Now you might be wondering where is all these coming from.

Its actually coming from the fact that for the past 4/5yrs, i noticed that i have slowed down in driving. I'm slow at first that is 80/90/100 but once i get into the spirit of the road, its 120 upwards. Then, i secretly had a desire to break my last speed record which of course as a newbie to the express in the 2000s was 120. Of course with more travels i broke it till my top speed was 189/90 which was because i ignored the vibration i experience till i beat my former record of 165. Hence my post in this thread

But if I'm not trying to beat my record my average speed is about 140/160, till i drop back to 100/120 and reach my destination.

But the truth is that i always reviewed my driving and try to take notes of what things i learnt. And my number 1 lesson is that SPEED IS VERY VERY DANGEROUS and that it kills.

In truth i saw was a little afraid (maybe upto 30%) fear but overconfidence was fuller. In those days i usec to hear how one driver drove 180 from Lagos to Ibadan/Benin/Onitsha/Kaduna and me too won be dat driver na im causa am

But my biggest motivation was to drive like commercial bus drivers do. Me i want to make Lagos to calabar on 8hours my record is 10hours and I actually gave myself a 30 minutes break which was supposed to be 1 hour oo but because i wanted to beat the record a cross country driver has done in my heart who was the first andto bring me from Calabar to lagos from daylight to daylight is why.

And so in the past years that I have become slow and i don't care about records my driving has changed and I'm wondering how did i get to drive the way i drove in the past.

And last week while i was sitting patiently in lagos traffic, i saw shortcuts i could take which I knew a commercial drivers must take, yet i did not take it but rather patiently sat in traffic and i think this might be the 100th time but it was last week that I finally noticed

And I was wondering why as i i usually wonder but not with concentration but this time it hit me that my driving has changed and that event prompted me to see that my a driving habits come from commercial drivers for i always thought that commercial drivers were the best drivers

But thanks to God and one small warning i carried with me in my mind which came from a friend in secondary school who told me about one of our classmates who had crashed in our silent competition of who shall crash first, is why i never had an accident in these exploits. My guy said that day

"Novice no dey get accident na ogbo dey get accident"

And that statement holds true even tomorrow.

And when I see accidents coming from commercial bus drivers and i sabi drive, i always recite the words

"Novice no dey get accident na ogbo dey get accident"

So if you are lover of driving please check who you learnt from or who you are following and as you can see, beware of commercial drivers. They are no different from tobacco

I believe that many of us who love driving picked up our driving techniques and habits which we happily call skills from what we call the best drivers in the world.

We all picked this up from movies or from a certain driver who took us to school or from popsi or uncle. And the bottom line is that speed and weaving in and out of other vehicles was the orgasm of driving.

And in all this we were all driving with this our mentors in our minds, watching, and learning from everyone whom we considered a very good driver.

And some of us even knew we could drive even before we actually knew how to drive.

Now, for most of us, nobody really sat down to teach us, not to talk of the fact that we also knew that nobody wanted to teach us. So we all taught ourselves and then one day we took the car into the road and drove to our friends houses, schools and lesson without being caught, (at first).

And by the fact that we were not caught, most of us even finally starting letting our parents catch us and of course after they tested us, that was when we were allowed to drive and we claimed the cars until we bought ours and driving became normal.

However, out of this list of mentors we learnt from, there is one most dangerous mentor we unwittingly absorbed whose driving style and habit we all subconsciously absorbed.

And that is the driving habits of commercial drivers.

I doubt anyone can tell you anything reasonable on these issues because it is almost impossible to get any empirical evidence about the location of heaven or hell. In fact I would proceed further to say that you would get more information on such issues from Ai,on the Internet or from Wikipedia than on Nairaland.com, where many people are still locked in a religious cage of fear. Most of them will ignore a thread as curious as this thread. Or will attempt to derail the thread or even ask you to DIE,first so that you can experience the location of heaven or hell. Yes,some of them can be as illogical,narrow minded,and petty like that.

Anyone with a basic open minded knowledge of the Bible ,Quoran and other religious books would see instances where gods and religious beings are said to descend and ascend the heavens. These books were written by primitive men with no scientific knowledge. These people believed the Earth is flat and so the sky which is above is the heaven where the gods and spiritual beings reside. That was the extent of their knowledge and understanding which they masqueraded as the word of the god(s). For instance,the book of Isaiah 66:1, where the Hebrew god declares, "Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool."
