Its cheaper for me to buy expensive oil than to buy another Engine of about 2ml

Those mobil1 oil that you buy for anything below 68k per gallon are fake!

Our brothers will sell them to you with straight faces telling you that they are okay, no, they feel those kegs with any shit they could lay their hands on then boom your engine get fried.

If you are using any car that requires been serviced with fully synthetic oil, just go to get your authentic oil from reputable Mobil or Total outlets. They may be expensive though but getting another engine or regular visits to Kazeem shop will be far more expensive.

How often should you change out your oil ... most new model cars oil interval is 7k miles or every 6months. Whichever comes first.........


Please keep in mind this applies when using full synthetic oil.. And most importantly the oil has to be genuine..

You car is your investment take good care of it ..

from what I gather, the oil dilution ish is in cold climates, which is where you are, and besides, honda issued a fix.

Than go ahead and get the turbo than.. from YouTube reviews the turbo is fun to drive. You should not have issues with the turbo since the oil dilution is caused by cold climate.....

But seriously have not heard anyone complain about the turbo engine. All I hear is positive reviews. I might even get a turbo myself maybe 2018 upwards

Am not complaining at all. I do roughly about 74 miles a day . The fuel on full tank will last me almost 5 days. And it will cost me $25 to fill up the tank......

But I dey put crazy miles on the car even though na highway miles

Please I need people's experience with this car. There are two types of engine I see: The 2l NA engine and the 1.5l turbocharged engine. From reviews I saw online, some prefer the 1.5l for it's more powerful and can save fuel better, others prefer the 2l own because in the long run, it's more durable. These were online reviews from foreigners obviously so I thought to ask Nigerians who know firsthand how this model fairs.

I asked a mechanic about the turbo engine and he dismissed it immediately, that I should avoid any turbo engines because if it gets spoilt, I won't see new one to buy etc. So I thought to ask if this is a common sentiment in Nigeria. If you have experience with the turbo engine, I'd like to know your view. Is it a problematic engine that is difficult for mechanics to work on? Does it get damaged easily?

I drive the 2016 Honda Civic 2.0 fun and fast to drive. As am typing now, am replacing the a/c compressor at the mechanic.......

The Honda Civic turbo 2016 to 2019 has oil dilution problems. And few recalls online.. so for now avoid it for now and stick to the 2.0 engine

fixes carried out was just a back bumper and i have purchase the vehicle history from Carfax and it has passed all emission test since the inception of the car purchase
rate of shortage is every 500KM


So i have changed the oil and the problem seems to have solve. i am currently using a 5W 20 so lets monitor it and see

The recommended oil is 0w20 .if the car still short oil use 0w30 ... 5w20 is only recommended if 0w20 is no available,but must revert back to 0w20 on the next oil change.........

Dear Friends

I imported a 2014 Toyota Camry SE edition sometime in December 2024. Every thing was going on well till i discovered the car is shorting oil and had to top up.

My mechanic scanned the vehicle and suggested we change the PCV Valve(Positive Crankcase ventilation Valve). The PCV valve has been changed and still i am experiencing the oil Shutting.

Mind you we have checked for Oil leakages every where and couldn't find any, and the Engine is not smoking.

I will appreciate any suggestions here to troubleshoot this. I am scared of having further encounter with a mechanic so that things dont get worse

Ask your mechanic to check out the oil seal. He will have to open up the engine and look for leaks around the oil seal ..

Also the mileage of the car matters too The higher miles the engine has the more likely it can likely shorten oil. It should not be that much....

If all fails, you have to use thicker oil . Plz don't use 20w50.. use 10w40 .. this should be your last result
