Politics › Re: A Section Of Yorubas Are Playing Dangerous Tribal Politics by drlateef: 7:50am On Oct 31, 2022 |
Vote4Obi: The show of shame about afenifere endorsing Tinubu is bad and reprehensible in Nigeria's politics. Some people do not weigh their actions on a scale of justice but would choose to act selfishly when it favours them and cry blue murder when it does not.
Let's face this issue holistically, on what basis would afenifere endorse Tinubu?
Is it that Yorubas haven't been represented enough at the helm of affairs since 1999?
Do we talk about Tinubu's obvious physical and mental health challenges?
Recently, Arewa consultative forum invited the 3 major presidential candidates to Kaduna, the defacto capital of Northern Nigeria and gave them equal treatment. The 3 candidates were able to address Northerners and Peter Obi, a Southerner was even given a standing ovation by the Northern audience!
Arewa is to Northern Nigeria what Afenifere is to SW, and Ohanaeze to SE. If Ohanaeze should make such ethnocentric endorsement, it would be argued on the merit that SE has never had either a president nor vice president since 1999 and justice demands they're allowed to do so. It is also important to note that Afenifere also agitated against similar injustice done to Yorubas with the annulment of 1993 elections MKO won. In 1999, two Yorubas emerged in the two major parties to compensate them.
So, I ask again, on what grounds did Afenifere make such odious, shameless and hypocritical endorsement on Tinubu? Just because he is a fellow Yoruba man?
So, Afenifere is now calling Arewa fools? If Arewa had invited just Atiku alone and endorsed him in Kaduna, just like Afenifere did, the same people would have cried bitterly.
I hope Nigerians are taking note of all that is happening today. The same bigots who don't see anything wrong in this insensitive act are those that target Obi and profile his supporters as IPOB. Everything about them is tribalism and ethnocentrism.
Well, except Northerners are fools which I doubt anyway, then I don't see how they would continue to support Tinubu after this disturbing act by Afenifere.
I hope Yoruba Muslim votes would be enough to make Tinubu president otherwise his name is sorry. Very senseless piece full of ethnic and religious bigotry. Yoruba are for Tinubu. Take that to the bank. Take your bigotry back to IPOB and Obi. |

There was so much armed robbery in Marwa time we had to be doing night vigilante and then go to work in the morning. It was a very harrowing experience. Tinubu came and made companies to contribute to security fund. That was the first time in Nigeria. The police were equipped, RRS was formed and we started having peace. He also got job for most of the agberos who rob at night. I am a living witness. |

In scripture, we read of several who died and were raised from the dead. e.g. Lazarus, Tabitha, etc... they didn't die once, did they? So, it is essential to understand the meaning behind what Paul stated before seeking to continue. Is bible contradicting itself? |

Instead, what you claim was supposedly written by Paul in one of his letters and the meaning of that claim is as found in the context of his letter which you conveniently ignore when you lift his word out-of-context so.

What you claim was supposedly written by Paul in one of his letters and the meaning of that claim is as found in the context of his letter which you conveniently ignore when you lift his word out-of-context so.
In scripture, we read of several who died and were raised... they didn't die once, did they? But your bible says it is written for man to die once, and after that, judgement. |

winterfell007: You’re delusional if you think Lagos economy is that big to seek secession. Lagos heavily relies on Nigeria’s 200million population, if Lagos were to be a country of her own, do you think, she’ll gain all these investment she’s getting. Never! Lagos is not attracting these sort of investment because of Tinubu’s magic Wand, that’s a fat lie. Lagos is attracting this investment because of the huge 30 million market and the potential to supply over 160million people. That’s what is drawing these investment nothing more We don’t argue with visionless people. Dubai, Qatar and Singapore rely on outsiders coming to do business where visionary leaders create fertile environment to thrive. You will be shocked and dumbfounded. We have vision and capacity. |

How has buhari tried his best? How did COVID destroy Nigeria's economy? What business does the nigerian econ6and the economies of the world have with ebola? What has US sanctions on Russia got to do with inflation in Nigeria? When was price of petrol $28 per barrel? How is Nigeria doing well economically compared to other nations? I thought you said COVID and ebola have destroyed the economy? How has the school feeding program moved nigeria forward? Was it the same school feeding program was feeding children during covid when schools were closed? Which roads and railways were built? At what cost to Nigeria were they built? What value have they added to improving standard of living? In which developed countries are street protests taking place because of hardship?
How is it the worst time that buhari ruled nigeria? If you say buhari ruler nigeria in it's worst time, how has he made nigeria better based on Tinubus campaign promises?
"His words at the time were; “Every nation has a period of their own challenges, when America was challenged, they turned to one great man, their ex-military general, General Eisenhower. When the French were challenged, they turned to their general, Charles de Gaulle.
“When Britain was challenged, they turned to their general. Today, Nigeria is economically and physically challenged so we turn to General Muhammadu Buhari. He is the right man for the job.
