Buhari arrives New York for 77th UN General Assembly

President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in New York for the high-level meetings of the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The UN Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that President Buhari arrived at the JF Kennedy International Airport in New York at about 6.20 pm local time.

The president was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; the Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the UN, Tijjani Muhammad-Bande and Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States, Dr Mrs Uzoma Emenike, among others.

The theme for the 77th session which opened on Tuesday, Sept. 13 is: “A watershed moment: Transformative solutions to interlocking challenges.”

Key topics of discussion at the 2022 UNGA include the war in Ukraine, the global energy crisis, climate action, and ending the COVID-19 pandemic.

Buhari is expected to attend the opening of the High-Level Summit on Transforming Education and Leaders Roundtable on Monday, where he will deliver Nigeria’s National Statement.

Similarly, he will make a statement in Thematic Session four of the summit on the Digital Transformation of Education.

On Tuesday, Buhari will attend the opening ceremony of the UNGA General Debate where the President of the General Assembly, Csaba Kőrös and UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres will declare the General Debate open.

He is expected to attend the opening ceremony as the Head of the Nigerian Delegation in the company of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffrey Onyeama; Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Prof. Tijjani Muhammad-Bande and other top Nigerian delegates.

Also, he will be attending Transforming Education in Africa: Past, Present and Future where he will make a statement that same day.

On Wednesday, Buhari will be the first speaker to address the General Assembly, which is the second day of the General Debate.

He will deliver Nigeria’s statement around 9 am (around 2 pm Nigerian time) to other world leaders during the morning session.

Also, he will be attending the Committee of African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change meeting and Africa’s New Public Health Order: Rejuvenating the Global Health Security Agenda.

Similarly, Buhari will attend a reception by U.S. President Joe Biden at the American Museum of Natural History.

On Thursday, the President is expected to attend a bilateral meeting on Nigeria International Economic Partnership Forum and High-Level meetings on the Sahel.

Also, Buhari will attend the Extraordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government.

On Friday, the Nigerian President will attend the High-Level Breakfast Meeting on Reinvigorating Multilateralism and Achieving Comprehensive Reform of the UN Security Council Commemoration of 15 years of L.69.

Similarly, he will attend the official Launch of Nigeria’s Integrated National Financing Framework that same day.

Nigerians Consumed N599.11 billion Worth of Beer in 1st and 2nd Quarter of 2022

A new report published by Prime Business Africa shows that Nigerians consumed about N599.11 billion worth of beer in six months running from January to June 2022, according to the first quarter results of four major brewers in the country.

Champion Brew ended the First Half (H1) 2022 as the best performing company in the brewery Industry, as Nigerian Breweries and Guinness Nigeria lost market share to their rivals.

In the industry analysis of their revenue growth within January to June 2022, Prime Business Africa gathered Nigerian Breweries, Guinness Nigeria, International Breweries and Champion Brew generated a combined N599.11 billion.

The turnover grossed by the four largest brewers in the country grew 31.2%, when compared to the N456.44 billion they generated during the corresponding period in 2021.

While the net profit recorded by Nigerian Breweries, Guinness Nigeria, International Breweries and Champion Brew increased by 54.1%, as it rose to N36.14 billion in H1 this year, in contrast to the N23.44 billion reported in H1 2021. Brewery giants, Nigerian Breweries, Guinness, and International Breweries all reported double-digit growth in their revenues as Nigerians guzzled their products despite a dip in purchasing power and galloping inflation. Non-alcoholic beverage makers such as Nestle, Cadbury and Friesland Campina also reported similar revenue growth as Nigerians drank more chocolate drinks.

These companies between them sell some of the biggest beverage brands consumed by Nigerians. For example, Nigeria Breweries sells Star and Maltina, while Guinness sells Guinness Stout, Orijin and Malta Guinness. Nestle sells Milo Nescafe, and Golden Mourn. FrieslandCampina is the maker of Peak Milk and Three Crowns

The performance review is listed from least to best performing

Guinness Nigeria (28.9% growth)

Guinness Nigeria was the least performing company in terms of revenue growth, with the company reporting 28.9% in turnover growth, which rose to N206.82 billion in H1 this year, from N160.41 billion in H1 2021.

However, Guinness Nigeria recorded the highest growth in profit after tax, as it closed the first half of this year with N15.65 billion, which is 1146.7% year-on-year growth, when compared to the N1.25 billion of H1 2021.

Nigerian Breweries (30.9% growth)

Despite growing its revenue to N274.03 billion between January to June this year, the 30.9% growth rate when compared to the N209.21 billion turnover of H1 last year, makes Nigerian Breweries the third best performing firm in the market.

The management was also able to grow its net profit by 142.8% year-on-year, having reported that it made N19.08 billion in the first six months of 2022, surpassing the N11.22 billion profit after tax of H1 2021.

International Breweries (35.9% growth)

From sales of its products, International Breweries generated N111.40 billion within six months of H1 this year, in contrast to the N81.96 billion grossed in the same period last year – a difference of 35.9%.

However, its revenue growth couldn’t prevent International Breweries net profit from a -97.5% decline, after failing to surpass the N13.88 billion profit after tax of H1 2021, as the firm reported N336.20 million net profit in the first half of this year.

Champion Brew (41.6% growth)

While Champion Brew holds a small share of the market, the company recorded the highest revenue growth of 41.6% during the period under review, making it the best performing firm in the industry. It generated N6.86 billion, against the N4.84 billion reported in H1 2021.

The brewer also joined Nigerian Breweries and Guinness to grow its profit after tax, reporting a 141.6% growth year-on-year, as its net profit rose to N1.07 billion in H1 2022, surpassing the N445.23 billion recorded during the same period last year.

How often do you listen to your children/wards when they try to pass a massage?

When last did you observed those changes, that a child who was so open suddenly becomes dump, no longer tells you stuffs even when you ask?

What about the distance they suddenly keep with the house keeper whenever you're around, do you see that as fatherly or motherly attachment?

What is usually their reactions whenever you're about going out, leaving them under his/her care?

Do they suddenly developed strange illness unknowingly to you that is causing you so much at the hospital?

What about lost of interest to their places of interest such as church, etc?

HERE IS MY STORY:

My name is Victory Okon, I am an Akwa Ibomite, married 2018 and was blessed with two wonderful kids (one late now).

Just like everyone will seek assistance when the work load increases, we needed to maintain our jobs in order to carter of family, so we sorted out for a house help.

Some were good but did not last long and we have to manage the situation on our own until March this year, it was a holiday period and we needed help with someone who can take care of our children until we return from work.

That's how MERCY SUNDAY appeared on the 11th march, 2022 through the help of one my wife will call a sister.

Few weeks staying with us, the very first thing she destroyed?
My personal picture that was in a frame.

Then all of a sudden, my son no longer talk to me even when you asked him questions.

Anytime we are home?
Nobody wants to follow Mercy even to go and pee within the house.

According to my wife, she usually requested for 50 naira to buy juice whenever she is leaving the house for work, my son began to developed severe stomach pains that usually landed us at the hospital, then in two months and a week, MERCY poisoned and killed EDIDIONG with insects killer we suspected she mixed it in her food (golden morn) to feed her to death.

THE INSECT KILLER?

Okay, so last year, we had too many unwanted visitors in our apartment, (insects) such as cockroaches and the likes, what we used in waging war with them seems ineffective, one day as my wife returned from work, she decided to buy these green life mixture at Ibom Plaza, we discover the smell was too powerful for humans consumption, so each time we spread it, we have to leave the house for a day but even at that, the mixture had no absolute effect on the insects, they become weaker rather than death.

So she decided to take it to bathroom and left it at the window (out of reach of children) why we sorted for alternative for total eradication of the insects).

19th APRIL, 2022.
As usual, junior is awake, looking for the sister and they both came to say good morning to daddy, brush their teeth, demand for biscuits and juice, take their bath before bidding daddy farewell to work.
Only for me to received an emergency call at about 3pm same day, on getting home?
I met her lifeless, rushed to the hospital and get the shocking news of my life,

"YOU CAME A LITTLE BIT LATE",
the doctor declared.

Held her from 3pm till 12am the next day, looking for where to buy life so she can lived.
I recalled asking the doctor at UUTH to exchanged mine with hers and all I got was "calm down young man".

ACCORDING TO "THE MERCILESS MERCY":

Meanwhile, some of the words and deeds she's been doing to my children includes:

WORDS:

*God is not powerful.
*Satan is powerful.
*I will flush you in the toilet.
*I will kill you.

DEEDS:

*Pushed junior into a hot bathing water yet to be diluted.

*Open freezer and puts him inside, then cover it with NEPA on.
*Forced him to grab naked wire.
*Asked the little boy to carry the late sister in the bathroom, then pushed down the both of them
* mixed insect killer inside juice for him to drink severally.
*tempered with his private part.
Feeding the late Edidiong at the toilet where we suspected she sat to do her usual mixture.
Etc.

I know you want to kill us.
With all the above signs without taking action?
The truth is,
we did not know until she was late.

My daughter was not SICK,
There was no sign of anything sickness in her.
Her life was forcefully taken by another and these is a fact.

According to my wife, the brothers' last words to his dear sister after he had pleaded the mother to carry her along with him was;

"EDIDIONG STAY IN THE HOUSE, MERCY WILL FLUSH YOU".

I have already given the professor with funds to travel to Abuja Nigeria for the registration and approval of the first free university in Nigeria to be called
OPM free university.
Like our 20 free schools
2 free world class free hospitals
1 multi skill acquisition center
18 free estates etc……
This free university shall be ran 100 percent free of charge and it will be open to both Muslims and Christians from other churches.
Serious OPM members, not visiting members shall have 90 percent slot, while 10 percent shall be shared for Muslims and other denominations.
The professor has also promised to bring in some foreign professor that will train some of our Nigerian lecturers free of charge on how to teach with technology, not black boards. Am so excited for this my dream to come true.
Just like the world class well equipped specialist hospital which started 8 years ago.
Every week through head of welfare Mrs Morine we spend million on people hospital bills. Then one day I woke up and said enough is enough we must build our own hospital and God made it possible. I will also speak to those American universities that gave me honorable doctorate decree if they can afflict with OPM free university even if it means paying them monthly. So that OPM free university can be high standard.

PVCs DISCOVERED IN UNCOMPLETED BUILDING IN BAYELSA

Hundreds of temporary and Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, have been discovered in an uncompleted building along the Imiringi/Ogbia road in Bayelsa state.

The PVCs, found by a security organisation, the Nigeria Hunters Association during one of their outings, were allegedly stashed by hoodlums in a bag in the building.

The assistant Commandant, Nigeria Hunters Association, Bayelsa state chapter, komoda E. Komoda, speaking to Silverbird Rhythm 94.7FM Yenagoa correspondent Henry Ahamuefula, noted that upon arrival at the scene, the hoodlums absconded, leading to their discovery of the PVCs

Our ballot paper should be like this because in the true sense of it, it is actually the individual with his vice that we are voting for. All the elections conducted in Nigeria in the past, the ballot paper just carried only party logos. But it is not the party we vote that leads us after the elections but the individual. Almost all the countries in Africa has both the face, the name of the candidate, his/her running mate, and the party logo on their ballot papers. Please do this for Nigerians.

According to him, “I came out as early as 7.00 a.m to cast my vote for my preferred candidate.”

Benjamin said, “I am 95 years of age and I have been voting since 1952. I still have faith in this country.

“I am here to exercise my civic responsibility and to vote for my candidate for a better dividend of democracy,” he said.
