Stability AI has recently launched Stable Diffusion XL 1.0 (SDXL), an advanced open weights AI image synthesis model. This next-generation version excels at generating unique images from text descriptions, boasting greater detail and higher resolution compared to its predecessors in the Stable Diffusion series.

Similar to the release of Stable Diffusion 1.4 last August as an open-source project, SDXL also allows anyone with the appropriate hardware and technical expertise to freely download the SDXL files and run the model locally on their own machines.

The advantage of local operation means that users don’t need to pay for access to the SDXL model and reduces concerns regarding censorship. Moreover, the weights files, containing essential neural network data that enables the model to function, can be fine-tuned by hobbyists in the future to generate specific types of imagery.

For those who do not know, what you call ethnic groups in Nigeria are called nations in Europe.

There's nowhere in the world where the white man accepts domination from another white man in perpetuity.

It used to be so under the Roman empire and the like. Not anymore. The Communists tried it, dividing society into capitalists and proletariats, deluding themselves that ethnicity is effectively swept under the carpet, but what followed? The Communist edifices in Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, and the big brother, USSR, all collapsed, while the two Germans that are ethnically the same but split by communism vs capitalism were reunited. Such is the power of ethnic nationalism.

Czechoslovakia was made up of two ethnic groups, the Czech and the Slovakians. Both separated peacefully on 1st January 1993. The former is today 10.6 million people and the latter 5.4 million. Added together, they're not up to Lagos. Yet, they split for peace. Two masters can't be in the same house.

Yugoslavia in 1991 was 23.2 million, barely more than Lagos population. It broke into six countries same year - all along ethnic lines, namely: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia.

Then the big brother, USSR. It had, at least, the following ethnic groups identified by their languages:

Sit down there and be preaching unity in Nigeria as if you're the kindest gentleman on earth while you have no solution to the genocide in Southern Kaduna, the illegal but officially condoned arms in the hands of killer herdsmen roaming the country, and be condemning those better informed about the fact that the country is undergoing the strains of a forced union and should be peacefully restructured or let people go their separate ways.

In Europe, the two best examples of fairly stable multi-ethnic states are the UK and Switzerland. The former is led by reasonable men who permitted regional autonomy to the Irish, the Scots and the Welsh, while the English dominate Westminster. That's something some of us are asking for, but you're fighting against it in your own country wracked by ethnic crisis. Your own people are better off under oppression of fellow black men because your people have bad leaders who can't do better than their new internal colonisers.

The latter country, Switzerland, has four ethnic groups. Each of them rotates the presidency annually through seven cantons that constitute the federation units. All the four languages of the four ethnic groups are recognized as official languages and school languages to boot, namely: German, French, Italian, and Romansch that has just a few thousand speakers!

There's nowhere in the world where the Caucasians allow the domination of their group by another.

In Canada, Quebec is the only full French-speaking province, aside a little section of New Brunswick. The other seven provinces are English-speaking. Yet, Canada is bilingual for the sake of Quebec! And each of the provinces is largely self-governing.

Here we are in Nigeria, you have people arguing vehemently that a decrepit, structurally-flawed, and crisis-prone artificial contraption badly configured by the British only needs good people to survive. Why not centralise the powers of the British regions to London and see what happens?

On tuesday 27 April 2021 at about 0550hrs, distress call was received from the resident of kainuwa village via kware LG that some hoodlums enterred their village and rob one Alh Aminu Ibrahim. The villagers followed the footsteps of the suspects. On reaching one village called bela, they started beating people on sight and arrested six suspects from the village. Later police was called from kware division. The DPO instantly mobilize men to the scene and tookover the six suspected hoodlums. On their way back to the station, The villagers already make calls all over the area and angry mob who are predominantly residents of kware local government area attacked the DPO, burning tires and demanded same suspects to be handed over in order to lynch them. In an attempt to repel mob action , the Divisional Police Headquarters and one suspect was set ablaze by the angry mob. Burnt down five police vehicles includes that of the DPO.

Reinforcements was sent to Kware to unravel the circumstances that led to the unfortunate incident. However, delegation was led by the Commisioner of Police *CP Kamaldeen kola Okunlola fdc mnim,* for on the spot assessment of the unwanted act of mayhem caused by residents of Kware LG area.

The CP while addressing the district head of Kware local government area and other traditional rulers was deeply saddened regarding the unfortunate incident . He was at the same venue five days ago on farmiliarization tour and sought the maximum co-operation of the stakeholders . He urged the people of Kware local government area to be law abiding and help fish out the miscreants among the good people who are hellbent on exhibiting act of violence against the police. He further state that policemen were trained to defend themselves and the public, and if situation warrant, severe action will be taken .The Commissioner of Police states that all effort were put in place to subdue any act of mayhem against police and it's facilities.

He finally order thorough investigation to fish out perpetrators and bring them to book. Meanwhile the remaining suspected hoodlums were referred to state criminal and investigation department for further investigation.

Boko Haram killed 92 Chadian and 70 Nigerian soldiers in two separate terror attacks, officials said Tuesday.

Ninety-two soldiers were killed and 47 others injured when the insurgents attacked an army unit in Boma, a peninsula of Lake Chad, which borders Nigeria, local newspaper TchadInfo reported. President Idriss Deby Tuesday visited the site of the ambush to confirm the death toll, according to the report.

Across the border, in north-eastern Nigeria, dozens of soldiers were meanwhile feared dead after a similar ambush by Boko Haram, the defense ministry said Tuesday.

“The Nigerian military suffered some casualties in the unfortunate attack,” defense ministry spokesman John Enenche told journalists in the capital Abuja.

Enenche did not disclose the exact number of casualties, but local witnesses who spoke to dpa on the telephone placed the death toll at between 50 and 75 people.

Terrorists ambushed the soldiers near the town of Goneri in eastern Borno State on Monday, according to Enenche. The militants struck several military vehicles carrying explosives and ammunition, which caused a huge fire that in turn led to a high death toll, the spokesman added.

Boko Haram poses a steady threat to communities in the north-east of Nigeria and has also launched offensives in neighboring Chad, Niger and Cameroon.

Since 2009, tens of thousands of people have been killed by the terrorists in the region and an estimated 2.5 million people fled their homes.

The drug will allegedly provide effective treatment for COVID-19 patients with varying severity.

According to the agency’s statement, the drug prevents virus replication in cells and as a result, stops the inflammatory process caused by the virus.

Veronika Skvortsova, the agency’s head, said Mefloquine has to be combined with antibiotics for the maximum effect, allowing an increase in the concentration of antiviral agents in blood plasma and lungs.

Facebook has revealed how you can profit from its new GlobalCoin cryptocurrency, but be warned. It comes at an enormous upfront cost.

The social media giant plans on unveiling its cryptocurrency later this month and is giving outside parties a chance to get in on the action.

Raising a ton of cash
According to sources, Facebook is looking to sell 100 nodes on its GlobalCoin network for the price of $10 million each, which comes out to a cool $1 billion.

Facebook plans to use the funds generated from the sale of the nodes to back its cryptocurrency, which will be pegged to the US dollar in order to minimize volatility.

While details on how ownership of a node will generate revenue for its operator have not yet been released, the benefit of owning a GlobalCoin network node is that it guarantees a seat on the foundation governing the cryptocurrency.

Other possible foundation members include tech companies and financial firms that Facebook has been actively courting.

The exact nature of how the foundation will operate and oversee the network is still not known at this time.

Expansive reach and lack of decentralization
The creation of an outside foundation and the selling of 100 nodes to prospective foundation members mean that the GlobalCoin network will be more centralized than that of Bitcoin and most other cryptocurrencies.

“It’s incredibly disappointing to hear that they have come up with a plan where inclusion in the system costs $10 million per seat,” said Emin Gün Sirer, a computer science professor at Cornell.

“The entire point of blockchain is reducing barriers,” he added.

However, Facebook claims to be looking to create an outside foundation to oversee GlobalCoin in order to mitigate privacy and antitrust concerns; items which have haunted the company in recent years.

The potential scope of GlobalCoin is huge as Facebook plans on using it across its suite of apps, and the social media juggernaut boasts 2.3 billion users.
