Collione: Thanks for your feedback this is really helpful to me . For the inverter I decided to up my budget and stick with a firman transformer based 5kva. For the battery asides from your gurus in the house who make them can you recommend any other brands . This way I can weigh my options. While researching , cworth, blue carbon and taico keeps coming up as reliable and affordable. What's your take please Getting a transformer based inverter only adds to ur purchase cost and gives very little advantage over the transformerless one. Ur call though |

Jefferyzz: Be careful with that Felicity battery, u might b given a relabelled battery, buy battery from sellers here, plus Felicity battery no get smart BMS. Felicity inverter I bought last month is the transformer based 5kva ivps non hybrid variant for 600k. D hybrid variant will be more expensive but not close to 1m. Like 700-800k depending on the variant u pick. If you are going for the high frequency hybrid variant, Using 10mm cable is a waste of money too. Use 6mm or 4mm depending on the distance. Abi ooo. Already commented b4 seeing your post. The IVEM is around 500k last I asked |

5 solar panels 550w 105,000×5÷525,000
7.5khw felicity lithium battery 1,250,000
5kVA inverter felicity hybrid 395,000

Total money is 2,431,000 Ask for the brand of the panels, hope its not some alaba sticker types? Felicity 5kwh is more in keeping with the quote than the 7.5kwh Why 10mm dc cable seeing as u wud most likely have the panels connected in series? A 4mm or max 6mm cable sud suffice |

Elizkid: I bought this Sako 12v 1kva inverter today. What influenced my decision is the hope that I’d use its 40a ac charger to charge my lifepo4 battery. I didn’t want a modular setup where I’d buy inverter , controller, and ac charger separately. Would be too messy for me.
Now, I unboxed it, checked the manual, and saw this: (first paragraph of attached pic)
Does it mean I can’t charge a CWorth 100ah 12v lifepo4 battery with it?
Cause that’s the main point of me buying this inverter, and I’m already regretting the purchase.
Sako should have indicated this on the carton and not tuck it away in the manual. You dont have anything to worry about. Just put ur battery type to user and then set the bulk and float voltage to what u want |

Collione: My budget is 400k for a hybrid inverter 5kva 48v. Originally my installer quoted me 395k for a 5kva 48v felicity hybrid inverter but if just been worried because it's high frequency. I also got information from someone who told me to try blue power inverter that it's hybrid transformer based but I don't know anything about the product 395k for 5kva Felicity hybrid sounds suspicious! |

easyyoke: I hope this installation is for yourself and not for a client sha, cos when this inverter wahala starts, omo!
1. This nonsense inverter is extremely loud whether my load is 10W or 1000w. It is screaming in my ear all day. Very terrible extremely loud fans. 2. I got the 2kva own, once my load passes 1300w, the baba goes off immediately. Even at 0.8power coefficient, it should be able to power loads up to 1600w. I am wondering why they called it 2kva when it clearly cannot handle more than 1300w load 3. All of a sudden it doesn’t charge my battery more than 15A. I have done all the necessary settings. It seem to be misreading my battery voltage. Only when my battery is extremely low that it starts charging. Once my battery don reach 30% like this, it believes the battery is full and stops charging. Thank God I am only using it as a backup. Sako batteries are said to be good, but you see this their inverters, you are on your own Late to this discuss but I'd say from personal experience, the reason ur inverter wont carry a 1.3kw load may be cause of ur battery. Had the sms variant and my battery's bms of 100amps limited it. U may have an issue with ur charging settings, u sud call ur installer to check and if it doesn't work, use ur warranty. They have a better customer care than most of the other chinese makes |

ask4bk: Those are the complains i made. You'll need a BMS that can handle 1000A, and then batteries that can do 3-4C to hit 500-1000A. Why would u need 1000amps? Unless it's a high duty truck or performance car |

HeavenlyBang: It's only over the last two years that LFP has become popular for home energy storage, so it's not surprising that people aren't using it for cars yet.
This is a subject we've had plenty of discussions about on this very thread, as I wanted to replace one of my car batteries with an LFP one earlier this year. One of the key sticking points, unfortunately, was price.
But it's doable. There are lots of people using DIY LFP batteries on their cars on YouTube.
Batteries are batteries at the end of the day. You just need to make sure the thermals are fine and charge/discharge make sense.
There's the option of charging directly from your alternator. But then you rely on your alternator+cells to handle your LVD and HVD points, and risk cell damage due to overcharging.
If you introduce a BMS to handle charging, you then need to make sure it's one that can also handle the high instantaneous discharge rates needed to start a car (can get up to 600A).
Ultimately, it's doable. Try it out and get back to us Thinking about this, the LFP has better ability with high discharge current compared to its lead acid mate. Thinking a 12v50ah wud do much better to the 75ah equivalent in cars. Might just be a mobile jumpstarter kit to the lead battery |

KudozInteriors: Good day Solar Gurus
I hope you still remember me and the wahala I had after being defrauded and given a 2.5Kwh Sako lithium battery instead of a 5Kwh battery which I paid for.
GOOD NEWS: I’ve gotten my brand new 5Kwh battery.
Sako CEO got involved in the matter and promised me a new battery once their container comes back. She fulfilled her promise and I collected the battery yesterday. I must say that the customer service I received from Sako was premium and top notch.
The agent who defrauded me still tried every possible means to stop the company from giving me the battery. It was full blown war. He cooked up many lies and stories and tried to make the company believe that I and my technician are the fraud but the company looked through the whole smoke and saw the truth and gave me what I paid for. SAKO has won my heart shaa and I’ll advice anybody buying from them to go directly to the company. I have their direct link if anybody needs that though.
I want to specially thank everyone here who took their time and wealth of wisdom and experience to advise me on how to go about the stuff. Your advises paid off and I don't take it for granted. Thank you sooooooo much and God bless you all. May people that matter rise up and help you when you need them.
I also want to specially thank @Androblaze and @Dam5reey for the roles they played. @Androblaze took it upon himself to help me. We chatted and talked for long on WhatsApp on the way forward. He was always reaching out to know how far and to advise on the way forward. What a man! This issue taught me a lot and also made me believe more in humanity again. I stopped posting here since as I was advised to stop as my enemy might be reading my strategies from here too. @Androblaze, my brother, thank you sooo much and God bless you and raise people to help you when you need them.
Below is the picture of the new battery. It is way heavier and bigger than the first one.
Sincerely, I thank God that I met this beautiful community of people willing to help each other achieve Solar energy independence. I've learnt a lot here and I keep learning. THANK YOU PLENTY!
GOD BLESS YOU ALL. GOD BLESS SAKO.😊
JUSTICE WON!!! 💪😃😃🎉 Great news to hear. Sako has a wonderful customer care service which I can vouch for but this was really impressive. |

Obnoxious2001: If it's over estimating input PV power, it's likely a sensor error tolerance fault or a microcontroller based fault (it's usually a bug in the programme)
When you say battery is not charging, do you mean it's not pushing amps? Battery got drained while supposedly charging with the inverter. |

Trippledots: How about the charging, won't it over charge it? Naaa. Used a 3.5kva afripower for my lithium bank when my inverter had issues and it always stopped charging once the battery is full. Only issue is it's slow as max charge current was 15amps and it wud drain the battery, mine got to 10% before it started beeping which was around 43 or so volt and had to switch off |

fuckboys: no, I was still under the recommended voltage of the cc for 12v system.
Total voltage was around 64v
4pcs of cworth panels connected in 2p s 2p
Each pv has a max voltage of 31.6v Its not by this calculation sir. U sudnt be doing more than 2 of ur panels on this CC which is 800v |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Drgreatone: 7:27pm On May 12, 2025 |
Iinnov8: Regarding the emboldened; did you want to refer to VoC limit of the controller, considering the battery voltage (12v)?
If yes, then I doubt that is the issue here because the VoC of each of his panels is less than 40v and he is on a 2s2p connection, keeping the VoC of the panels less than 80v, the recommended VoC for a 12v system It works 2 ways boss. The VOC and also max panels for each battery voltage. For a 12v system, the max VOC is 80v and the panels is 720w. U can go slightly above it and still be safe but not recommended to overdo it. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Drgreatone: 8:53pm On May 10, 2025 |
BigDickProblems: And look at what the high voltage has caused. He could have gotten 12volts panel and the appropriate cable for the set charging current. His problem was from using more panels than specified for the battery voltage. Even if you want to go above the limit, dont over do it cos u wud end up likely having issues |
|
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Drgreatone: 8:43pm On May 10, 2025 |
BigDickProblems: Yeah. To be frank you should have gone with 180Watts or 200watts panels that are originally for 12v system. Just parallel them and set that ampere to the required charge current in your controller.
Try using your PWM to wake it up, if it’s still available. This isn't the ideal if using an mppt. Higher voltage means more efficiency in performance and cost in terms lesser guage wires |

Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Drgreatone: 6:49pm On Apr 22, 2025 |
olopan: Hello!
You will need a 5kVA/6kVA inverter hybrid (Deye, Growatt, Tbb) or conventional type (victron, Tbb, felicity) if you need to run both the AC and pump simultaneously
But if you plan to be self-conscious and know you won't run both together, then going for 3.5 kVA is a better choice.
For the ideal solar power, you will need around 6,500 Wp of solar panels (Jinko, JA, Longi, Canadian) and a 120A solar charge controller.
Battery choice (Vestwoods, Deriy, Pylonytech, Growatt)
Lastly, with your budget i see things coming together in a 3.5 kVA range, especially when inverter, solar panels and BOS are all factored in.
quote author=Ahyjo post=135077118]Hello experts in the house. I’ve been following all the discussions diligently especially the recent ones with regard to the lithium batteries. I am about to upgrade my system to be able to take a 1.5HP AC and also my 1HP submersible pump. Please I need your advice on the appropriate inverter to get ( both KVA (minimum required) and brand ) , the best lithium battery (14-15kwh) and CC (if the suggested inverter is not hybrid), and lastly the appropriate PV array. Thank you. As we all know these things don’t come cheap, so it’s better for one to do due diligence before investing in them, and there’s no better place to get appropriate information like here. Please advise me based on experience and not brand specifications.

fuckboys: Some of you don't ven know how mppt works
First image at just 8:30am cc is getting 55.6V from the panels and delivering 164w of power.
Second image , the cc is actually charging the battery at 13.3v and 13.1amps.
So you can see the high pvc voltage doesn't matter so long you stay within the parameters of the cc You both saying the same thing. There is a reason the manufacturer put VOC limit to each battery voltage ie 12/24/48v as its based on their research |

GloryJoyeux: Hi,
For panels:
Jinko 440w x 12 = 5,280w Cworth 500w x 10 = 5,000w
Total 10,280w
Average sustained production per hour when skies are almost clear of clouds is 8,150wh
For batteries:
51.2v x 486ah (the max I am willing to discharge) = 24.8kwh
Bms is Jk with communication board and 2Amp active balancer
Full charge 55v, float at 54.9v
For inverter:
6kw Deye SUN-6K-OG01LP1-EU-AM2.
It use to be a 10.2kw sms, but i have documented my dissatisfaction with it, so I got the Deye instead. Besides, I realised I dont use more than 4kw at a time, and if eventually I will need more than 6kw at a time, I can always parallel the deye with another deye 6kw inverter to get 12kw.
For monitoring:
1. Inbuilt deye wifi for Deye cloud 2. Solarman 3. Solar Assistant Raspberry Pi 5
Current Load (they are not all turned on at the same time):
Average total daily load is 25kw - 30kw (24hrs)
13kw - 15kw is average night time load (7pm - 7am)
