Positionless means his designated position depends on the role the manager wants him to play on the day. You can say versatile and you'd be right but it is not exactly the same in every context. You will agree with me that Harry Kane is a striker right? But will you also agree that he plays as a 10 in some games. When he is playing as a striker that roams everywhere on the pitch he is showing his positionlessness. However when he plays as a 10 (only) in some games, he is showing his versatility.
