saintopus:It was his own brother that petitioned him to the EFCC.... so they now using the Petition against him |
The Reason EFCC is after Chief Timipre Sylva 🔹 Subject of Petition Call for thorough investigation into the disbursement of funds for the Brass Fertilizer & Petrochemical Company Ltd, Atlantic International Refinery & Petrochemical Limited, and the Brass Petroleum Product Terminal Limited by the Kesiyi Simbi Wabote-led NCDMB.” 🔹 Main Concern: Hon. Goli asked the EFCC to investigate and possibly prosecute individuals involved in how funds were disbursed to the above companies — all located in Brass Local Government Area, Bayelsa State — during the tenure of Engr. Simbi Kesiyi Wabote, who was the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB). 🔹 Context: The petition connects to the NCDMB’s investment in modular refinery and petrochemical projects, which also involved Timipre Sylva, who was then the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and linked to Atlantic International Refinery & Petrochemical Ltd. That same project (and fund disbursement) is what the EFCC later cited when declaring Sylva wanted in November 2025 for alleged dishonest conversion of $14.86 million belonging to NCDMB.

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Yenagoa and Sagbama branches have issued a directive that, effective October 1, 2025, no legal practitioner within and outside Bayelsa State should charge less than 10 percent of the purchase sum as professional fees for preparing title deeds on land transactions. This decision was reached at a joint meeting of the Remuneration Committees of both branches held on September 24, 2025. A statement jointly signed by Barrister C.B. Kekemeke, Chairman, NBA Yenagoa Branch; Barrister O.J. Sampson, Chairman, NBA Sagbama Branch; Prof. Pereowei Subai, Chairman, Remuneration Committee, NBA Yenagoa Branch; and Barrister R.M. Whyte, Chairman, Remuneration Committee, NBA Sagbama Branch warned its members that charging below the stipulated fee for land documentation in Bayelsa would constitute professional misconduct. According to the statement, defaulters will be reported to the Legal Practitioners’ Disciplinary Committee for sanction. The statement further emphasized that the enforcement aims to ensure uniformity, fairness, and professional standards in legal practice across the state.

Azibaola Roberts a Cousin to Former President Goodluck Jonathan writes Festus Keyamo and Chidi Odinkalu following their statements that Goodluck Jonathan shouldnot contest for President in 2027 His letter 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇Dear Festus Keyamo (SAN), Chidi Odinkalu (Prof.), I greet both of you. FOR THE RECORDS: We 3 are lawyers. We all were prodemcracy activists in the 90s, and I was a better activist than both of you combined. RULE NO. 1: Do not offer legal advice where none is solicited. GEJ (PDP) has numerous, more celebral, more experienced SANs at his disposal that give him sound, unblemished, professional legal advice only. PLEASE NOTE: GEJ is 100% constitutionally and legally qualified to contest, if he chooses to. If he chooses not to yield to his overwhelming calls to run, it would not be because he is not qualified. Your screwed, unsolicited legal view is not of any concern in his bucket list, and it will never be. Don't waste your precious times further dwelling on this. Or should I schedule a meeting with me so you can get properly educated on the subsisting court judgements on this, one of which your party, APC, was a party? (I beg una, make we no dey put too much water inside belle for another person disco dance, make long line no form for latrine door). # This is not a confirmation that GEJ is running, though.

BREAKING: Senate Confirms Dr. Michael Ekpai Odey as RSIEC Chairman, Six Others as Commissioners The Nigerian Senate has screened and confirmed Dr. Michael Ekpai Odey as the Chairman of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), alongside six other nominees as commissioners, paving the way for the commission to conduct the upcoming local government elections scheduled for August 9, 2025. The confirmation followed a thorough screening process during Tuesday’s plenary session, where the Senate reviewed the qualifications and suitability of the nominees submitted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The newly confirmed RSIEC members are: Dr. Michael Ekpai Odey – Chairman Mr. Lezaasi Lenee Torbira – Member Professor Arthur Nwafor – Member Professor Godfrey Woke Mbudiogha – Member Professor (Dame) Joyce Akaninwor – Member Dr. (Mrs) Olive A. Bruce – Member Professor Chidi Halliday – Member The appointments come at a critical time as RSIEC prepares to organize credible, free, and fair local government elections in Rivers State, following the Supreme Court’s nullification of the October 5, 2024, polls due to violations of the Electoral Act. The Senate’s approval is expected to strengthen the commission’s capacity to deliver on its mandate. Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, congratulated the confirmed nominees, urging them to uphold integrity and transparency in their duties. “The RSIEC has a significant responsibility to ensure that the democratic process at the grassroots level is robust and credible. We trust that these appointees will deliver,” Akpabio stated. . Follow us for more details
