Absolute trash! you're encouraging incompetence right?? There is no where in the world were such level of negligence to duty is pardoned. Mistakes ko. people make mistakes in exam and yet they are still failed. As a pharmacist, if i dispense the wrong medication to your loved one leading to loss of life. will you pardon me for such?

Sohuh because they beat England in the last Euro that makes them the best team in the world. England is rubbish and besides, a small team could upset a big team in a tournament, that wouldn't mean they are better. Nigeria go flog Iceland abi na Icecream be their name sef.

If you were Germany, would you rather have Nigeria in your group? The truth is, no team wants to have the super eagles in their group because it's like having a pot 1 or 2 team in pot 4. That is literally having 4 teams with qualifying uncertainty.

Yeah exactly.. but i ain't pleased with Shehu, although he played well but dude should have fallen when he got an headbutt from Brahimi. For Pete's sake, this is basic in football.. He did well trying to implicate him but just fall, that's it.. He didn't act like a very intelligent player to me. seriously disappointed angry

For me, the positive to take away from the game was the siege mentality gradually coming back to the Super Eagles.
This team is showing signs of maturity with people stepping up to take leadership when it matters most.

In recent past, the Super Eagles would have been bullied by these Algerians. I mean, at the last world cup , we took weak characters who couldn't fight for each other. They were all smiles and watched Onazi get bullied and kicked out of the game.
I am happy this present team have the character to fight for one another! I loved the way Balogun removed his mask and threatened to pull out Brahimi's eyes when the Algerians threatened to go gangster on us. I loved the way the team came to the rescue of Iwobi when he went toe to toe against the Algerian defender.

This was the character I admired about the Mourinho Chelsea team and even the Pep Guardiola's Barcelona side, Arsenal invisibles. Football is beyond kicking a ball around the pitch.
Show of strength and character in the face of intimidation is the hallmark of a great team.
My best comment today. i love you bro, no homo. These eagles love themselves, and that character will take them places. They can't be intimidated or bullied. I'm waiting for Argentine friendly. wink

Phenomenal. That one is not even a debate. From the first to second half, Ogu was the most consistent player behind Brahimi. From the start of the game, he stood out and he is clearly the best defensive midfielder I have seen in years play for the Super Eagles when it concerns all round play.

Goke7:
Some lessons so far on our failed world cup attempts from responses so far include

1. Stick to the coach that qualifies you for the world cup cos you you need that strong bond between the coach and the players who have been working tirelessly together.
2. Do not discard half or majority of the players that qualified you for the world cup as it affects team spirit and you end up with players in the world cup who are strange bed fellows. Case in point keshi despite qualifying for the world cup and going to the world cup ended up with players who were not really used to each other. This may be the reason Mikel rejected the inclusion of ramon azeez [though unprofessional of mikel] in the game against France.
3. Go with at least 90% of your players who qualified you for the world cup. case in point USA 94 team. If you must bring in new players, very very few however there seems to be strong cases for the inclusion of Kayode Olanrewaju, Henry Onyekwuru and Sone aluko to the team. They are not strangers to the Eagles as they have been invited before.
4. Nff need to sort out issues of bonus and players welfare on time. I heard before the end of this year, Nff will meet with the players to tell them how much they will earn during the world cup next year. Good one I must say.
5. Quality warm up games for the team, perhaps warm up games against Germany and Yugoslavia brought out the best of Nigeria against Spain in France 98.
6. We must check over confidence from the players, case in point is one of the reasons we lost the Denmark game in 1998 as the players were already thinking about brazil when they haven't finished with Denmark
7. We must check players who tend to be selfish in the game, result against argentina in the 2010 world cup would have been different if the likes of martins were not selfish in their play. Okocha was another culprit in past world cups. Victor Moses need to be checked on this. Players in better position must be given the ball for clinical finishes in front of goal like we saw against zambia with Iwobi's goal. This could decide games.
8. Team selection must be based on those who are hungry for the team success and not those who just want to appear as some big players have failed to turn up on the big occasions, e.g. Yekini of blessed memory and Okocha.
9. Good mix of youthful and experienced players. One of the reasons we failed in the 2002 world cup was the way we discarded experienced players who were still in form and hungry. Thank God Rohr had admitted that it was the mix of young and experienced players that achieved qualification. So those who feel the likes of Mikel, musa, onazi, echiejile even omeruo are not relevant may need to have a rethink. One advantage of the crop of young players we have now like iwobi, iheanacho, ekong and co is that by the next world cup, they will be very experienced players.
10. Updated FIFA rules must be understood by players and coaches to avoid naive situations. Reason we even failed to qualify in 2006 as we knew nothing about head to head rule. This also showed in 1994
11. The technical bench assisting the coach need to have a good balance of competent and experienced hands that will complement the coach technically. e.g. in 2014 world cup the technical team that won the afcon in 2013 was overhauled without coach kehsi's consent which in turn affected the balance of the team from what we saw in afcon earlier.
Welldone Mr Goke7. Please as an example also to point 10, add the incidence when Ighalo revealed Thank you Jesus inscription on his inner shirt after he scored against Cameroon. That fetched him a yellow card, that could jeopardize team effort in world cup in a scenero were he is previously booked.. The guy sef dey follow ref argue not knowing fifa rule has changed.

Do you have a team that can go toe to toe with Germany,Portugal,Germany or Spain. You barely escaped a defeat from a Zambian side that paraded mostly locally based players. We dont have a team that can reach the semi finals as it stands right now.
lol this is really a funny comment. To your question, yes we have a team that can stand toe to toe with Germany, Spain etc. Football is a game of 11 players.. most of those European teams you mentioned may not qualify if pitted against Cameroon, algeria and Zambia. FYI no team is ready for world cup yet, we are just in preparatory stage and will get better before the mundial, but that's not a yardstick to insinuate we don't have a team. You are looking down on these guys, but you will be shocked later on. Besides, the game against Zambia was an important decider so the players where a bit jittery, believe me even Brazil would struggle against zambia in such situations.. Remember it took Kane's individual brilliance to score the goal that took England to Russia against tiny Scotland.. If we repeat that Zambia match now, the soreline would surprise you.

The term consistency in football is not measured has a short term measurement.

At the moment KC has lost confidence, is far from consistent and is a shadow of his former self. Right now the hottest young striker in the premiership is TEGA ABRAHAMS no contest.

If he continues at this level of progress he will be in the £75 million price level. Chelsea are regretting not putting a call back clause on his loan move if not he would be in Chelsea as first choice striker.
Tammy Abraham as first choice striker over Morata presently? Oga please give your life to Christ nau!

It's not foolishness but the reality.

We do not have automatic data capture at birth in Nigeria, when some countries have pre-birth data in addition.

That means you have to rely on the integrity of the individual and collective society as a whole. I know that it's near established practice in the public sector to declares official age. This practice is not exclusive to public sector but it is in every facet of life in Nigeria. So let's not pretend, I personally know a large number if ex international players who shaved of between 5- 12 years off thier age. It worked for them it worked for the club everybody made money so everyone is happy, no problem. So you will never see me expose anybody.

Unfortunately in football and in Europe irrational value is placed on youth that if you are older by a few years you can be cut out as being not good enough and or being too old.

The fault lies with the obsessive quest for Youth in the football by industry particularly in Europe.

I have met people in Nigeria, who got married to ladies that were older than them unknowingly. And when they found out it was too late pikin don enter. They just found a way to make it work.
So what is your point now? That we should keep screaming fowl play and disgracing ourselves to the world each time an individual declares their agehuh whether true or not we should try to respect this players since we can't tell their real age, if you have proof c'mon go ahead cause you have my support but if not if should just try to mind our business. we ain't their parents!

forgiveness:
In regards to Obagoal, Ike Uche and Odenwinge, I think they are very good and you are sure to get a goal with these guys.

Unfortunately, when these players were banging in goals left right center in Europe our bad belle coaches decided to drop them for lesser strikers.

However, if these three players are still banging in goals left right and center, I don't mind they are invited to the National team because we don't have any inform young striker in the best leagues in Europe and in the National team that can lace their shoes.

As it being that Kelechi and Kayode (because they are the only two consistent prolific strikers playing at the highest level) are banging in goals left right and center, I don't need to even think about these men but because as sand sand don pass garri, I will prefer Martins and ike Uche if they continue to score goals for their clubs. I don't know about Odenwinge.

However, I think we can split the three slots for the striker to three categories.

I. For informed experienced striker
II. For a mixed of both informed young and experienced striker
II. For very young informed striker

Based on these categories,

Category 1

Odion Ighalo - 14 goals and 3 assists (25 games in CSL)

Obafemi Martins - 7 goals and 3 assists (12 games in CSL)

Osaze Odenwinge 13 goals and 5 assists out of 18 games in Indonesia)

Ikechuckwu Uche 5 goals and 0 assist out of 8 games in the la Liga 2

Brown Ideye clubless

Anthony Nwakaeme 0 goals and 1 assist out of 5 games in Israel

Category 2

Ahmed Musa - EPL
Kayode Olanrewaju - LA Liga
Aaron Samuel - Russia
Ebere Paul Onuachu - Denmark
Simeon Nwankwo - Seria A

Category 3

Kelechi Iheanacho
Tammy Abraham
Cyriel Dessers
Dominic Solanke
Dennis Bonaventure
Peter Olayinka
Taiwo Awoniyi
Osimhen
Sadiq Umar

Based on current form and pedigree of leagues, please choose one from each categories, we are good to go.

Please, no sentiments and give reasons. grin
I will choose Ighalo from cat 1, then Iheanacho and Tammy Abraham from cat 3. i don't fancy any player in category 2

My preferred starting line-up and formation for now. Mikel playing as a CM will be able to offer some defensive support also and also do very well as regards combining with Iwobi to orchestrate chances and keep the midfield in control. Iwobi can thrive very well with Mikel's presence in the midfield and Mikel doing one of the things that he is known for, and that is initiating attacks. V.Moses and S.Moses are also good defensively therefore balancing defensive and offensive play.
Iffa tear u slap, you wee remove echiejile from that list and add aina. lol grin
