In case you didn’t know, May is Masturbation Month, which means it’s time to get your right hand busy, gentlemen. It’s an entire month dedicated to jerking off, and we should all be celebrating it.

A long, long time ago, masturbation was thought to be a sinful and horrible activity that somehow caused unlikely health problems, such as blindness, acne, and hemorrhoids. Haha. It’s funny how wrong that is.

But luckily, we have science on our side, and we can confidently crush any rumors that say masturbation is bad for you. Thanks to scientific research, we have a lot of data that proves masturbating has a lot of health benefits, and is really, really good for you, despite what naysayers believe.

So, in honor of Masturbation Month, here are six reasons why you should treat yourself to a nice five-fingered grip, all backed by science.

1. It makes you happy.
As you already know, getting off feels great, and in turn, it brightens your mood! When you rub one out, your brain gets treated to a delicious cocktail of neurotransmitters including dopamine and oxytocin, which lifts your mood and makes you feel happy and satisfied

“An orgasm is the biggest non-drug blast of dopamine available,” says clinical sexologist Dr. Gloria Brame. “A brain scan of someone having an orgasm looks like a heroin addict’s.”

Hmm...in case that “heroin addict” comparison freaked you out a little, let me put your worries to rest – a heroin addict’s brain gets flooded with dopamine when they shoot up, which is why they feel so incredible when they’re high. Both parties were however freed after some prayers and the man involved agreeing to pay 20000 Kenyan shillings ($225).

Penile CAPTIVUS as defined by the international society for sexual medicine (ISSM) is a condition that ocçurs when a man is unable to withdraw his penis from a woman's​ vagina due to orgasmic pelvic muscular contractions against n engorged penis.
This is very rare in humans, although few cases ve been noted.
In 1933 Walter Stoeckel in a gynecological manual speculated that this condition affects only adulterous couples engaged in illicit sex, that fear of getting caught may contribute to the force of the woman's​ contraction resulting​ in severe vaginismus. Though recent reports of possible events across Nigeria, Kenya, Malawi, Zimbabwe have been seen among adulterous couples, this view is no longer held by modern day scholars.

MAGUN is a Yoruba term which literally mean "do not climb" or "do not touch".
It is a legendary curse or spell invoked on unfaithful partners by their suspecting spouse. It is believed that if a person afflicted with this curse has illicit sexual intercourse, either the man or the woman or both parties will suffer in any of the following ways
1. The victim will crow like a cock or vomit blood (o ma ke bi adiye)

2. The victim keeps drinking water till death (Omi orun)

3. The male geñitals gets stuck in the female (won lepo)

Modern science has tried to disprove this çlaim, especially the 3rd outcome of getting stuck. Citing penile CAPTIVUS and post coital stroke as possible reasons, but most African people especially some traditional Yorubas do not believe in post coital stroke.
Victims are often subjected to intimidation, abuse and physical assault.
In one incident recently at Iwowo in Ogun state were the both parties died after illicit sex, a police officer said "I think it must be MAGUN placed on the woman by either the husband or someone else.

Most people often confuse MAGUN with penile CAPTIVUS, and in West Africa were most shortcomings are often attributed to some spiritual gymnastics, one may often pass medical problems as being spiritual, hence the refusal to seek medical help, which often results in death of the said party.

Study: Ejaculate More, Have Less Prostate Cancer Risk
Are Frequent Ejaculators Bacchanalian?

A study on ejaculation and prostate cancer risk, which made a big splash at last year's annual meeting of the American Urological Association (AUA), was published online March 29 in European Urology.

The publication provides greater detail on the main finding: that men might be able to lower their risk for prostate cancer by ejaculating frequently.

"This large prospective study provides the strongest evidence to date of a beneficial role of ejaculation in prevention of prostate cancer," write the researchers, led by Jennifer Rider, ScD, MPH, a cancer epidemiologist at the Boston University School of Public Health.

However, another expert threw the requisite cold water on any firm conclusion.

"Association does not mean causation, so one has to be cautious about interpretation," Janet Stanford, PhD, MPH, a prostate cancer researcher at the Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Center in Seattle, who was not involved in the study, said about the observational data.

The data come from 31,925 men in the prospective Health Professionals Follow-up Study, who were followed from 1992 to 2010. The average age of the men in 1992 was about 59 years.

During the 18-year follow-up, 3839 men were diagnosed with prostate cancer, and 384 of those cases were lethal.

In a 1992 questionnaire, men were asked to report their average monthly ejaculation frequency during three periods: age 20 to 29 years, age 40 to 49 years, and the previous year.

After potential confounders were controlled for in multivariate analyses, the relative risk for prostate cancer was about 20% lower in men who ejaculated at least 21 times a month than in men who ejaculated four to seven times a month. For high-frequency ejaculators, this risk reduction was seen in all three time periods (P trend < .0001 for all).

After the results were first reported at the AUA meeting, the study received a lot of mainstream news coverage, Dr Rider noted. But in some of the reporting, the emphasis was on the men who ejaculated at least 21 times per month, she explained.

It is true that risk reduction was more pronounced in high-frequency ejaculators than in lower-frequency ejaculators, she acknowledged. (Too few men reported zero to three ejaculations per month, so those reporting four to seven ejaculations per month served as the reference group.)

However, there was a significant relative risk reduction of 10% in men who reported eight to 12 ejaculations per month at 40 to 49 years, and of 20% in men who reported 13 to 20 ejaculations at 40 to 49 years (P trend < .0001).

In an interview with Medscape Medical News last year, Dr Rider warned against overemphasizing the high-end numbers.

"We shouldn't dwell on the exact numbers of ejaculation, but instead should focus on the dose–response relation," Dr Rider advised at that time.

She summarized: "Safe sexual activity could be good for prostate health."

Notably, there was no association between ejaculation frequency and high-grade, advanced, or lethal disease. The reason for this exception is not known.

The risk reduction effect seen in the study is "modest," according to Dr Rider's team and Dr Stanford. And they acknowledge that other studies have pointed to sexual activity as a possible modifiable risk factor for prostate cancer development.

The men with the highest frequency of monthly ejaculations (at least 21) "are an interesting group," Dr Rider told Medscape Medical News this week.

They ate more calories than men who ejaculated less frequently, drank more alcohol, contracted more sexually transmitted diseases (gonorrhea and syphilis), and were more likely to be smokers or exsmokers, she reported.

They were was also less likely to have undergone prostate-specific antigen screening.

All of these factors concerned the researchers. They point out that these men "had some exposure patterns that might put them at higher risk of mortality and morbidity due to other causes."

"We were concerned that the reduction in prostate cancer risk we observed in this group might be attributable to premature death from other causes among men who may have had undiagnosed prostate cancer," they explain.

But using a "model of semi-competing risks," the researchers found that the reduction in prostate cancer risk in high-volume ejaculators "seemingly cannot be explained" by any premature death from other causes alone.

Dr Stanford was impressed with the thoroughness of the research.

"The analyses were comprehensive and considered alternative explanations for the observed inverse association," she summarized in an email to Medscape Medical News.

Dr Stanford called the study data "high quality," and said she is excited about possible mechanisms of action to be investigated in the future.

"These interesting results should stimulate more research on how ejaculation may alter the prostate microenvironment," she noted.

The researchers speculate what could be at work, mechanically, and offer one explanation: the prostate might accumulate potentially carcinogenic secretions that can lead to prostate cancer. This idea, known as the prostate stagnation hypothesis, has been around for decades, Dr Rider reported.

That theory might have parallels in folk wisdom. When these results were reported last year, a Medscape reader commented that the results make common sense, and urged his fellow male readers to "keep the pipes clean boys!"

Dnt confuse the OP sir. Seborrheic dermatitis is not d same tin as tinea versicolor. While the previous is also referred to as dandruff, the later is a variant of hypo pigmented fungal skin infection.
And the picture has nothing to do with tinea or seborrheic dermatitis, rather a poor skin hygiene dat has resulted in a wide spread acne like condition. Proper skin hygiene is the way forward.

I woke up this morning on the first day of March 2016 to the sound of a preacher on my transistor radio condemning corrupt politicians. And further went on to say how most of ur christian Shepherds shield em.
As he continued speaking i was wishing that this morning in the government house, that our governor Chief Barr Nyesom Wike is listening. But how will he? He recently won the supreme Court case as the dully elected governor of rivers state and has done a total of four Thanksgivings at different churches. Now it's good to thank God for his blessings, but our governor has got it wrong dis time. As someone in support of his government, it's right for me to say wen he is driving on the wrong lane.
I never paid much attention to his Thanksgiving speeches until the recent one at Salvation Ministries. In his speech he said that his blood pressure was 240/110mmhg, during the times at court, and now it has gone down to 110/80. So he will never forgive d pple dat made his blood pressure rise dat God shud make theirs 240/110 and the pple in church, gullible and misguided so called Christians were clapping and saying amen. He was ranting in church and I was disappointed. But first after d first Thanksgiving, wat was d need for the second, third and fourth? Why can't our churches stop accommodating such? Of course they wouldn't. They wouldn't because the governor won't leave there without dropping public funds in their purse. Same public funds dats being used to host other PDP stalwarts that would grace the occasion. These things don't happen in a civilised society. One Thanksgiving is enough. But the second, third and fourth? No. When he approached the second church, the Shepherd would ve told him that the first one was enough. But if he wants to cme and fellowship without any microphone ranting then he is welcomed. Not to cme and take people's time ranting on how you will deal with ur oppositions and beam with their shouts of amen.
But no, our leaders will continue to waddle in corrupt waters, and our churches will continue to shield em. It was at this point that Jesus Christ went in the temple and chased out the Shepherds saying that the temple of God is not a place for transactions and corruption.
