Most of the oil branded full synthetic in Nigeria made by Nigeria company are not really full synthetic...... Nigeria has no strict regulations compared to their abroad counterparts ......


That been said,the 45k oil how long can it last before you do oil change. If it can't last up to 7k miles before oil change,that na nonsense u dey buy

Most of the engine oil in the market is fake baba.... We are your plug for original imported oil from the USA...

So guys I had a customer hit me up for Engine oil .

I needed to know year and model of the car . And I needed to know if na tokunbo or naija used..

To make long story short. The vehicle is naija used and it was just ringed , meaning rebuild.....

So in situation like this it is not advisable to follow owners manual of using 5w30 oil . The reason is that the engine is rebuilt and most rebuilt engine are 50/50 chance of the vehicle lasting more than six months...

The client was advised to use 10w40 full synthetic high mileage oil. 10w40 is highly formulated for older vehicles in mind. The addictives will help improve the oil seals and reduce oil leaks.....

Now I asked the client if he was using water or coolant. He stated water, using water in your radiator does alot of damage to your engine in the long run.

Coolant will help take the pressure by absorbing the excess heat from the engine and helps regulate engine temperature. Water does not have those properties, infact water makes it worse and eventually it will be lead to over heating. And cracking your engine block....

Any name brand coolant will do .. most of the Abro is water and color mix together. Read the label of the coolant carefully.. example below

This coolant has the basics requirements that is required for all manufacturers of cars. So you can use it for all types of cars.

When using new coolant it is always advisable to completely drain out the old coolant flush it preferable with distilled water or you can use the water dripping from your air conditioner from your house. Mixing coolant with another coolant is not advisable,due to chemical reactions... Just playing safe

When using coolant your radiator is protected from rust. your engine cools off better, because coolant has added chemicals to cool the engine, compare to using water.
You will avoid over heating and replacing your gasket.

And most importantly, you don't need to change coolant offen like engine oil . The coolant should last at least 12months....

And take note : use coolant that are already premix . No need to add water.read the label well it tells no need to add water. Just use it like . Others will ask you to add water to 50% ratio. But nobody has that time because you to use distilled water, using ordinary water does not make sense.. The manufacturer has already done the work when is already premix

Mobil 1 10w40 high mileage full synthetic.. the 10w40 will clean up any possible sludge or dirt in the engine..

But generally 20w50 is not advisable for use in any modern cars. Unless specifically states otherwise..

Just common sense that oil is too thick.... Once a car uses 20w50 I normally encourage not to switch to factory recommended oil na 50/50

Good morning people. Please I need help. Don't really understand what is happening to my 2003 Honda Accord EOD. It consumes oil alot. Note the car is not smoking and works fine with excellently chilling Ac. The problem is that once I change the engine oil, within three weeks there will be shortage. The oil level goes below the last hole on the oil dipstick. I use Total Quartz 20w 50 oil for the engine. Kindly assist and advise so I can know what to do.

This is why we encourage people to follow owners manual at all times. That supposed to be using 5w20 and if na something thicker than 5w30 or 10w40. This is based if the engine the short small oil ......

That 20w50 is too thick to start with, and when using you supposed change am every 2500 miles... That been said the heavy thick oil has damaged the engine and thicker oil can't no longer work....

When using thicker oil like 20w50 constantly like that it will damage the engine to the point that thicker oil is no longer good to prevent from oil shorten...

So the best thing is to replace the engine or sell it off. Fixing it is not advisable,cuz it is not guaranteed it will work longer than six months.. you taking a gamble

I already bought another car to give out for Rentals but their excuses and abuse of the vehicle is what tires me out. Ordinary 70k weekly na war. What i did now is that I just drive my car myself atleast Fridays and Saturdays and then get better than what they gave me and my car rests better and no much stories. This is what I did with 25k on Monday, from 6am to 4pm. It's just better for me this way

So few weeks ago I notice that my beloved 2016 Honda Civic had an oil leak around the engine area. So basically the valve cover gasket is leaking.....

I will be surprised if drivers are not using coolant. Alot of drivers I know use coolant. Myself while I was driving ALWAYS used coolant. These I believe shouldn't be used as comparism to thickness of oil.

Truthfully 5W 40 is thicker and besides we sud just stick to manufacturers opinion just ensure it's the fully synthetic

Baba majority of car owners and Uber drivers and other e hailing drivers don't use coolant... There this notion that coolant is for abroad weather... Please keep in mind I invested heavily on e hailing early 2018

When we talk of coolant, we are not talking about abro coolant... That is fake coolant


My summary here is even if you are using the correct vicosity engine oil , and u are using water instead of coolant, u are deceiving urself, or better if you are using thicker oil thinking it will protect ur engine from wear and tear, and u are using water instead of coolant, the car owner is deceiving himself........

Now in terms of thicker, thicker oil should only be used as a last result.. Now if you need more engine oil protection after making sure you are using original coolant..

You can use high mileage engine oil. A recommended oil brand with a proven track record.

The use of coolant instead of water 💦.. The mentality is that coolant is meant for abroad weather


Now if you are doing e hailing and your car is using water instead of coolant. You have no reason to talk about thicker oil to protect your engine because of extreme heat .. Your points are null and void


Using coolant in your engine helps regulate optimal temperature of your engine. Coolant has added addictives to prevent coolant from boiling like water.

Coolant absorbs the excess heat from your engine to prevent overheating and reducing wear and tear.. water actually does the opposite,

using water increase the wear and tear of your engine especially in stop and go traffic,coz water does not have cooling properties to regulate optimal temperature ...

Summary: if you using water instead of coolant, you are killing yourself engine faster , using thicker oil at this point to protect your engine is null and void. Water can not absorb heat like coolant, your engine is even working harder under these conditions....


I don't want to hear anything about thicker oil to protect your engine, if you are using water instead of coolant..

Your engine air filter is responsible for making sure dirt,sand and other particles don't enter the engine. This is why it is important to always check your engine air filter...

I will use my car has an example.. My car has two engine air filters. One of them is dirty and the other is ok. I will have to change them. If na dirt dey worry you or sand unless you dey drive inside sand I don't know
