Ekiti was in the news for distributing 500 Jamb forms and I commented on another sensible comment of a Nairalander to support the position that Nigerians are gullible and the most senseless of Gods creatures, and one nonentity was tackling his father.

I will wait for two days to see whether this news will go viral. I’m 10000% sure , it will not , but if it’s the news concerning unclothedness how Iyabo Ojo or Tuface are fighting Annie , all of them will start sharing and making stupid comments.

But where their legacy is being plundered right in their own eyes and the news media is talking about it , they won’t make contributions.

How will the country not continue to wreck?

How will some idiots declared they used 700 million naira to set up a Wordpress website or probably hardcoded website and we are hearing the site is no longer live.

From the 700 million , the can buy domain and hosting that will expired in 2090 on namecheap.

So how come ? Nigerians don’t ask questions. It’s such a pity I’m pushed into this part of the world by my creator.

A bundle of contradiction your statement is, I tell you.

How do you place “true love” in a list, then go ahead and claim that if your hubby doesn’t provide you with money and sex, you will look elsewhere?

Wait! Are the things listed meant to be from your hubby alone?

Well, when you marry, you marry your partner’s excesses as well as his strengths. There is a such a thing as working on a marriage.

True God orchestrated marriage, but no good marriage is made in heaven.

Every enviable marriage are made on earth by two people who put in the work by embracing knowledge, wisdom, and understanding of the subject matter as instructed by God’s holy book.

Every one good in bed learned the act. They weren’t born in heaven with expertise. So why should you cheat on your hubby because of this? Understanding entails you both learn the act together—since you are a maniac who chose to marry.

Every one who has money built from somewhere, if money matters so much to you, then why marry the poor man in the first place to contemplate cheating?

If you aim to cheat because your hubby no longer has money, that is bizarre to say the least—but people do all sorts.

Truth is, putting true love in your list is just off.

Cause you can’t marry for true love and have issues with the other two things you listed.

Albeit, if you expect only your hubby to provide all three while you are the recipient. That is already a dead marriage working.

It is frustrating to keep giving and not receiving. It is killing to keep trying to make improvements and not receive encouragement to be better.

So I’ll pity your “hubby” because he will be a frustrated man.

Because even the Bible is clear on this:

Can two walk together unless they agree?

Agreement should be on spiritual, mental, and physical level.

So talk it out with your fiancé and consider if you want to proceed before saying, I do.

Alternatively, if you are in a marital commitment already and feel it isn’t working, instead of cheating on your spouse by getting it elsewhere, please ask for a divorce.

But to cheat on a man who truly loves you because he no longer can provide or not a champion in a bed is a decision that will breed shame.

Regards.
Well articulated.

It's not good optics that the number two citizen is captured on camera hobnobbing with a man standing trial for corruption to the tune of tens (abi na hundreds, sef) of billions of Naira.

However, for political expediency and capitalization, it's not a crime; even more importantly is the position of the law that presumes innocence on the accused party until otherwise proved by the court of law (until all legal options are exhausted).

So, it depends on which part of the fence you're seated: if you're for moral considerations, this photo is all shades of wrong but if you're for political and legal considerations, it's just another one of those moments between political acquaintances (of the same party if I may add) and possibly, even friends.
The scene is still a show of shame and corruption even under legal considerations. The scene further affirm the decadence in our legal systems. With the prima facie evidence tabled before the court, what reasonable ground that could have not made Yaya Bello currently serving his jail sentence by now?

What’s causing the delay? The school he paid the humongous foreign currency of millions of dollars (I can’t specifically say), came out in broad day light to announce that they refunded the allegedly fraud money into the EFCC account.

In comparing the way our criminal court systems are quick to sentence poor criminal offenders with Yaya Bellos case, is it not a clear indication of corruption at its peak. To even make the matter worse , he’s seeing hobnobbing with the VP.

I need to remind you that sentencing of criminals is very important; it’s not just for the sole aim of serving punishment on the offender but to serve as deterrent. So how is the Nigeria court upholding this principle.

In addition, cases like this kill development. No reasonable foreign investor will get to hear about this case and be willing to come invest his hard earned money in a country that’s smeared with a corrupt legal system.

What do you think such a show of shame and irresponsibility will be teaching the masses ?

Is it not clearly encouraging them that you can embezzle government money and no head will roll? Because how can someone like Yaya Bello be found wandering around when such a huge and almost irrefutable allegation of fraud is dangling around his head? Just how?

The problem is not with the current education structure of 6-3-3-4.
This same system had produced excellent products working in and outside of Nigeria and doing excellently well.

The problem is with proper application and appropriation of funds , genuine follow up and continuity in implementation.

I’m so pretty sure this néw development is solely to steal public fund again. When you see them coming with baseless and backwards innovation just know it’s about to go down. They want to go on a money stealing spree! Thieves.

The thieves pretending they are not aware of the education practices in the west. How intentional governments in the west are heavily relying on technology to build robust educational system.

How western government develop systems that practically offer access to quality education to all regardless of your class as a citizen.

Policies they make is not about how much it will benefit the citizens but about how much is in it for them to steal and embezzle.

I’m not sure if this even passed through due process. Bunch of mediocres thinking of themselves as efficient and smart.

Honestly speaking I feel sad for Gays.
When I was very young I almost had one rape me. The dude is now in the USA. He was financially independent and was ready to spend money on me so long I allowed him.

The day he was going to attempt raping me, he invited me to a private apartment in a remote part of the city.

We had foods and drinks only me and him. Then he started smoking weed and asked if I would like to have a taste of it. I politely declined and he kept pressuring. So I took it, but didn’t smoke it properly so I knew what I was doing.

Suddenly he asked me to come to the room and there when I entered I saw this guy stark naked and was moving towards me. Omo! I gently told him to hold on. That even if we would do this that I needed to relax for a while.

He agreed. I remained calm because it was already late. While I was pretending to be relaxing I was calculating in my head what to give as excuse to step out of that house.

Note that the place is not familiar to me even though have been living in that city for over 10 years at the time. Lol.

But I knew the only way of escape is to step out and I will surely find my way home.

Then something told me to tell him I needed to get airtime. Then the practice of loading airtime with banking app was not available. In fact it was still through the printed paper airtime.

He told me it’s late but when I pressured him further he allowed me. One thing I’m always very calm in the face of challenge.

As I stepped out of the house , the whole place was so dark. I had to trek down to a nearby open street and called a familiar location to a bike man. The man told me how would I expect a bike to take me to that far distance. That’s when it dawned on me I’m so far from home.

I just told him to take me to the nearest place close to my final destination. He billed me heavily but I never minded. I quickly hopped on the bike and fled for my dear life. Getting home I deleted and blocked his number.

He was repeatedly trying reaching out but I never gave him the chance until he traveled out.

I think gays derive more pleasure from young lads.

He had a lot of them around him then and they were really looking well taken care of.

Through this guy I knew a lot of wealthy individuals who are into homo. There are a lot of them in our society.

But an average person won’t know this. 😂

From my perspective, I believe a lot of them were sadly born with it. Also, it’s possible to be initiated into it. For instance , he the guy nearly got me when he began to shower on me gifts and money.

That’s the reason I was able to follow him that far distance without even me caring to mentally note how we got to the location. We were of course in his car, and he was like let’s just have a ride around the city and explore.

On the flip side, I felt the homo practice is based on a strong social belief that guys who are into it operate at a higher level of consciousness.

Most gays are usually smart and can get things achieved easily.
I don’t really know how to place it , but it’s some sort of social elevation and a mark that says - this person is a real one. Ladies would often fall for them too because they are much more focused than an average straight guy.

However , from the perspective of a straight guy - It’s a crazy hormone that needs to be researched by scientists. It’s really not a normal thing. Lol

I feel for them.

Our laws work, when they want to work. That, in itself, is a big problem.
Read this part of the post,” where he falsified election results to the advantage of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nse Ntuen, then a political ally of Godswill Akpabio, who is now the Senate president.

On a norm, Nse Ntuen and everyone involved is equally meant to be rotting in jail forever if your assertion were to be right.

They robbed u of ur phone. That can be traumatic.

Tell me how stealing a phone mirror can be traumatic
Whether it’s a mirror or a phone, taking someone’s property without their consent goes against natural law.

Every possession, no matter how small, often holds special value to its owner. For example, a car mirror might seem insignificant, but it could carry sentimental or practical importance.

If you're in need, don't resort to stealing—ask for help. There are kind-hearted people who may assist you. While many might turn you down, one or two will extend a helping hand. However, your need must be genuine and not a result of laziness.

I recently lost my phone to a robbery but have since replaced it. During the period without a phone, my work suffered, and my pending tasks were paralyzed.

If the boy who robbed me had simply asked for help, I would have given it to him—I always do when I can. But after this experience, I've vowed never to assist street people again.

What hurt me the most wasn’t just the theft but the fact that the boy threatened to stab me if I attempted to retrieve the phone. That statement broke me.

I initially thought he needed help, as he approached me from behind. Seeing a boy his age, I assumed he was seeking assistance, not realizing I was his target for harm.

It’s disheartening how trust and goodwill can be shattered by such experiences.

Must they beat him like that?
Some things are better done in a merciful way.
I used to have this mindset until the day I was robbed of my phone.
Police officers that took down my statement told me they kill in the location. It’s along the bridge. They simply push their victim across to the other side where there are rocks and harmful objects.

Victims land on the other side unconscious or dead instantly. Then they go to him. Ransack his pockets and clean him of all tangible and intangible assets on him.

If he’s not dead. They finish him up and pull him into the river. Put rock over him and disappear.

I no longer have pity on any thief after my encounter. They are really really heartless.

Some spirits very active after demise. From every indication, he exposed the killing, nobody could have known where he was buried. Ipa aye oni kawa, lase Edumare. grin grin grin grin
Exposing the killing is a sign of a lost battle. Consider it this way: Two forces were fighting for supremacy. During the battle, he was fatally injured. He managed to defend himself and even struck back at the opposition a few times, but the final fatal attack drained his energy, leaving him only able to shout for help. Unfortunately, no one came to his rescue, allowing the opposition to finish him off.

The call for help came only after he had died, revealing the fight between the two forces. This hypothetical story is analogous to the current case. His inner spirit was subdued during the spiritual battle.

We are all fighting for one thing: comfort. While some don’t mind how they get it, others are willing to wait and persevere until it’s their turn. While it’s a good idea to hold on until your turn, it’s not enough. You have to protect yourself because many individuals don’t hesitate to use others as steppingstones to get what they need in life.

In anything you do in life, don't let them kill you.

I thought you had evidence of foul play.
I read everything but your spiritual conjectures are not why the case is in court.
No serious judge will entertain your stories for a supposed murder case.
Now I get your point. Apologies if my initial remark sounded harsh. The point I'm making is to insulate the case off the general conception of law and order, which is of the physical, but to align it with the spiritual warfare, which most people don't believe exist.

The reason why i am moved to push this thought out is when i read someone stating that the spirit of the victim was strong. How could his spirit have been strong and ended up being killed?

Can you enlighten us.
What attempt was metted on them?
Can you read the bolded along the other text again? Possibly, your eyes skip words and phrases when you read.

This man used to have a Polytechnic at Logemo House, Onipanu, just by Mobil filling station. Only God knows how many have died mysteriously. I know Oduduwa University, just after Gbongan towards, Ipetu, Ile-Ife. He contested for Oniship. The spirit of that guy killed strong oo. Ki se gbogbo eye la fi nse ebo. grin grin grin grin
If his spirit was strong as you have asserted, they wouldn't have been able to kill him. I can bet it with you that a few individuals would have booked that same room and same attempt was melted on them but didn't work. All these things happen in the spirit world before they materialize in the physical.
That's why I always advice people to fortify themselves spiritually. The whites that came to demonize our tradition and all our deities are stupendously involved in spiritual practices.
Have you listened to the popular Bonny M song , By the Rivers of Babylon?
Read the lyrics and try to understand the meaning- the song is a pure incantation - the lesser version of Ofo(incantation) which is Ayajo (in Yoruba).
The world is more than what meets the eyes. A word is enough for the wise.
