Hello Mayorall. I’ve been a part of this forum for years now—quietly learning, engaging, contributing where I can, and growing alongside a community that has genuinely added value to my life. This space has been more than just a forum to me; it has been a place of knowledge, connection, and opportunity. At the moment, I am a medical student in my clinical years, and as you may already know, this phase is both demanding and critical. My days are filled with ward rounds, case presentations, research work, and continuous studying. Having access to a reliable laptop is no longer a luxury for me—it is an essential tool for writing case notes, reviewing materials, accessing guidelines, and staying up to date academically. Unfortunately, I currently do not have a functional laptop of my own. I’ve had to depend on borrowed devices or manage with my phone, which significantly limits my productivity and learning efficiency. There are times I miss out on opportunities or struggle to meet deadlines simply because I don’t have the right tools. Beyond medicine, I’ve also invested time in building skills in other areas. I have a strong interest in writing and communication, and I’ve worked on improving my ability to express ideas clearly and meaningfully. I’m also developing digital skills that can allow me to contribute more—whether through content creation, educational support, or engaging with communities like this one in a more impactful way. Having a laptop would not only support my medical education but also help me grow these skills further and give back more value. This giveaway, to me, is more than just receiving a device—it’s an opportunity to remove a major barrier in my journey. It would directly impact my ability to learn, work efficiently, and continue striving toward becoming a competent and compassionate doctor. I’m not asking out of convenience, but out of genuine need and a desire to keep pushing forward despite the challenges. I would be deeply grateful to be considered. Thank you for taking the time to read this. |
Nah who eventually pass go see patient, so try to pass by all legit means in the book. Crossing over to the clinical phase is sweet, you must strive to get there. |
Shawarmagirl:1 out of 500,000 actually. It's crazy how things like this actually work in the mind of greedy people. .................,..................... |

The wacko killer has also been reported dead a few hours ago. |
Foodqueen:You must be an animal lover to be so meticulous about their sounds and what they represent. I believe I'm one too. And maybe someday I would became a vegan cos my love for animals grows everyday. But for now, I still heavily salivate at the sight of grilled chicken. ![]() |
Urbaninspire:I sincerely sympathise with you in this trying time, I know how painful it must be for you. I pray you find help from unusual sources. |

Fineman2:You're in a very precarious situation. Your fears are very logical. How can one get married to a man who has to run to his family members before he can decide on what to do?! He prolly doesn't understand what marriage is since he's never been married before even at his age or maybe he's grown too dependent on his people. The normal theory is, if you proceed with the marriage, you should expect his family to always have the final say on some of the important moments in your life. I'm not saying one should cut off his people when it's time to settle down but a good man must know what should remain between himself and his bride, and what his family can jump into. |

I have been a large consumer of the posts and news on NL for several years now and I have noticed some changes in the modus operandi of the platform lately. Take as an example, it's 7:40am and there hasn't been a new post on FP, for anyone who knows what I'm hinting at, this is a misnomer. New posts are usually push to FP daily as early as 6:30am, or latest by 7:00am. I'm not trying to pin this on the mods but I'm only seeking to know why this is happening. Is it a change that was just incorporated? I need answers, and I'm sure I'm not the only one here. Another part of my post is directed to know the reason why the mods sometimes push stale news articles that have happened for more than three days ago to FP. It's been happening way too often to be an oversight. This acts reeks of incompetence, esp for a forum that is serving millions of Nigerians and several other West African nationals. This is not me apportioning blames to anyone, I'm only worried about the new state of things here. I believe the Mods and the forum owner, Seun Osewa can definitely do better than this. I hope this gets to the constituted authorities. |
tonicyril:Those are two lovely names that portray exquisite Yoruba artistry. |
Revolution2022:I was also confused before I remembered that his marriage to the white woman who is a citizen automatically confers the right of citizenship on him. |
sonofjos:Not everything should be killed for meat but many Nigerians do not know this. |

oluseyiforjesus:That would be a very stupid thing to do though, why make people pass through cruel ordeals to test them? If I could hazard a guess, I would say the company in question isn't worth the stress but OP is only trying hard to find a job that he would later regret. |
Dude398:You're welcome. |
Whatever you go, do not be tempted to buy a used phone online. The top life span of most used phones is very low. Some of them have underlining issues being the reason why the former owner wanted to sell them off. And you can even get police on your tail if you buy a stolen product inadvertently. Having a receipt may not be enough to prove your innocence with the Nigeria Police, they are just no respecter of formality. |
You got the dog's breed wrong, it's actually Boerboel not boa bull. It's a serious case, to some of us who happen to be passionate animal lovers, dogs are not just mere creatures that can be discarded at will. There is a high tendency for some people to have a strong bond with their furbabies and it's completely normal. Tell your man that you should start feeding the dog (with his supervision of course). Dogs tend to get close to whoever is giving them good care and attention. It won't take too long before the dog stops getting territorial around you. |

This is a lot better than wasting needed resources when they were not financially buoyant to impress outsiders. They can now do everything they've always wanted to do easily. I like the concept. |
I'm curious to find answers to a few questions though. Where do inmates pee and defecate if there are no proper toilets? Also, are there special prisons for notable persons in the society and corrupt politicians? Also, are there prison facilities for those awaiting trials, or do such people also get banged up in the prisons for convicted criminals? Are there functioning juvenile delinquencies for minor offenders in Nigeria? Emphasis is on "functioning"? The cell compartments that I have seen in movies usually have ridiculously tiny windows, how do claustrophobic people cope without freaking out? This is by far my biggest fear. I have a crazy anxiety that stems from the fear of being kept in an insanely closed space. How do inmates cope during the heat seasons when everywhere is just so hot esp in prisons up north where free citizens are literally burning out in their private residences even with their giant windows? I would be grateful to find answers to the above questions. Kindly help! |
.... The rod of discipline as the bible puts it IMO only has the end goal of modeling and correcting a child; this must not be achieved by spanking at all cost. I understand that the concept of spanking has been adopted by Africans for a long time now and many people now see it as the one and only way to making an erring child turn a new leaf but that is when it all gets defective, dogmatically conservative and close-minded. Spanking is just one of the many ways by which a child can be corrected and we as Africans must not be oblivious of that fact. I won't say spanking does not work but I'd like to believe that there are better ways of handling things. In short, I won't be subjecting my future kids to extreme torture in the name of seeking corrective measures. And just so you know, they will still turn out fine and even better. I had classmates way back in my primary and secondary school days who were thoroughly flogged consistently for being obstinate and they never changed just cos they were beaten. The logic should not be to spank by all means but to get the needed results using the best available approaches. |
redeff06:Seen, thanks. |
I'm interested pls. Kindly drop your contact info. |
Truvelisback:Your submission is apt but I have a correction to make. "Fourple" is not a word in the English dictionary, the right word is actually quadruple. |
The Dangers of Untamed (Unhealthy) Rivalry. Last night, Messi once again engraved his football legendary in the monolith of time. I came into the just concluded 2022 World Cup rooting for France to be crowned the back-to-back champion, even though I'm a Ronaldo fan. Maybe it has something to do with me not believing so much in the Portuguese team or it was conceived out of my admiration for Kylian Mbappe. Unlike me, several other fans of Cristiano Ronaldo threw their weights behind him. They wanted the man whom they reverence as the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) to lift the much-coveted international silverware; just like several other Messi fans aspired. In the long run, the Portuguese team was eclipsed by a more brilliant Moroccan side, all thanks to the 42nd-minute chance that was rightly converted by Moroccan leadman Y. En-Nesyri. The Argentine team made its way to the final after an apparently sloppy start saw the team lose to the proudly sponsored Saudi players. Let me cut to the chase already. Yesterday's Argentine victory showed the sealing of an eventful resilience and ushered gladness into the heart of the person of Leo Messi, the Argentine squad and its citizenry, including the entire Messi Supporters all across God's Green Earth. All that said, amid the gyration and celebration were another set of people on the opposing end of the spectrum, feeling dejected, extremely melancholic, and (maybe) hatefu!. Yes, I get that you're a CR7 fan, but should you necessarily seek Messi's downfall just to elevate Ronaldo's relevance?! I know someone who couldn't eat last night out of sheer dissatisfaction with Messi lifting the World Cup. I doubt that things really have to unfold this way. I call it the dangers of untamed rivalry. I get that healthy rivalry is good for constant self-evaluation, motivation and drive, but when it gets a little too much, it may begin to reveal a latently heinous side, that is bad for humanity. As a CR7 fan, I congratulate Messi and everyone who loves and cherishes his impact so far in the football world. You guys rocked big time last night. In my own mind, we as football lovers can love and respect these duo while showing our affection for any of them, without generating ill feelings amongst ourselves. Sign-off: SugarRay (A filter with a brain).

IgweBUIKE1:Ok, you won't get what you're looking for. |
One just needs to be very careful while dealing with people, even the ones who seemingly appear to be too innocent to wreck havoc. Imagine, a physically challenged woman plotting a diabolical move like this. I know several Nigerians would have falsely accused the Prophet without having a concrete evidence. I wonder what they have to say now. |
Nice gesture, it's better to cerebrate people while they are still alive than to lay a thousand wreaths on their gravestones when they pass on. |
yuzjet:Sorry for your loss. |
