TechGeek777: Bro, get SMS it's cheaper and better IMO.
SMS Now have four Chinese repairers in Alaba, according post I sae yesterday from their official Facebook page.
Nominal Voltage Range: 240v(for 12v/24v/48v)
12v PV Voltage Range: 30v - 400v(same as max voc)
24v PV Voltage Range: 60v - 450v 48v PV Voltage Range: 60v - 450v
Max Voc(500vdc) for 24v & 48 respectively That's nice. Use a 2kv12v sms inverter and it's bin doing just fine. Had issues with the fan always on most of the time when working but recently decided to clean my anti-dust kit. Was so dusty but after cleaning ,fan just comes on occasionally. 2ndly noticed it wasnt always charging my battery well esp when input is around 200-300w (was using 3 300w panels that increasingly looks fake) but then guess thats why its hybrid. I added 2 more (fake)panels to take the pv volt over 150v and it charges better once I'm getting 350w upwards. Hoping to get original panels to swap the fakes and see just ow well it wud perform |

Sapiosexuality: To those running solar, I'm just curious. When last did you use your generator? Did you have to sell it after installing your solar? Not sure i av put it on this year at all. Just serviced the gen 2/12 ago and placed it in the store to be breathing. Almost put it on around that nationwide blackout but it was restored before i did |

Dam5reey: Well, going by 10KWH LFP Sunking, 3.5KVA, and 4500W panels, for 11M is not bad, similar prices on Sumec Fireman, Pylontech Fouani LG, and co. Unless those sunkings are crazily expensive... The 3.5kva inverter and panels no reach 3m na |

I have come again ooo with my inverter palaver. Finally added 2 300watt panels to make 1500watts on my 12v hybrid and input went up to 550watts from 350 at peak hours. However i know from small geography and online gist that the sun move from east to west but which one is now sun that was facing my panel when I install initially is now behind it. My roof is south facing by the way. Pls when wud the sun come around too if u know 🤣🤣🤣🤣 |

Jefferyzz: SMS hybrids are decent,I have installed 2 this year and no fault so far. I'll advise u look into 24v rather than 12v. Max Ur battery will charge is 960w What do u mean by ur last sentence? Not clear |

ebrymDIY: Hello Guyz, I just needed a professional opinion on this. I currently have a 12V system with 1000W(4X250) PV in use for about 3years connected to 2 220AH tubular with a 60A CC. Experience has been good but I'm thinking of upgrading to a Hybrid system. Reasons been that I want to do it in phases myself. Base on the research in this thread i was able to drill down to the following hardwares:
SMS Hybrid Inverter 2kva/ 2000W 12V (Mppt 80A) 625W X 4 Jinko PV due to space.
However, based on my research, I'm skeptical about the inverter ability to handle the energy from the panel or go the route of upgrading to a 24V system with 120A CC with same amount of panels due to space.
My questions are: 1. Has anyone used that Inverter and whether it can stand test of time. 2. Based on the ratings I've seen for the inverter being 4000W for PV, with it be able to handle future PV addition. 3. Would you advice upgrade the system to a 24V system with 120A CC.
NB: Everything is within a budget and can't exceed but has been prioritized.
All opinions are welcome. Does ur present system charge ur batteries full? Guess u combined batteries in parallel. How did they combine the panels for you? Is the CC Pwm or mppt? Max a 60amp wud take theoretically is 720w and u using 1000w of panels To answer ur question 1) Its actually 2kva/1600watt inverter. 3mths old now and doing its work. Comes wit 1 year warranty 2) The max panels u can use is 3000watts 3) why do u want to change ur CC. Is ur present specs not carrying ur load. Since u already av 2 batteries, I'd advice u just get a standalone 24v inverter, change ur battery to series and add more panels to ur CC |

durodee: I will advice you STRONGLY not to sell. You will not be able to get it at the price you sold it if you need it back . Moreover, you won't have any backup in case anything happens. Find money for your upgrade. You will have reasons to remember this advice in the future. I'd keep mine if i was in his shoes too but then he knows whats best for him |

obinna37: thank you so much for this, many people are afraid to buy hybrid inverter because of difficulty of repair I have my shortcomings with hybrid based on my experience. If its a 12v system, I'd advice standalone systems. Advantage of the hybrid is it wud take more panels compared to it's standalone charge controller eg my 12v hybrid can take up to 2500 watts yet the mppt won't go above 720w theoretically |

adeshina36: Good evening
Please I have this kind of configuration setup in my apartment
5kva 24v Inveter 400Watts Solar panels (5) 220ah battery (2) 60amps charger
My question is whenever I try charging with Nepa light o shows it fully charged within few minutes but when it’s on resting stage meaning when it not connect to any form of charge and I check the battery I get 77% even while on solar it shows it fully charged but at the end of the day I see 75% please how can I get it charged to 100% or should I just ignore the fact that it say fully charged and continue charging please any help would be appreciated. Thank you 🙏🏾 The 75% u are getting could be a factor to voltage sag common with tubular batteries. Could also be a factor of the load u put on it |

Trippledots: You put about 2.5kva load on your lead acid battery?!!!
How are we even sure the panels capacities are real, the size of PV cables are optimal, etc
Your installer didn't give you Dos and Don'ts for your type of system Abi na those type of installers wey de promise 24hrs on top 2 battery....wahalad.
Let me give you some tips for this battery 1. Ideally You shouldn't load your batteries more than about 500watts.
2. You should not use your battery below 50% which is roughly around that 24v you are seeing.
3. Ensure electrolyte level is within range using the hydrometer screwed on it.
4. Ensure your battery charges till float after every deep discharge That 55% wud drain his batteries to 50% in less than an hour. Reduced lifespan too for the batteries as he's drawing almost 50amps from each battery. Perfect recipe for failure. He needs to sit his installer down to explain what he did and how to pamper his system. |

Ow long do u run it before it reaches 50% (24.0v)? |

walexsos: Its 38v that is on the panel while i get 103 for the 3s combination.....note ...i am not an installer if my answers aint adequate enough If ur panels VOC is 145, then u can still do a 4s connection. U already at the upper limit of what ur charge controller can take so adding panels wud be putting it at risk. It cant take more than 3300watts and u already on 3600watts already. Does ur battery get full during the day? Ow much is ur total loads during the day/night? U may av to upgrade ur charge controller to 80a/100a if u are to add more panels. A lithium battery wud be a good replacement as it can take a higher charge current but this wud only make sense if ur present battery bank is weak already/needs replacement. |

TechGeek777: Growatt is far better, heard Gennex is not too good with warranty on their inverters.
If you are not getting VICTRON, get DEYE, but if Deye is above you budget, get GROWATT, if Growatt is still above your budget get SRNE.
Any high frequency inverter outside above 4 mentioned inverters, just get SMS Sunmate Inverter if going for 24v or 48v.
NB: iPowerPlus 5kva is still good if going for low frequency inverter. Must inverters nko? |

Thanks |

isangjohnson: I used HSI and Zumax. If the panels are well oriented and the correct size wire was used, then the charging system of the hybrid inverter is the issue. I had an issue with of one of the hybrid inverters I installed for a customer and suspected it was related to float bulk.. I was unable to get an acceptable margin of float bulk that could comfortably charge the Lfp battery to full. When I set it to the range of 13.8v to 14v, about 9a or thereabouts was coming in from the pv but when I pushed the setting further to about 14.8v, I was seeing 25a and above. I couldn't charge the Lfp battery with 14.8v and I later introduced my spare 60a epever Mppt external CC into it and everything was in order. Yes, they facing south and are connected in series with a 6mm wire. Tried ur settings but nil change. At a point was getting abt 180w from the panels but only abt 5a is going into the battery. Highest amps gotten since av gotten it was around 11a and that was when no loads on it and abt 350w from the panels. Bin advised to get an extra panel and if no change, wud get the external CC. |
