Guys, there is something i am not getting about this Critical Work Permit thing - is one expected to be registered with a professional body back home in Nigeria or one has to be registered with a professional body in SA? What about the highly regulated fields like Medicine, Veterinary Meicine, Nursing and co? Again, as a pg student on study-permit, can one apply for th critical work permit thing?

Please who has rands for sale and in Jo'burg?

Please kindly tell me ur experience about Rwanda later and what baggage do they accept. I saw on their website that they have specific bag size they accept in terms of height and all
I feel it was ok...nothing special as such. They accept two baggage - 23kg each, nothing was raised about the height of baggage. I enjoyed the lag to kigali flight more cuz craft was a big one compared to the connecting flight's. Kigali International Airport is a very small airport, so there is almost no delay at all.

I picked up my passport with study-permit yesterday. I want to thank @abdullahi@thecassanova@Zico70@imoniyi and other gurus in the house for not minding my shallow questions. Funny enough, the visa has been issued since 25th Jan without any message nor text sent to me. I just did what @abdullahi advised....tracked, and saw your processed passport is now at LAGOS on 25th bla bla(that is just 13 days after submission). And the rest is history.
Really appreciate everyone on here...you guyz are the best.

VFS can't help, it's out of their range now, but SA embassy can. They do have reachable numbers but still it's to no end as they'll tell you it's still under processing.

Keep communicating to the course coordinator and HOD that you're still attending. Also let the international office at wits be aware. The most important thing is to meet the deadline of registration. If it's a research and coursework degree you need not worry, just chill and get your permit, you can always do makeup or defer the first few modules.
Thanks @Thecassanova...but will i get a text or SMS as par collection or i can just go to VFS to ask questions maybe its already there and someone somehow failed to initiate the text.

Hello gurus in the house...pls am in the process of submitting my study visa application, but i am confused about d Police clearance cuz i heard some things which i don't understand. Someone told me i have to get the police clearance from southafrica when i have never been there before. I heard again this morning that the only place i can get the police clearance that is acceptable for SA visa is at Maloney in Lagos cuz am based outside Lagos. Is any of the info true...please your guide.

And are there any Wits grads, present students or about-to students on this thread...kindly signify please.

Numerouuuno:
1. I expect someone trying to apply for express entry based on NOC2221 to have a science degree, think about it, the only reason people nominating NOC3112 must be certified doctors is the same logic that applies here. Ofcourse, you should have a degree that authorizes you to work in specific positions, especially medical fields which i have stated earlier.

2. When nominating NOC, your degree doesn't matter, only your work experience do. That's the reason you must submit a Letter from your Boss stating you did all the jobs listed in the NOC job experience requirements.
Please are you now saying for someone who is a Vet Doc by training/degree but has been working in the banking industry for more than five years for instance can apply for EE under NOC 0601 inspite of the employment requirements specifically stated as a university degree or college diploma in business or in a related field with a specialization in sales?

I just need clarification on this.

Yes. As long as there is correlation between your job description and the one you're choosing as NOC.
Please house, how do i kick start the process as i know next to nothing about the procedure? How long can the whole process take...from start to PR/PPR they call it?
And again who should be the principal applicant between myself and my wife- i have just first degree while she's got masters; i have done WES evaluation, although for academic purpose, while she hasn't; am in a paid employment for over 4years while she is self-employed; we are both yet to do IELTS and over 30yrs of age.

Thanks gurus on the thread.

Your work experience.
@penitential...are you saying as someone who studied Vet medicine but has been working as a Banker with no degree or training related to Banking aside his experience, can apply under NOC related to his job function as a banker?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by drwrites: 4:39pm On Mar 03, 2017
MrsBee:
Please i have a question regarding this. My husband read Vet Medicine but he has been a banker for almost 10 years and I read law but have 5 years work experience in real estate. Should the NOC be related to our work experiences or degrees?
Please are there Vet Doctors who have been through this process before...please kindly help a brother.

And please gurus on the thread....the question asked by the above moniker is very important, can someone please respond to it. Should NOC chosen be related to ones degree or work experience as depicted above?

No sir, there is nothing more to do till you get a communication from the embassy which should be a request to undergo medical examination if she didn't do an upfront medical prior to submitting the application or any additional document request if the embassy needs any from her.

So you have nothing to worry over. If there is any more thing needed, rest assured the embassy will contact her/you. Hope this helps.
@Austinpee4 thank you much Boss

Thank you much...noted!

Good morning everyone, please i want to know if letter of support/sponsorship is the same as Affidavit of support/sponsorship. If they are not, which is more preferable for visa for visa application?
