Lady calls off wedding over domestic Abuse

Ada Uburu
Hello Guys!!!I never wanted to bring this here but I have to, I am a type of person who likes to keep my relationship away from social media but this is for clarification purposes.

This was my secondary school classmate who I thought I knew to an extent. On December 28, 2020 he did the 1st and 2nd stage in my family marriage list which bride price happened to be on the 2nd stage which he paid. After he paid my bride price he started maltreating me.

2021 was hell for me that at some point I left home, after everything we settled around November 2021 which he promised he will never beat me again. But still nothing CHANGED.

This is my reason why I am CALLING OFF the Traditional Marriage (Igba Ngwu) and White Wedding ceremony between me and DAVID OKIKE OFF. (Beating me was not part of the agreement in our Marriage)

This Saturday should have been my traditional and white wedding ceremony day.... I supposed to be happy but I am not.

For couple of months now I have been going through a lot.

I have been in a TOXIC RELATIONSHIP for OVER a YEAR now.. I am aware that this may be a shock to many people, especially people from my Home Town. My supposed husband HIT and ABUSE me in any slightest provocation, just small misunderstanding without minding what condition I am into.

Because I have chosen ME and I will not live my entire life facing DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. My supposed husband is full of RAGE, BEATING me with his Belt, Stick, Broom is his DAILY ROUTINE, Many a times he had lifted his hammer on me and this Monday last week just because of little misunderstanding he beat me mercilessly and on the process of it he rushed into his mother's kitchen for a cutlass, when I noticed he's going for a weapon I locked the door behind him which he forcefully opened, both his mother and Sisters and some neighbors were begging him not to cut me with the cutlass ... With all these things and more I am fed up.

I AM CALLING OFF THE WEDDING AND TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE (IGBA NGWU) BETWEEN ME AND DAVID OKIKE that supposed to hold on this Saturday 16th, April 2022.

Please to my family and friends I am so sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you

But I will not end up with a man who always promise that if I didn't kill him, that he will kill me.

I am still suffering from unstoppable headache I sustained from the head injury he gave me 3 weeks ago.

The "bride price paid" will be Returned in due time. Please Respect my choices. Thanks and God bless you all. ©ADA UBURU

Politics4 Presidential Aspirants Under PDP Visit Bayelsa State. Gov. Diri Ceived Them by dubaino(op): 5:41pm On Apr 11, 2022
Today, I received four Presidential Aspirants under the platform of our great party, the People's Democratic Party (PDP)- former Senate President and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim, former Senate President and former Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Bukola Saraki, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State and Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State at the Government House, Yenagoa when they came for consultation.

In the morning, I received Chief Anyim in my official residence while the trio of Dr. Saraki, Governor Bala and Governor Tambuwal were received in my office this afternoon.

The three of them are meeting key stakeholders across the country on the need to build consensus among the PDP Presidential aspirants. A good move!

Indeed, consultation is part of politics and I am particularly happy that everyone of them understands clearly the need to sustain the unity within our party to be able to win next year's Presidential election.

It is more reassuring that the PDP will form the next government at the centre.

Former Bayelsa senator and Founder of Silverbird Group, Ben Murray Bruce, announces death of his mum.

He wrote: "Life. Indeed, like sand in the wind, today it’s here, tomorrow it’s gone. My mum is gone. She died at 4:40am this morning. My gem of inestimable value, my support system, my best friend, my everything—she’s gone.

My consolation is that in her lifetime, I gave her not just everything that money could buy, but most importantly, I gave her my presence, my time, my everything. On uncountable occasions, I will go to her house to hug her and play with her for no reason but love, the kind that only sons share with their mums. I love you, mum, and I miss you. This one hurts so bad. Forever yours.

PoliticsFG Approves 14 Days Paternity Leave For Civil Servants by dubaino(op): 12:55pm On Jan 17, 2022
FG approves 14 days paternity leave for Civil Servants.

The federal executive council (FEC), presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, on Wednesday, approved 14-day paternity leave for civil servants.
Folasade Yemi-Esan, head of civil service of the federation, disclosed while briefing state house correspondents at the end of the weekly meeting.
Yemi-Esan explained that paternity leave will allow fathers to properly bond with their newborn babies or adopted children.

“We’ve gotten approval to include paternity leave. This is something that is new. And this is something that the unions in the service asked that we include, and luckily, we’ve been able to include it,” she said.

“We’ve also been able to ensure that leave now is calculated based on working days, not on calendar days; that also has been approved.
“Paternity leave is the leave that is approved for men, when their spouses or wives have given birth to a newborn baby. Or if the husband and wife have just adopted a baby of less than four months, then the man is entitled to paternity leave of about 14 days.

“So, that is what has been approved for men, so that the men and their babies also can bond well. It’s important because we want the young children and the youth to bond properly with their fathers, just as they bond well with their mothers.

“This is the first time that this has been approved for men to form bonds at the early stages, especially at the early stages of a child’s life; that is when it’s very important for this bonding to take place.”

PoliticsPresident Buhari Stood On The COAT OF ARMS Of Nigeria by dubaino(op): 10:12am On Jan 17, 2022
An abomination happened at the laying of wreath during the Armed Forces Rememberance Day. A Retired General and the President stood on the COAT OF ARMS of Nigeria. Does he know the coat of arm is the repository of what Nigeria represents? The coat of arm is far more important than the flag. No where in the world would that happen. Shame of a nation.
We must also blame those who put the carpet there. Head must roll. Imagine diplomats laughing at us .

Amagite:
The Biggest Rice Pyramids in Africa. Built with 1million Bags of Rice Paddy planted and harvested from states across the country under the Anchor Borrowers Programme ABP.

CBN is matching rice millers with RIFAN to off-take the paddy, mill and supply the Nigerian markets. They have set up machineries to prevent hoarding and ensure the milled rice are sold to Nigerians.

The paddy recovery is an ongoing effort as harvests are never concluded at the same time. Aggregated paddy for the pyramids is a fraction of the recovered paddies and the ones used at the unveiling represents about 25% of the loan amount.

Family**where Is The Extended Family?* by dubaino(op): 11:08am On Jan 13, 2022
**WHERE IS THE EXTENDED FAMILY?*

In the early hours of this morning, one of my Daughters, walked up to me and said "Daddy I have a very important request; Can you please build a very big house, where my cousins, my grandma, my aunties and everybody will come and live with us? I want all of us to be living together. Daddy, this is my greatest wish in life. If you can do this for me, I will be the happiest person in the world"

That got me thinking because this was the same kind of mind we had while growing up. We grew up loving to see people in a communal setting.

Nothing gave us joy like seeing others around. Our parents had little to nothing, but our glow, strength and wealth was in relationships, especially families. The joy of holidays and celebrations still vibrate in my heart.
We usually lose sleep to happiness during such seasons because, friends and relatives would be coming home. It was such a delight to see siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunties, grannies, etc.

We shared everything in common. We ate from same plates, shared same cups, bathed together, slept on the same mats, and even were covered with the same clothes at night. We accompanied each other everywhere, including the toilet.

One's fight was everyone's fight. One's victory was everyone's victory...

Sadly, as we began to grow up, we began to grow apart. We began to raise fences over our once unfenced houses; to imprison ourselves, thinking we were shutting others out. Class, complex, offense, I-am-busy, don't-disturb-me, we-are-not-that-related, excuses etc, began to set in.

Today, we've made enemies out of one's neigbours; foes out of families; foreigners out of friends; and witches out of the ones we once considered our true riches. It is now pleasurable to demonise each other behind each other. The children of yesterdays who kept vigil over the joy of seeing each other, are now adults and they don't want to see each other. With everybody ignoring everybody; pretending to be busy and feeling over important.

Gradually we've allowed hatred take over our hearts. Family members now keep malice for years over minor or none issues. We have become total strangers to each other as though we did not grow up within the same streets and same neighborhoods.

*Bad enough, the elderly who should call and chair family meetings from time to time so as to strengthen family bonds, prefer to rather sit and watch, or even help fan the evil ember of disunity, by aligning with the camp they are benefitting the most from*.

I thought when people know God better, they behave better. But the case of our generation is different. Once children, now adults, they go to places of worship more, and claim to know GOD better. But our behaviours and characters are the worst for it. We have titles on our necks, with no love in our hearts.

*Looking so spiritual but acting so devilish* Unforgiveness, anger, *ENVY, 'BIFFING', hatred, SELFISHNESS and the likes, are the fruits we exude everywhere we go*

The question is, where is the love? Where is the kindness? How did we get here? Where did we lose grip of what is most important and picked up what is of no importance? How have we become adults and less humans? Who has bewitched us? COLONIALISTS!

Its time to go back to our childhood. Its time to love, care and look out for each other as families should.

We must wake up and realise that, we are stronger together, better together and will achieve more together.

When we come together; we will be healthier, live longer, and leave better memories with each other than against each other.

If and when God ask us:
Where is thy brother
I hope that you will be ready with a good answer.

CrimeMy Mother Asked Me To Kill My Younger Brother For Sacrifice So That We Can Make by dubaino(op): 1:16pm On Jan 12, 2022
My mother asked me to kill my younger brother for sacrifice so that we can make money.

A 32 years old man Afeez Olalere has been arrested by the Operative Of The Lagos State Police Command for using his brother for money rituals.

He made the shocking confession saying "my mother took me to an herbalist who told me if I want to be successful in the Yahoo business I will have to sacrifice a life and that person must be a sibling to me.

The things he would need to prepare a concoction with are his thumbs, his hair, fingers and a passport photograph.

So we went back home and thought about it, then my mother suggest we use my younger brother since he is just 21 years old.

She also brought the poison which we gave him to eat, he died within 20minutes after consuming the food.

I was the one who cut out the body parts needed.

We then wrapped his dead body and headed to mortuary.

Nemesis caught up with them during a stop and search operation along Itamaga Ikorodu, Lagos State.

THE DOUBLE TRAGEDY AT DASH!!!

This is the sad story of the untimely death of two gynaecologists at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital recently ( Dr. Victor Nwatu and Dr.Esa Oga). Dr. Victor Nwatu is a new fellow(O&G) of the WACS ( April 2021) while Dr.Esa Oga was employed in 2017 as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at DASH.

The case was that of a woman with severe PPH for whom Dr.Victor Nwatu had earlier done uterine artery ligation for the patient. However, the bleeding persisted and Dr.Esa Oga had to perform hysterectomy (assisted by Dr. Victor Nwatu). The plan to perform hysterectomy was discussed at the morning meeting(as a case of uterine atony) but little concern was placed on the surgical presentation of Lassa fever. Eventually, the patient died.

Both surgeons later took ill. Dr Victor travelled back to his family at Abuja from Lafia and was managed as a case of malaria. He eventually died on the 5th December,2021 at the age of 43 and survived by his wife and four children.

This prompted a review of the corpse and the diagnosis of Lassa fever was confirmed on the 6th December,2021.

The lead surgeon;Dr.Oga was also confirmed to be Lassa positive and eventually died earlier today 14th December,,2021.

Even as we strive to save lives; let's continue to remember that the Doctors'(as well as other health workers) lives matter by ensuring and insisting in adequate protection from all work-place threats and dangers.

May the soul of Drs.Esa Oga and Victor Nwatu rest in peace and may the good Lord continue to protect us.

EducationWike Offers N50m, Automatic Lectureship Job To Disabled Phd Graduand by dubaino(op): 5:27pm On Dec 04, 2021
WIKE OFFERS N50M, AUTOMATIC LECTURESHIP JOB TO DISABLED PhD GRADUAND.

Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has honoured a student living with disability, James E. Daniel, with N50 Million and automatic lectureship appointment in Rivers State University for bagging a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree.

The governor, however, has cautioned all Rivers State owned universities to stop indiscriminate conferment of doctoral degrees on all manner of questionable candidates and people of material influence.

Governor Wike announced the N50 Million reward and automatic lectureship appointment of Dr. Daniel during the 33rd convocation of the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt on Saturday.

The governor said the honour bestowed on Dr. Daniel is in recognition of his academic excellence and for being a source of inspiration to persons living with disabilities.

The Rivers State governor in his remark, directed the Governing Council and managements of state universities to sanitize their internal academic systems by stopping every inappropriate policy, practice or procedure that compromises the high quality academic standards required of tertiary institutions.

Governor Wike said from inception, the Rivers State University has been in the forefront of providing tertiary education and training to people of the State.

He observed that like the mustard seed, the university has grown from the little beginnings to become one of the largest and leading State government owned institutions in the country.

The governor, emphasised that serious universities jealously guard their reputation and award doctoral degrees only to students who have gone through years of rigorous intellectual research and interrogation and whose dissertation is independently adjudged to be sound and contributory to new learning.

He, however, described as unfortunate, the current trend and practice in universities, including the Rivers State University, to award doctoral degrees indiscriminately, like chieftaincy titles, to all manner of questionable candidates.

"This practice must stop in all Rivers State Government-owned tertiary institutions as we demand greater character, commitment and responsibility from staff and management to the vision and fundamental objectives of university education.

"First of all, the programmes that you offer must equip the students with relevant skills, entrepreneurial or otherwise so that on graduation they can start their own businesses and professional practice and become creators of jobs from the beginning; and not jobless seekers of elusive jobs."

The governor commended the present Governing Council for its leadership and unprecedented achievements in infrastructural development for the last six years.

He charged the council to stop the embarrassing erosion of the value and quality of the certificates and degrees being awarded by the university.

"This is the only way you can be recognized globally and be able to benchmark, collaborate and partner with other top universities across the world in applied research and innovation relevant to the local and international labour markets."

Governor Wike, congratulated all the 4970 graduands for their academic achievement. He, however, reminded them that the time when graduates had an easy and almost predictably straight movements; from education, to work, and finally, to pension is over.

He assured that the infrastructural development in the university started by his administration, including the four new campuses at Ahoada, Emohua, Ebara and Sakpenwa, will be completed by the second quarter of 2022.

"We will also continue to support the university to strengthen its staffing needs and the provision of enhanced digital infrastructure to deliver quality education and training to improve competitiveness and employability of our graduates."

The RSU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nlerum Okogbule, expressed gratitude to Governor Wike for his enormous support to the institution.

On his part, the Pro-Chancellor and chairman of the governing council, Justice Iche Ndu, rtd, commended the graduands for the successful completion of their academic endeavour.

The Chancellor and the Emir of Lafia, His Royal Majesty, Dauda Sidi Bage, noted that university education is indispensable to national development.

"I have carefully examined the academic components of this great university, particularly courses and research thematic areas taught to students in this university, and delighted to confirm, by way of unequivocal amplifications, that they are focused on preparing our students for nation building and solving societal challenges."

The Chancellor, who is a retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, lauded Governor Wike for his unparalleled support for the judiciary, and his intervention in the construction of a brand new campus of the Nigerian Law School in Port Harcourt.

One week before she steps aside, outgoing German Chancellor Angela Merkel was treated to a traditional sendoff Thursday, involving a military ceremony with a brass band playing her choice of music - reported to include a 1970s punk song.
