Sometimes i wonder d kind of peeps in Nairaland.
Ameobi was called up to play for Nigeria @ 26yrs but opted to play for England which never came, now @ 30+ he agrees to play for Nigeria, even wen he is not playing regularly for his club, yet he is better than Osaze?
Sone Aluko has always been a great player even in Rangers of Scotland b4 they went in2 administration. Was even in FIFA list of players to watch out for in 2007 yet some fellas on Nairaland says the 30+ mba is better?
That the current players are doing well, does not mean that there's no room for improvement.

No, not the way u see it, just that of all in our clique, he was d most faithful. I doubt if any guy can be as faithful as my guy. And he usually boast about his girl even when u tell him d contrary. Well, for d HIV story, i went with him for d confirmation test and was there when he called her. Also, b4 now he used to boast to us that he had d most faithful and trust worthy girl in d world, though he had his own short coming. All through the period of saga he never slept with any. Have a friend who got married to a damsel. She was everything you can ever imagine in a woman. A God fearing lady, intelligent and beautiful. Also very homely. They dated for 10yrs, right from when she entered d university. Both read 6yrs course and spent 7yrs due to Naija factor. All through school there was no sex, till she graduated, then she allowed him and behold she was a virgin. This attracted him more to d girl and was bent on marrying this angel. He had ladies falling for him with whom he would have easily played with, but most times she gets to know of it b4 it materialized. She usually then starts a storm and after plenty quarrels or direct confrontation with the ladies, they back off. Then came a time when they decided to start planning marriage, then d guy while @ work pricked himself with a needle of an HIV positive patient. He then told his fiancee and did HIV test that was negative. Then he commenced anti-retroviral propylaxis but discontinued it after 3 days due to d side effects. Was so scared of going for d confirmatory test 3months after to check his status. So he told the girl that the marriage plans will be on hold till he confirms he is negative or if she can't wait she should move on with her life. Also on the premise that if he is positive she should move on. But she insisted on staying and that she was convinced he is negative. But during the waiting period they started quarreling regularly on trivia issues though d lady still remained with him and he also continue to play his role to her. But the guy did not go back for d confirmatory test for 15months. And no plans of wedding discussed again. He later called it quit Dec 24th 2011 and on 31st Dec 2011 he summoned courage to go for d HIV test, which was negative, with a joyful heart he called his lady to tell her d good news and rushed to church. Then in January he called her and proposed again and they got married in Nov 2012. Just abt a month plus into d marriage, he picks his wife's phone to help her delete some scam messages, just to find out that btw Nov 2010 and Nov 2011, his wife (then girlfriend) was throwing herself at difft men. Visiting guys @ their houses. Keeping appointments with guys she met on Facebook and blackberry and wanting to know wat all this guys do for a living b4 meeting them. Now my guy is so devastated and confused. He thinks his damsel was even more dirty than other ladies out there, but they just got married and he is really confused. Pls, we need good economist in the house to advice us. Workers in UBTH Benin have been informed that they are to start paying a new tax rate (that is almost 400% of the previous) from this month of August to the Edo state govt. But info from other centres esp the federal parastatals, shows they are not even aware of this new policy of the state government. Of note is that staffs of UBTH have been paying higher taxes than those of other federal parastatals in the state including the 2 other federal hospitals ie ISTH Irrua and psychiatry hospital Benin. The question we are asking is, if this new law indeed is a law, why is it been applied to UBTH alone?

If d truth must be told, never a time in Nigeria has appointment been based on merit. Even one time in OMU, Ife, a member of staff was queried for selling SUG President form to a Bini man. Its only in Benin that u'll see other tribe dominating. Imagine appointing an ibo or bini man VC of U.I or an Urhobo man VC of UNN. Its practically impossible. The problem with the Binis is dat it took them too long to realise that u won't get anything on merit hence Prof Osagie lost to Anao and the worthless Nwanze. Also when other states were ensuring that institutions in their state were filled with their indigent, the God fathers in Edo were busy appointing their cronies from all around to take position in Fed institutions in d state to the detriment of their own pple. He's one man that could be said to have been dogged in fighting for what he believes in. Yet in the second year of his ascension to the exalted position of governor of a state that has been left in the shadow of other states by its corrupt past leaders, there is really little or nothing to show for it except for the numerous lectures by the ex-labour leader on the way forward and his 'one man one vote' slogan. While the governor is always present in almost all pro-democracy gathering, lectures, book-lunch, house warming ceremony, condolence visits etc any-where in the country, there is little or nothing to show the presence of the governor's work in the state in which he has been governor for close to 2 years now except for the beautification of the ring road at a cost of about 1 billion naira and the spectacular and successful check mating of the 'god-father' and nationally acclaimed 'mr fix-it' (which i must commend). Apart 4m these there is really nothing to show for Oshomhole's almost 2 yrs in office. All the projects awarded last yr are about 5% completed,worse is the oba market rd, a very short distance of less than 400m which has been under going renovation for close 2 5 months now,same goes for other projects. Also the return of 'agberos' in the name of V.I.Os is something else in the state. Even the governor who claim that he was in a mission 2 beautify d state is already betraying his own words as a structure of a former PDP Warlord ear-marked for demolition was later commissioned by the same Oshomhole after the war-lord decided to join Oshomhole's party, closin a major road for close to 3 hrs in the process, an offence that many people in the states have been made to pay close to a 100k for in the Oshomhole's new dispensation. Another worrying part is the governors and his aids sexual escapades, worse of it all is with young ladies desperately in need of jobs in the state civil service. The questions most Edo-lites is asking now is what makes Oshomhole difft from the PDPs which most of them put their lives on the line to see out of power by ensuring that a new face arise. Suddenly that new face seems to be presenting a new face of evil things to the citizens of the state. But as one of my friend will always say "its better to have democracy with a dying Yar-Adua than allow the military come back to power", in other words the state will rather have Oshomhole than allow the return of PDP.
