Drenimarcus: Nice one OP, quick question. Please, what is the aura in Mauritus like? How many days do you plan to spend post-covid quarantine? I asked because i deh find better country in the southern part of Africa as retirement. Botswana, Mauritius and Namibia are on my list. Thank you and have a pleasant stay.
Leebeedo: It's wrong to make a generalization based on just one or few cases you witnessed. I brought my girl over to the USA and everything has been smooth. I was scared though, but marriage no be by being smart, just pray you don't meet the wrong one cos you can meet them when you're based in Nigerian as well.
lol, i said those who scam to bring their ladies over. I am married too, like you said, pray you dont meet the wrong one. Stay safe bro.

In this age, only a fool will scam people for papers to bring a Nigerian lady over. I can not wrap my head on that. There was a case of a guy who petitioned for his wife from naija(been married for 2 years or 3 i think), she waited till she got the visa, came in and got the 10 years right away, changed her address on file and sent "mr man" divorce papers. Keep bringing them over and they will keep absconding here. Muntula set of people.
God will help me bless you people posting different delicacies here, my number one problem for this country na food. But, with you guys posting here, i now have lots of food recipes to choose from.
Caracta: Yeah they were quite surprised at my English too. They told me I speak with a British accent. In my mind, I was like 'who dashed me that one'. We were colonized duhhh. They are tired of my name though. They just can't seem to pronounce it well. When I go for appointments and it's my turn, they just come to me to usher me in. They would rather do that than announce my name. I don't like it that way so I try to teach them the short form if it's a place I have to go often.
haha, to rub it in for them, i use the "big english" to let them know say no be wayo , my name is kinda short but they like to drag it, they tend to apologize if they cant pronounce it well. I just tell them it is okay, i have an abbreviation.
I wear my natives to church e'rry sunday, they love the hand designs, always asking me when am i going to nigeria to buy for them lmao.
I live in Minnesota which is predominantly white but populated with Somalis who are refugees. At work, we got 2 or 3 Somalis working. The first day at work, my lead told me i spoke good english lol, told her we were colonized by the british and we all speak the queen's language eloquently, she asked me which part i am from? Told her i am from the southern part.
From my POV, most of them dont know anything about Africa and the Somalis do not help with their raw and brazen wildness, some know nigerians because we are basically everywhere, they think africans ride elephants and have lions as pet. .
I try to educate some of them tho. Amazingly, none of them ever spoke or talked about "Nigerian Prince".
Chiggsglover: Hahaha, you might get lesser snow this year. We on this side might have a higher chance of snow, I started seeing frost on my bike seat and tyre late November.
About the locs, it's even cheaper on your side. They told me to pay €80. Imagine I have to pay that every month for 6months, I could buy a car, yes, a colleague of mine bought a car for €500, I could buy that easily with two weeks pay.
What I did was to watch youtube videos, from locking gels, to plaiting to twisting. So far that tool below is the best. You can get it from Joom or aliexpress. Joom is expensive but it almost certain it will arrive.
You'll have to part your hair in sections, and get a sizable strand, then use that tool to tangle your hair. If you are in a job where you have to open your hair, it's best you take the weekend and do it. If you have a partner, it's much better and faster.
This year, I added locking my hair as a means to relax, ill just put on a documentary or news and start to play around my hair and I find it very relaxing. I'll advise against twisting and it can cause your locs to snap. I did twisting when I first started. When I got my visa, I wasn't combing then and hair locked in one lump. So I had to do lots of ripping and parting.
Thanks for info bro but i did not elucidate properly, i am just starting, bought a sponge for use already. The $25 is for barbing o, dreads cost $400 or more here lol. Can i have youtube links for a starter? Thank you and Happy Hols.
Chiggsglover: Summer things eh, I also look ooo. Just better to say nothing. I would be sad if they are not comfortable to dress light in the summer, hehe
I'm doing well o, how the Snow na.
Na look no say o lol, it hasnt snowed this month o which is very weird, we even have a cool warm weather this week (knocks the door 3 times) make i no jinx am ; . Please i have a question, your dreads, did you leave them without combing when you want them locked or you used sponge?
My hair naturally is very curly, i am thinking of locking my hair, $25 every month wan kill me
loveymom: I used an Air fryer to roast it, but you can use oven.
If you have air fryer, Wash and remove the plantain skin and make some incisions on it. Rub some salt (optional) and roast for first 15-20 mins, turn it and finish up 5-7 mins.
For oven Wash and remove the plantain skin and make some incisions on it. Rub some salt( optional) Preheat oven 370 Fahrenheit Line baking sheet on a baking tray, place the plantain and bake, turn it every 15 mins until it roast golden brown.
maternal: You're comparing making laws to reduce the spread of covid to making laws to oppress protestors, demanding not to be killed or exploited by their police force ? Those people were still on the streets because they were sick of being killed/disrespected by their government/ police force. Even so, they deserve to get killed ?
You love to blame the protestors, but don't have the same energy for the criminal politicians stealing the country's money everyday. Or the law enforcement agencies killing and exploiting the people they're suppose to protect. The citizens are lawless and worse than the government?
This is the issue with Nigerians. They're the most selfish people on earth. You talking this nonsense because you're not getting affected to a certain degree. If that bullet killed your child or family member, your tone would be different. The original poster is now being affected now he wants to leave. Before that he was as selfish as you.
You are on point, someone close to me lost his 4 sisters that night. That is why the country will never move forward when we have people like the nincompoop saying such.
Chiggsglover: Today is like the 5th or 6th day for a creating an Awareness about Gender abuse. Last week some girls raised Nude Privacy issue on Twitter here in the Irish Space.
If you can be identified, she could report you and sue for damages, especially in a work setting, the man could lose his job, women don't want to feel like objects. I have been stunned by the beauty I see when I walk, just feed your eyes, appreciate what God has created, in your mind, you know she's doing well and continue chasing your dream.
MackyNaija: Work from home don finish my life! This is equal to getting paid for doing "Nothing". I am thinking of how to start playing video games from my work desk, dust don gather for my ps4 after 6months.
Omo, yankee sweet abeg. The thought of the better life should be enough to get people fired up! and get them Moving!
Six months ago, I had 5 problems, solving only one would have been a Huge achievement - Get Certified Leave California get a New Job with Higher Job Title make More Money
I achieved 5 outta 6 - Certified by the world recognized body for quality, got a new job as a Senior Engr with a 12% salary increase, then added and solved problem number 6! because once problems finish, you need to create a new one and solve it! That how I inherited sweet problem number 6.
Your post reminds me of captain Henry Avery words. He said and I quote “ I am a man of fortune and I must seek my fortune”. Congrats man and keep soaring.
Petyprincess: Ha I'm not good at giving receipe but i will try
Ingredients 1 tuber of yam 1 big mackerel(titus fish) Ugwu Tomatoes and scotch bonnet(ata rodo) Known seasoning and salt. Palm oil
Preparations I boiled my fish with seasoning and salt and cooked it for 10 minutes when it's done i put it in bowl, removed the bones and mashed the fish into pieces nd i have my fish broth(water i got from my cooked fish) i kept it because it's important and adds lots of flavor to it.
I usually blend my tomatoes and pepper while sometimes i slice it, you can choose whichever method you prefer.
I got my clean pot, i added my cut yam(I usually cut it to smaller pieces so it can be easier to smash ) i added my palm oil, seasoning cube, salt, fish broth, smashed fish and sliced onions and added alot of water that it covered it top of my yam by doing this you assured you would not be adding water later. So literally i added all ingredients except my ugwu, I usually add ingredients from the beginning so it can penetrate my yam while sometimes will cook the ingredients b4 putting the yam.
Then i put it on gas and i usually cook for 40 minutes depending on yam texture, hard yam takes longer though. After 40 minutes i checked my yam nd could see the yam looking soft and my yam ingredients have penetrated i added my washed ugwu nd close it for 5 minutes then our yam is ready to get smashed!!
I usually use medium turning stick depending on quantity, I start smacking my yam gently because if you do it roughly the water will splash on you. I start smashing it together until my desired texture, some prefer their pottage with no traces of some solid yam while i prefer mine with some yam to grab when i got my desired texture i turned everything smoothly and food is ready!!!
In case any typo error i didn't proof read, add to quickly write this b4 getting ready for work.
omo wahala for person wey wan cook porridge o, can you come cook it for me
