Bayelsa Governor Diri today has received the People's Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital for the party’s presidential campaign.

He arrived at about noon and was accompanied by members of the PDP National Working Committee and the Presidential Campaign Council.

Making his brief remark at the Oxbow Lake Pavillion where the rally was held, Gov. Diri said "PDP is the party that has given us everything from the beginning of civilian regime till today.

As a State, PDP has given us a President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Now the only candidate who has keyed in and talked about what the Ijaws and the Bayelsa people want, we have been talking about resource control, Atiku is the only candidate that has talked about a restructuring of this country.

And therefore PDP and Atiku are the only parties and candidates that the Ijaw people should know. No other candidate talks about the feelings of the Ijaw people.

So I want to on behalf of our great party and the Government of Prosperity of Bayelsa State appreciate our President and Vice President in waiting," Governor Diri stated.

Kogi twin becomes first female twin pilot in Nigeria.

Nigerian female twin, Hassana and Huseina Edili Ogaji from Kogi state, are being presented as the first female twin airline pilots in the history of Nigeria.

They have broken a record of being presented as the first female twin airline pilots in the history of Nigeria.

Husseina and Hassanna later gained admission into the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology in 2006 where they were trained as pilots.
In 2008, they obtained degrees in Dash-8 Professional Piloting at Flight Safety International Le Bourge Paris, France.

BAYELSA MAN ABSCONDS FROM MARRIAGE CEREMONY OVER INCESSANT DEMANDS.

Drama as bridegroom walks out of engagement ceremony in Imo State due to extortion.

He paid N1,500,000 to cater for food, tents, chairs and a public address system.

He was also made to set aside N100,000 as the bride price that the two families had agreed on.

Biobelemoye David was asked to add N50,000 to the bride price because he had already impregnated the girl.

He was slapped with a N10,000 fine for making a detour to the wrong path and ending up in a different homestead instead of the girl's.

He was also asked to pay N15,000 to appease the elders who had become tired of waiting for his arrival.

DEPRAVED INDIFFERENCE: Abducted couple killed despite N7.5m payment buried

A couple who were killed by their abductors despite the payment of ransom have been buried.

The man, Mr Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, 36, and his wife, Mrs Chinwendu Chukwuemeka, 30, were kidnapped and murdered by yet-to-be-identified assailants.

They were buried in their hometown at Isiekwulu, Ukpo, in the Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State on Thursday.

Their burial threw the entire community into mourning.

Both husband and wife were said to be returning to their house after attending a programme at the Holy Ghost Adoration, Uke, in the Idemili North LGA, when they were kidnapped.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the couple were with their four-month-old baby, whom the kidnappers abandoned in the car, as they whisked them away.

A source said family members initially paid the kidnappers the sum of N5m, but the hoodlums demanded an additional N2.5m, which took the family time to raise, as they sold part of their land to generate the money.

The kidnappers, after collecting the complete ransom, reportedly switched off their phones.

About two months later, the community saw the corpses of the couple along the Uke-Nnobi Road.

The bodies were said to be in chains.

Bayelsa Born Lawyer, Michael Jonathan Numa, Becomes Youngest SAN in Nigeria

37 Years old Michael Jonathan Numa, from Bayelsa State was on Monday elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), making him the youngest SAN in Nigeria.

Michael Numa schooled at the Delta State University were he obtained the Bachelor of Law In 2008, he was called to the Bar as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 2010.

My wife was pregnant, Her due date was 29th October. She has passed her EDD as she was 40 weeks plus 3 days due. She went for her routine check up and did scan last week Tuesday, 1st November 2022. The scan results confirmed that baby mother and child were all in perfect condition.

The doctor told her if she does not go into natural labour between that Tuesday till the end of the week, she should come with her bags the following week so as to be manually induced into labour.

So on Sunday night 6th November 2022 at about past 11pm she started having stomach pains.

Then we proceeded to the hospital.

We got to the hospital by 12 midnight and the doctor available told her she was 5 cm dilated and was already in labour.

They said she would need to get to 10cm dilated before she will be taking to delivery room.

By 2am, the doctor came to observe her and burst her water bag.

At about 5 am the doctor told me that the baby was in distress and deficated in my wife's womb and said that if the baby stays any longer in the womb it will poss some future health threat to the child when delivered or the child might likely die in the womb. And recommended her for operation. I and my wife gave our consent immediately.

The doctor kept on delaying in commencing with the operation without any viable reason except that the gynaecologist and the team of doctors that would perform the operation need to arrive the theater.

By past 6 am I went again to meet the doctor to know why they are yet to commence the operation, I met him handing over to another consultant, asked him if he was leaving and he said he was done for the day. I asked him about the operation that he suggested, and he said it will soon commence and also told me that they may likely also reconsider her delivering normally without being operated.

I asked further if there was no cause for alarm considering the previous report he gave, and he said there was nothing to worry about.

8.15 am my wife, walked into the theater for the operation.

By past 11 am they came to tell me that they gave her drugs to prepare her for the operation and after some minutes, her heart stopped beating, her pulse stopped responding.

How can a woman that came into the hospital full of health and physically strong automatically stop beating immediately she was administered drugs on?

The doctors failed to bring out the baby from her womb even after when they confirmed to me that baby was still alive in the womb

The operation was not done, my wife gone, baby gone.

They abandoned me, my wife's lifeless body, our innocent unborn baby in the theater without anybody coming to give even a word of sympathy let alone explain to me what happened till this moment I write to the whole world.

Human lives means nothing Nigerian Hospitals and there incompetent Doctors.

value for Humans lives are like mere laboratory tools to them.

This fish was caught in Zarama, as the waters were receding at the St. Peter's Anglican Church Compound. This fish belong to the Polypteridae species which are common in that area but have not been seen for over 50 years.
