How much can i earn from admob?


This is the most frequently asked question.People focus too much on how much they can earn and not the effort they could do to earn such amount.

The amount you can earn via admob depends on these factors:

1. The number of active downloads you have. All downloads are not active.Some users download and seldomly use the app.An active download is a user that frequently use the app.Job apps usually have frequent users conpared to some other apps.


2. How often they use the app. If its frequent, more ads show up.

3. The geographical location of the user. The ads that show to a user in usa of same app have different ppc rate with same ad to another user in Nigeria.The ppc rate in Nigeria is low.

4. If the app is ppc or ppm. Ppc requires the user to click inorder for the app owner to earn.Ppm does not. Its the advertisers that determine the mode of their ad.

5. The fill rate. This is the rate at which ad space is filled when the app is in use.Some apps do not require internet as such for users to use it.In this situation, ads might not be served while internet is off.



So lets calculate a likely earning rate using the assumptions below:


1. 3000 active downloads
2. The app is being used at least once a day
3. The location of the users is Nigeria
4. The ad for that day is ppm
5. There is 100% fill rate.



As we are aware, 1000 impressions is the standard metric for ppm.

So lets assume the impression rate for Nigeria is 1.5 dollars for 1000 impressions.


If all the active downloads get a 100% fill rate, it means the ad show.That is 3000 impressions.


lets divide 3000 by 1000. That is 3.


so multiply 3 by 1.5 dollars. That is 4.5 dollars for that day if all the assumptions above are adhered to.

so 4.5 times 30 days is 135 dollars a month.

**** the assumption is if ppm is throughout the month. Ppc have higher earning than ppm but users only need to click.


in a normal situation, the ads are mixed and mostly ppc.Its now left for users to click or not.


Now the question is: how do i get 3000 downloads. It is a very small figure compared to the millions of job seekers and the free tools of social media.

This is the question i put back to them:
How many users can you get to download your app in a month?

Some say 20. imagine just 20.

Ordinarily a whatsapp full group is about 200.If you post with permission to such group and you offer the app for free, you will likely get more than 20 downloads.So imagine how many youth and job seeking groups available. What about npower group? These are target audience.


This thing is about the effort you make consistently and if you do it well, downloads increase exponentially and its proportional to earning.

All the tools to use are already free such as facebook, whatsapp etc.


So you can determine how much you intend to earn to an extent using the above calculation and work towards the download target.It is not a get rich quick thing but it is worth the effort.


Lazy mindset does not work here.You earn based on effort.This is not self clicking that you will likely get ban.

All apps are not the same as regards to earning potential with admob.

You can have a great app and people seldomly use it.To earn well, you need an app that people will use and interact with frequently.Its from its usage that ads pop up frequently.If you develop an app that is only used once or twice in a month, your earnings will be low.

So the 3 main things to consider are:

1. Does the app solve a problem? If the app does not solve a problem, why would anyone be so keen to download it in the first place.

2. Does it have demand? The problem needs to be in demand.

3.What is the probability of it been used frequently?


So now lets look into the concept of a job app as it satisfies the 3 conditions above.

A job app displays vacancies for job seekers.An average job seeker frequently apply for jobs in volumes with the hope of getting one out of so many.There is lots of demand.

The fact that the job app post jobs already solves a problem and the job seeker does not need to go to newspaper stands etc.

The job app i develop updates itself. You do not have to do anything. It goes online to collect and collate the available job vacancies from reputable job firms it can get and displays it for the job seeker.All the job seeker needs to do is to apply for the one that suits him or her.

The fact that it updates itself makes it to be frequently used and more opportunity for ads to pop up.

For those that said the promotion of the app is the issue, i want to put it to you that there is no free lunch anywhere.You have to put in effort to earn.This is not self clicking that will get you banned.The worst part about some ban is that you cant even use your name again on any google related activity like admob.


Promotion of your app is not as difficult as yoy might think. The prototype i develop is a job app.If you can use social media, then you can post and promote your branded job app.

You give it out for free and jobseekers download and use it.There are many whatsapp groups you can post it on.You can take permission from the whatsapp group admin.I am sure there will be people around you looking for jobs.All you do is to give it out for free after you have paid for my services of branding it for you and putting the ads in it.

Please do not have the lazy mindset of self clicking. It is cheating.

google charges 25 dollars for a developer acc if you want your own developer account. This is an added fee and i did not include it.You can always do that later.Its optional but very good.

What type of app can generate significant admob revenue?

There are different types of apps based on category.The 3 main characteristics of apps that are likely to generate more admob earnings are:

1. It should be an app that people can download easily.

2. It should be an app that users make use often.The more they use it, the more ads will likely show which increase revenue.

The best is to let the genuine interested users that download your app interact and engage with it themselves. You own is to get as many downloads as possible and watch earnings.

The basic thing expected of you by google is to promote your app and not click on the ads.

If you click on the ads, you are not being fair to the advertisers that paid for it.

Self clicking is banned by google admob.Those that develop self clicking apps encourage its owner to be clicking on the adverts themselves so as to accrue pay per click as they click.This is not fair to the advertisers that paid for the adverts because the owner clicking is not an organic natural user that might be likely interested in its advert.Google frowns at this an ban publishers that engage in such.Google can easily determine self clicking because it owns android os.

Ppc: It means pay per click.

This is a model whereby the advertisers deposit is charged or a fee is deducted from the deposit based on the number of clicks that a user of an app click on the advert.

lets take a scenario:

Assume that an advertiser deposit 30 dollars with google admob as advert fee based on pay per click.

let also assume that the average charge per click is 30cents. What this means is: each time that a user of an app sees and clicks on the advertisers advert, 30cents will be deducted from the advertisers deposit as fee charged for delivery the advert.Once the advert deposit is exhausted, that particular advert no longer displays unless the advertiser wish to renew another campaign by depositing.Advertisers deposits are based on their budget.

From the above, for every click that a user of an app clicks on an advert, google deducts 30cents and this is shared between google admob and the publisher.The publisher is the owner of the app in which advert space is allocated, thus share out of the revenue.The use of the app is the person that is using the app likely for free and it is the user that advertisers target their ads to.Users of app are simply those that download app for use.

For a publisher to earn through a pay pet click model, users of the app will have to click on the advets displayed willingly.

If they click on the advert, it means that they are likely intetested in the advertisers product or services.It is now let for them to decide on their own.
